If Bridgerton and The Cruel Prince had a baby… This stand-alone fantasy romance featuring a human girl and her betrothal to a fearsome fae prince will surely make you swoon.
It’s an arranged marriage that could stop a war…but can it stop the fae prince from destroying her heart?
When the magical veil falls between the human and fae kingdoms, nineteen-year-old Miss Romilly Evans is selected from amongst all the proper young ladies of the Royal Quarter to marry the fae prince and fulfill the peace treaty. Bracing herself for the worst, Miss Romilly isn’t surprised to find her future husband despises her…
But what she doesn’t expect is that they’ve met once before.
When ordered to marry a human bride for the sake of preserving peace, Prince Averett is resigned to merely tolerate the social climbing, title-obsessed barbarian the humans select. All that comes to a halt when he realizes the girl he is to marry is the very one who saved his life years ago. And that the only way to keep her safe from him and his terrible powers is to leave once the treaty is complete.
Until then, they’ll agree to pretend to be a couple most ardently in love.
But pretending can have its consequences.
The heated way Prince Averett looks at his bride could very well burn down the walls built between them…but can it overcome the dark secrets they both hold?
And can it kindle a love that will bring two entire nations together?
The Fae Prince and I is a stand-alone novel, with a happily-ever-after ending. It’s perfect for fans of A Deal with the Elf King and Bridgerton, with a slow-burn steamy romance, forced proximity, scarred/tortured hero, and an orphaned heroine.
The story had a fine premise, yet it was predictable, there were loose ends, the development just scratched the surface and the writing didn’t thrill me.
Once again Joss has drawn me in with her beautiful worlds and characters! I couldn't put it down! I love all the ups and downs she weaves into the story, making you feel for the main characters before leaving us with the happily ever after she makes you want for them. I always enjoy her way of story telling.
Years ago Romilly had saved a fae who was captured by her uncle. Now that the veil has disappeared, the kingdoms have decided on an allegiance by marriage and Romilly was picked to be the fae prince's bride. Shockingly, it was the boy she had saved years ago. It was a sweet story of two people thinking they were broken but ultimately through their love, manages to embrace their darkness.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A kind of story where you don't want high investment in your deep feelings. Just a low stake fantasy romance enjoying the sweet and light feeling not caring about the plot, world building and the like. I'm more into it these days. Gone are the days of full emotional investments. I guess, that's what you get when you get old. *Chuckle*
Enjoyable and easy read. Took me 2 days to finish. Not the most imaginative of stories but I enjoyed it nonetheless! Nice quick read if you’re looking for something between epic series!
