Eagle's Destiny

Leaving you breathless...

Sizzling romance, dreams coming true, erotic moments? Well, at least that’s what happens in Elizabeth’s bestselling books. So far, her personal life is quite a bit different from the characters that she creates. Romance, in her life at least, is the last thing on her mind until she returns home to find she has a tempting new neighbor.

Elizabeth’s introduction to ruggedly handsome Michael is turning her life upside down. Written word is becoming the reality as he offers her the rare chance of the love she yearns for but never believes would be hers.

Fate is a funny thing though. Obstacles of all sorts lay on this path to true love, but are some things just destined to be?

3 out of 5 stars

At first I liked this book; the author pulled me in right away and did a great job keeping me there, for a couple of chapters at least. Then things started to get a little slow, it wasn’t until the end that book actually picked up again, I felt as though the middle chapters of the book were just on repeat. She went on tour for two weeks and it was the same thing, hotel stays, book signings, meeting fans, and going out with her publicist. Not to mention a couple of crazy things thrown in there that I felt were not even relevant to the story.

For the most part, the characters had good development and I liked most of them. Elizabeth (female lead) was kind of selfish and seemed to overreact when things didn’t go her way. She assumed things too many times. Most of the times she got upset were big misunderstandings. But again I can see where the author was going with it. Michael was pretty awesome, he definitely had his own baggage but he was super sweet and was always respectful towards Elizabeth. I thought that the author made Michael’s daughters out to be very immature but in a weird way it tied in nicely because Elizabeth got the opportunity to get closer to the girls because of it.

I really enjoyed the whole wildlife aspect of the book, I thought that was really neat and C.J. Corbin did an awesome job with that. It was even fun to learn some things about the Eagles. Even though I felt some things should be different with the book I would say if you like contemporary romance novels where the main characters are not in their college years you should try this book out!

SPOILERS!!!!

I liked this book. It was a bit cliche in some instances such as the whole "woman who has never known love writes of love then finds love" but it was also surprisingly real in other ways such as the baggage each of them brought to the relationship. It was also a bit long for my tastes. I feel like the hint of pregnancy happened very early in the story compared to when she finally gets pregnant at the end of the book. I AM glad I didn't have to see any drama relating to an early pregnancy however, so that goes both ways for me as well. I also thought that the husband came after her a bit late after his threats...it felt a little off that he waited so long since his character didn't seem very patient. The sex scenes were a beautiful story of an abused woman finding her sexuality again and letting it out. I loved that part of the story. Not just the steamy sex, but her truly learning to love herself again and find herself beautiful.

So, overall I liked this book but didn't totally love it. It certainly had the potential for me to love it though, it just moved a bit slowly. I will be keeping an eye on other works by this author for sure :) Thanks for a fun read.

Eagle's Destiny by C.J. Corbin
Eagle's Destiny is a well-conceived, well-written adult romance novel that will make you smile, fill you with frustration and sadness, and then make you smile again. You will experience the roller-coaster of emotions with Elizabeth and Michael because this author is a good one who pulls you in with well-developed characters and realistic scenarios. Because the characters quickly become your friends, you'll be rooting for them to make it from the time they first meet. And I guarantee that you will find yourself eagerly awaiting C. J. Corbin's next novel with as much anticipation as I am.

I received this book signed by the author from a free giveaway on Facebook. This book was so awesome!!! It flowed so smoothly & kept me engrossed in the story line & characters. I related with the main female character Elizabeth on some life experiences so it made it a little connect with her in this. I went through a wide range of emotions from happiness to fright, to anger to sadness & OH YEAH I cried like a baby in a few parts !! I wholeheartedly agree with C.J. Corbin, dreams DO come true !!! I won't give any parts of the book away BUT everyone needs to read this one !!

What.A.Great.Book! This book was a beautiful love story, rich with detail and wonderfully told. The characters in the book were great to follow as we watched two people, wounded from prior bad relationships, learn to love, trust, and fall in love. CJ Corbin added just the right amounts of compassion, passion, and humor to bring the reader into the book and hold them there. Strongly recommended for those of you looking to fill a weekend with reading- the books hard to put down.

Eagle's Destiny is a sensual romance. A great story line with awesome characters. Author, CJ Corbin, is very detailed in the story as well as the characters. One of the best romantic stories I read in a long time. The story made me feel as though I was one of the characters and could have a life such as Elizabeth and love a man such as Michael.. Can't wait for the next book.

Eagle's Destiny was a good read. The characters were realistic and not "over the top". I would recommend this book and look forward to a sequel....

*BOOK REVIEW*
BOOK: Eagle's Destiny
AUTHOR: CJ Corbin
PLOT: Elisabeth is a romance author who just got out of an abusive relationship with her husband Kevin. She decides to go back home, and that's where she meets the swoony Michael, who happens to be her new neighbor. Michael is also a divorcee, and all the women throw themselves at him. Like Elisabeth, Michael isn't looking for love. The more time Elisabeth spends with Michael, the more she starts to fall for him, and it's the same for Michael; the more time he spends with Elisabeth, the more he finds himself falling for her. As their love grows, something sinister brews in the distance. Someone that could very well end their relationship, and put both of them in danger. This book was so hard to put down. I loved Elisabeth and Michael and I feel like they deserved each other. Kevin was a character I despised and wanted to see eliminated! Like, how dare he make Elisabeth feel the way she did. She deserved so much better than the abuse her ex-husband was putting her through! Seeing Michael's daughters grow close to Elisabeth was heartwarming as well! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Elisabeth and Michael in the next book! Thank you for letting me enjoy this series, CJ!

Eagle's Destiny by C.J. Corbin

I'm not sure how this one got so mis-placed in my TBR, but I have had it for a long time and missed reading it. So, although I realize that I am late to the party, It sure turned into a wonderful party. I really enjoyed the stories, back stories, and characters in this book. I loved how even the use of Elizabeth's name and many nick-names reflected her relationship to the other characters. And the Eagles? Oh, my, the eagles, became a wonderful metaphor for this love story. I would have been just as happy to eliminate Kevin, but in some ways I also loved to hate him.

I dropped a star for editing errors, but nothing that direct detracted from the telling of this story.

Elizabeth, a romance author, goes to her cabin because shes suffering from writers block. When she gets there she learns she has new neighbors, a divorced man and his 2 daughters. This story follows their growing love of each other, but also what their ex-spouses will try to get what they want. This book is wonderfully written!!
