Danton Cawood is an ex-army police investigator, recently divorced from the woman and job he loved. He's decided to find himself whilst walking across the hills and dales of Northern England only to find a body and a mystery. Dan finds himself in a civilian world living at home with his mother in York, trying to make sense of his new life. He's trying prevent a miscarriage of justice and find a killer. Not only does he have to come to terms with his new life, he has to deal with a boss who is hell bent on making his life a misery. However, Dan soon makes some new friends and surprisingly meets an ally from the past to solve the riddle of the body found high on the Moors. This is Peter Rankin's first book, he's an ex-passenger boat skipper, ex-teacher and life long resident of York. He's hoping to bring a new mystery to the old city and hopefully entertain you along the way.
