firstly, thank you to callie for sending me the arc!!
i thoroughly enjoyed the wintery vibes of each individual story.
each story was different from the next. in their own way, the stories held mystery and tension, each author was able to capture all of that in such a short space, but now all i want is more!! i want backstories and exposition and character arcs and to know where the endings continue on to.
i will just have to accept that short stories are short for whatever reason.
i will definitely be rereading this sooner rather than later ❄️
I loved these stories! But like most short stories I want more of them! I want to know what happens afterwards! But if ya want a quick winter read look no further!!
I remember this getting announced out of the blue and I was so excited to dive in and meet some new characters!
Each story was immersive and rich and I got very attached to some of the characters . I loved the mythology, the stories were so diverse too, even the names are beautiful!
This story was perfect. The love story between Brenna and Motti was well portrayed. My favorite part was their banter. Honestly, this would have been a fantastic novel.
Heart of Ice, Soul of Fire- 4,5 stars
This short story was cute, but I wish it had been longer. It had a lot of ideas, and I just wanted to see more of Keir and Nix.
We Warm the Stars- 4,5 stars
This story was so cozy and cute. I really loved it.
True Love Blooms Evergreen- 5 stars
This short story was so good. I love the love story between Hedera and Quercus. I didn't know about this mythological story, so it was interesting.
Elements of the Stone- 5 stars
Like every story in this novel, this was just a lovely story, and the love story between Briar and Theodore is so cute and well-written.
Final Thoughts
All five stories in this book are so cute and cozy. Perfect for the winter season. It's well-written, and all the authors are outstanding. The only author I know is Helena V. Paris, her debut novel Shadow in the Deep is a very anticipated release for me. However, after reading these short stories, I will definitely check out the other authors in the future.

I really enjoyed this anthology, the tales were short but steeped in mythology. There wasn’t a single one I didn’t enjoy. I genuinely couldn’t put this down.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful, beautiful winter-themed stories full of magic and love. Reading Frost felt like a balm to the soul. Fantastic November, December, January or February read. Feel like the stories spoke to me. Obviously left me wanting more as short stories always do but also were perfection in their own little worlds. Highly recommend.
Here’s the thing with this anthology; I really liked it and the wintery vibes it gave but I did not enjoy most of the story. Some were written in a lyrical way which is not something I particularly like in books and others felt extremely rushed to me because the author tried to squish too much info into a short story. But that does not mean they weren’t good!
My favourite story has to be ‘The Moon Moth’s Flame’. The two main characters’ banter and basically all of their interactions were so good, that I was squealing like a little girl. Motti was so swoon-worthy, I’m not even kidding. There’s just something about the whole sun goddess x moon god trope that I just eat it up every time. And that plot twist? Callie did it again, that’s all I can say. Definitely recommend picking this up!
This is a collection of very short, very sweet stories. I really liked the winter vibes and it’s a great read of you just want a few bite sized story to end the day. I also really liked that they’re all based on different mythological stories that are perhaps less common.
Whilst short they still manage to add excitement to the meant-to-be romances and offer a satisfying conclusion!
Thank you to Helena for the eARC. All thoughts are my own.
What a great anthology! I thought ALL the stories were wonderfully engaging and really fit the winter theme; though of course I had my favorites. (The first story really stuck with me). I especially loved the beautiful writing styles, and how mythology and folklore were worked into every story.
Now I’m curious to check out more of their works!
If I have one complaint, I wish it had said which story belonged to which author. I’m not familiar with any of them, so it was hard to tell.
This book is the perfect collection of short but sweet, winter reads. Each story grips you from the start, but I do have to say, the first story grabbed my attention the most. All stories have their own winter twist, but all equally addicting.
This anthology is the perfect read for these winter days. It has a nice range of stories. Good writing. Nice romances. Good fantasy aspects. A nice enjoyable lighthearted read. Thank you to the author Jade Church for sending me a copy of this book.
