A change of fate might have ended both his military career and his marriage, but Drake’s life is on a new path; a path that leads to him finding himself in a way he would never have imagined possible.
After an accident forces him to retire early, Master Sergeant Levelle Drake needs to re-evaluate his life and his future. When he heads out west to clear his mind for a few days in the Superstition Mountains, he ends up stumbling across a town lost in time. Everything he thought he wanted to leave behind now becomes a reality he might not be able to get back to. A life he abruptly left behind without explanation, or the possibility of starting over with a woman who knows nothing of where he came from becomes the ultimate struggle as he decides between living in the future or in the past.

Author Sherry Rudd continues to entertain readers who want to get lost in time. Fourth in her western time travel romance collection, the story of Levelle Drake is touching and inspirational. Follow along on this adventure back into the year 1868, where a legendary gold town just might be the perfect place for a modern soldier to start over.

Out for a hike... and Drake lands himself back into the 1800s. Confused and lost, he finds what could save his life in the most unexpected of places... Superstition mountains. This was a great read with a thrilling plot. Sherry's Leap Year Series just keeps getting better.

Superstitions takes you out to the mountains of Arizona where perhaps the desert heat can go to your head and make you wonder if legend can become reality.
The author weaves an easy, summer read with characters you wish you knew in real life. Levelle Drake is a wounded veteran who struggles with PTSD and a life changing injury. Lilas is a strong, independent, single mother who lost her husband in a war. In a search for himself, Levelle takes a trip to the Superstition Mountains of Arizona and stumbles upon a legend that leads him to love- not just for another person but for himself as well.
This story will leave the reader wanting more and there are currently 4 more books in the Leap Year series.

This is the first book that I read in the Leap Year series and I absolutely loved it. It easily works as a stand alone.

I found it easy to fall in love with the characters. They were entertaining and believable. The story moves quickly and kept me engaged all the way to the end.

While there were some paranormal aspects (time travel) it reads just like the many western novels I have read in the past.

I highly recommend reading this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of them!

Have you ever felt that your life is lacking a little something after a traumatic event, and perhaps has you feeling lost and displaced in this world? What better way to find yourself again than to go on a solitary hike in the beautiful, craggy Superstition Mountains? Watch out though, one slip in the rocky terrain might just find you staring back into history, and feeling lost in a totally different way. Levelle Drake is experiencing something that most people would think is either a dream or that they had simply gone mad. He realizes that something isn't right when he wakes up after taking a spill along the trail. He then meets the lovely Lilas and her young son, Lawrence, and the chemistry between them starts to flicker. To avoid giving too much information about this enjoyable story, I won't go too much more into detail. Just know that as you read this book, you will feel some feels and see love blooming in a very unconventional way in Sherry Rudd's latest time travel adventure. It is well worth your time to read this one!
