In a world where time is of the essence, two timelines collide to create a thrilling tale of adventure and mundanity. On one side, we have four daring individuals vying for a dangerous mission in the year 2020; and on the other, a young Cuban-Canadian woman living a mundane life in 1936.

But don't let the word "mundane" fool you. This woman's life may seem ordinary, but it's anything but. Her story will be one of resilience and determination. As the holiday season approaches, the Philharmonic Symphony Society of New York is preparing for a Christmas concert that promises to be nothing short of extravagant. And at the heart of it all is our talented violinist who is ready to take center stage.

She is a master of her craft, with fingers that glide effortlessly over the strings of her violin in 1936; they are fearless agents risking their lives for a shot at something greater in 2020.

Agents of Protectors Inc. are no ordinary individuals. They've been trained in the art of combat, espionage, and everything in between. They're quick thinkers, fast on their feet, always ready for whatever comes their way, and they have taken it upon themselves to protect the one who can save us all.

And yes, that's the Savior. Who is this mysterious figure, you may ask? Well, that's a story for another day...

Together, these timelines weave a tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Will they succeed? Will they fail? Only time will tell. But one thing's for this is not your average story. So buckle up and get ready for a wild ride through time and space.

A short and steamy introduction to the world of Protectors Inc.: individuals with supernatural powers fighting to protect humanity against a threat no ordinary human stands a chance at defeating. Jumping between events in 1936 and 2020, the book builds tension and mystery as to who these characters are and how they are connected. What does a young violinist in 1936 have to do with a superhuman in 2020; how can someone ordinary like her be of any help to Protectors Inc.? Will their relationships, of which we see spicy moments, withstand the test of time and the battle to come? I can't wait to see how the adventure unfolds in the next book!

Protectors is a short story prequel to Emilie's upcoming series of Chronicles of Protectors and it sure got me excited about the world.
The prequel is brought to you from two point of views from two different years, 2020 and 1936. At first glance it seems there is nothing connecting the two since they are untimately so unlike each other, but by the end it all becomes clear. Now I'm incredibly curious what is going to happen next!

I absolutely loved this prequel to Emilie’s upcoming series Chronicles of protectors. I literally read this in one sitting. I loved the dual time line and seeing how they linked. One year is 1936 and the other is 2020. I couldn’t understand how they were both connected to each other it soon became clear 😁
I’ve never read anything like it before so when we were left On a cliff hanger I just wanted to see what happens so much so I’m waiting for her new series to come out.
A talented upcoming author ❤️

This introductory prequel to the Chronicles of Protectors series was jam packed. It introduces the characters that will be featured in the full length novel and how they all relate to each other.

This well written fantasy book has action, spice, and time travel. Despite being such a short read, the characters are developed well, and you get a sense of each of their characteristics. There’s quite a bit of action, and intrigue, leaving you to wonder what exactly is going to happen when the book ends.

I know my interest has been piqued, and I’m ready to see how the story progresses!

Review for the audiobook version:
The opening commands immediate attention with a spicy scene. My intrigue began to stir at the mention of suicidal missions and their survivors going to Reunion Island to recover. It felt like a mystery and a promise of action which I’m always up for. I’m glad that the cast has some ethnic and sexual diversity. The characters are well described and seem quite attractive. That being said, Anastasia is my favourite. I like her power and her blunt nature. She doesn’t take shit from anyone and isn’t afraid to get in on the action. I mean, it’s cool that Christopher has powers too but Ana stole the show, at least for me! 😊 Amanda’s the type of friend who gets you in trouble lol and Robert seems like a good friend you’d call in the middle of the night cause you had a bad dream.

I felt the tension between Ngo and Marco who I also believe doesn’t deserve to be part of the team. The former strikes me as a prominent, no-nonsense leader, which is cool. The action scenes were well written, easy to follow, and engaging. And HELLO? Astral projection! The enemy’s power was cool. I wonder if there are more like him that can make copies of themselves like that. The action was my favourite part of the book. Other than that, I enjoyed how the dialogue flowed well, especially between May and Robert in Chapter 4.

My speculations:

Either way it’s very interesting and I’m curious to know what happens next!
