Daniel Heimbach examines the biblical teachings on sexual morality as well as four counterfeit views that have crept into our "sexually revolutionized" society. He gives us an in-depth look at the moral relativism that has spread through our culture and opens our eyes to the effects that nonbiblical sexual choices have on individuals, the family, the church, and the culture.
Before starting this book I read that it was Biblically exhaustive on the subject matter at hand. After now completing it, I would say I completely agree. This book is incredibly exhaustive and wonderfully disciplined. There is a seriousness throughout that held my attention from page to page. I highly recommend this study to any believer, trying to understand the world in which we live in. The world that is continually turning its face from the standards and the judgment of God. The world that will one day meet its Creator.
A truly exhaustive book on the Biblical foundations of sexual morality. Even though the book is focused on the American culture it is truly an eye opener for those who want to see into the sexual revolution that will hit every nation soon. Daniel takes us into seeing the true nature of sex as created by God and the attributes that make it morally pure in a world where it is been turned upside down. Daniel’s explanation on the counterfeit sexual approaches of the world show us how Satan has taken this gift and turned it around making us go against God and the ones we love. In spite being a long and deep read I would advice all who are on the journey of standing for God’s view of biblical sexual morality should read this book and teach its concepts to our children. The battle of purity and holiness will be the toughest to win in the coming ages.
Exhaustive Scriptural view of what God says about sex standards. Not for the lightweight reader. One of the few drawbacks is a conspiracy theory that much of the current immorality is someone orchestrated.
A rather large argument for a simple conclusion: God’s design for sex is best. Heimbach connects the devolution of sexuality to the decline of the church, marriage, and society as a whole. Arguing that compromise in sexuality perverts life itself, he provides the biblical model for sex as God intended.
Even though there is a LOT of good in his argument, I believe he overreaches a tad on the eschatological and eternal ramifications of one’s sexuality. However, I think it is still worth the read!
