Soooo I’m disappointed. I honestly DNF’d at 26%….

I mostly enjoyed the prior books.. but I could not get into this one. All of the guys have lost their edge, Alex is suddenly this fragile minded girl that the MMC’s are tip toeing around and lying to..

When I’m reading a book I want to be taken away from reality, I don’t really want to lose the bad assery from the previous books just because the FMC is pregnant with twins.. I really felt that highlighting their daughter and another pregnancy and talking about having more babies really kind of ruined the vibe and aesthetic of this series. It’s not a shot at anyone with kids- I have twins myself, I just thought we were on a less “family friendly” ride if you know what I mean.. after having twins, and reading about Alex maneuvering herself to have sex, I just knew it was all bullshit cause if my husband even looked at me too long while I was 7/8 months up the stump I was throwing something at him, so it was just very…. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I hated For this to End...We Need Stories About their Kids!!

Ok I read this series in 4 days..
Jillian has written the Hottest books of 2022.
🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
I need books about Sofia , Leo and Angelo...
Book four has the most plot action.., Drake and Olivia do we get their story? I feel something needs to happen with them!
Did I love each one of these men .👨‍🍳💋 yes.
I wanted more Damian dark.
I wanted more Savage Luca...I wanted more details of ruthless empire..
I am glad Marcello stopped leading the Command team, he balances all of them, and the mental health aspect of these books were outstanding, PTSD is a lifetime affliction it doesn't ever go away and I love how these characters help each other heal.

Did I say I can't wait to read Boardwalk Kings next? Give me more Mafia please.

It was alright. Everything got wrapped up nice and neat after a messy mission.

Most of part 2 were the bonus chapters Jillian Frost sent out via her mailing list, so it felt like I had read a good chunk of the book already.

Trash!! Read just finish the series and learn more about Drake Battle the organization we’ve been fighting for 3 books. Too bad that’s only 2% of this book plus Drakes story line is never finished and the horrible terrible mafia group is magically forgotten.
Yea, great flash forwards and wrapping most of the story, but with the title being directed at Drake I’m so confused how he is barely part of this book.

I loved this little wrap up book. I believe it was a little shorter but it felt like it was more of a novella sized extended epilogue. You get to meet all their kids and see a few off to join the Knights themselves! I absolutely loved seeing this look into the future of them all and to see they are all still safe and happy.

And battle they did!

Book four picks up where book three ended

Drake Battle is missing, alongside his colleague, Marcello has been sent out to find them, only the situation becomes precarious, ending in tragedy, and when Marcello returns home, he comes home a changed man.

Alex can see how her husband is hurting, putting aside her own fears, she supports him, helping him take one step at a time out of the darkness, and when he does, he steps down as the leader of alpha command, deciding to work from home, and persue the one thing that has meant a lot to him, painting.

Throughout the book we see Alex, Luca, Bastian, Marcello and Damian grow and develop in there characters, not only individually but together, as a queen, wife and mother to knights, husbands and fathers, but more so from enemies, to friends, to lovers.

Through the time jumps, we see their family expand from Sofia, to Michangelo and Leonardo, to Eve and Santino, Cato and Marcus. As they come into there own, following there dreams and passions, like there parents before them, following age old traditions, brining in the next generation of The Dark Knights.

This book has it all dark why choose romance, possessive dominant alpha males, a strong sassy female who gives as good as she gets, murder, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, deception, adrenaline seeking suspense, jealousy, twists, turns, truths and betrayal.

This story is told from multiple POV, it will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. Reading this story, it enables the  readers to really connect with the characters, and as the story continues to unfold the readers see the development and growth from the characters singularly and together.  The author definitely knows how to write and I’ll be coming back for more.

And those MM, MF, MFM and MMFMM s*x scenes, including those BDSM elements were steamy, yet sensual, dirty, hot, intense, physical, provocative, it had all the angry angst, hate, jealousy, pleasure and passion one would except when Luca, Bastian, Marcello and Damian show there queen who they really are and takes them for all that they are, darkness and all. For they take what they want without consequence, each giving Alex the pain and pleasure she deserve, their possessive and obsessive need for control and dominance, it was off the charts and had all of the feels.

Despite there trauma, they work well together in there own way, because nothing will come between them. They love each other, regardless of there differences, because they are in this together.

Cannot believe that this is the end of there story, but all good stories must come to and end, they got there happily ever after which proves that they are no short of being possessive, wicked and depraved, showing Alex who’s clearly in charge and who owns her heart, mind and body, it was bittersweet and oh so perfect, and one very well deserved for them all.

Highly recommend this book and author!

Review for the whole series.

⭐️⭐️.5/5
🌶🌶🌶

I read the first book of this series a while ago and didn’t really care for it back then, but I wanted to try this again now that all the books are out.

The overall series was alright. I almost feel like the true plot got lost along the way with all the sex scenes and drama within the relationship and then got quickly wrapped up in a very generic way.

I didn’t like Alex whatsoever. She was whiny, naive, and weak. She knew the Salvatore men were dangerous. They terrorized her for years yet she expected them to change over night once she realized she wanted them.

Also, the whole thing with Arlo pushing the marriage and whatnot just seemed to fizzle out. It was made to seem like there was an actual purpose for it besides securing their money/status, like Arlo was the big bag and was planning on taking over or getting rid of Alex after the wedding. But nothing came out of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What I reeeeeally didn’t like was that it was still clearly obviously that Alex loved Marcello more than the others. Her words in the studio just rubbed me the wrong way and I kept rolling my eyes any time she talked about loving the guys. How awful that would have been for any of her other husbands to hear? Knowing that he was still the first and only choice she would’ve made? Sososo disrespectful to their story.

I really like the writing style in these books which is the one of the main reasons why I finished this book. The other reason are the scenes between Bash and Damian sorry some might not agree but I think it is fucking hot.

But I think that this book (series) just went way to far with how they treat women in general. First they still depicted Drea in a way that gave her a really strong side which I really liked. Despite her mental health problems she gave the men some opposition and fought to get stronger but especially in this book a lot changed with her getting complacent in her health, exepting everything the men chose to do for or with her and in general just becoming a breeding machine...sorry to say it like that and I get that she wanted the kids but even that felt fake to me as we don't really get any scenes of her just interacting with her kids in a normal manner.

Also I do really enjoy the juicy scenes but the book really missed a lot of plot in my opinion...
What happens with Drake and the AI program?
What is with the girl in the container?
What happens with the Lucaya Group?
We only get a glimpse of the later sex life and baby's without a answer to any other question.

So in conclusion nice writing with way to many problems to be good...

Life was perfect for Alex and her guys. She knew that it wasn’t going to always be that way, but the other shoe dropped a little sooner than she had hoped it would. As they all find out that Drake has been taken, Marcello knows it is his job to help the Alpha team find him and bring him home. It also means Luca, Bastian and Damian need to keep Alex busy with Sofia to keep her stress at a minimum. When things don’t go as planned everyone has to put plan C into play. The guys work to distract Alex while Cole and the rest of Alpha work to find Marcello and Drake. This book gives off so many emotions. We get to celebrate the twins upcoming arrival, but there will be tears. I love this world that Jillian has created with Alex and the Salvatore’s. There is so many twists and turns and we get a few of them in Battle King as well.

This was a great bonus book that not only gives a glimpse of the Salvatore’s but also all the kids in the future. I love the extra little peaks we get from each of the guys and how life has changed as the years progress for all of them.

Great series - this last book felt rushed

I loved this series and although this book was good, it felt like almost the whole book was an epilogue. The story was rushed and the first 60% had time jumps that were confusing bc they weren't clarified.

Minor spoilers below

There is basically one dramatic event and that felt very rushed.

While I enjoyed the series and the wrap up, this book almost felt like it was written by a different author for the rushed feeling and how it felt like it skipped so much of the major stuff, particularly the brief treatment of Marcello's capture and recovery. I feel like it would've worked better to spend more of the book focusing on his time in captivity and the fallout afterwards bc it felt like barely any attention was paid to the kind of trauma that would result from that.

Again, I did enjoy this series a lot overall, just wish this last book had lived up to the rest of it.

I was really excited for this to come out after bingeing the first 3. It was a little disappointing, I really had to push myself to finish it. I enjoyed the second part that gives a glimpse into their future and I loved how far into the future the author took it.

There were lots of plot lines left unanswered which I’m thinking maybe there are other spin off series planned, but I didn’t enjoy that aspect at all it just felt unfinished and like fluff. Although Alex is pretty fragile in the first 3, I felt like she was portrayed overly fragile in the 1st part of this book. I also felt like the men were kind of dull and lacking all the darkness and morally grey characteristics that I loved about them in the first 3 books.

I really did not like most of the first part of this book, but I did like the second part which is why I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1.

disappointed

Not a massive fan on the bully troupe, but was able to enjoy the first three books, and enjoyed the story line and would recommend the first three books.
Personally I would have left it at 3 books. Jillian as always nailed the writing and the follow and cannot be disappointed there. But the story itself seemed to be inconsistent. For men that are repeated to go through months of training and to withstand torture, Marcelo seemed to break easy, also as Alpha Command, I was really disappointed in him and his development, I think he went backwards for forwards.
The love that the other three boys and their love for Drea was consistent, you see the family unit and the love and strength they have together. This was really well done.
So sorry Jillian for the low score, I just couldn’t get onboard with the plot for this book.

Honestly, I only read this out of obligation because I hate not finishing a series. But that’s 3 days worth of reading I’ll never get back.

While the premise of this series is awesome, it’s repetitive (so, so repetitive), and full of copy/paste sex scenes.

Something minor that annoyed tf outta me, was the constant use of peoples full names every time they’re mentioned, specifically Drake…

Also, they constantly go on about how powerful she is as their queen, but she never does anything to show that power (besides having an outrageous amount of kids). She does nothing for the knights and really, you could’ve left out the whole knights thing and the series would’ve been exactly the same.

This series could’ve been over and done with in 2 books max.

I always enjoy these characters and I really enjoyed the story. I will say though that some of the plot threads I felt I wasn't able to get answers for but maybe this is the author's ploy for a spin-off series.

Part II of the book is the snippets of each King's story that readers can or have already received when signing up for the author's newsletter. But it was awesome to have all those stories together in Battle King.

I'd love to learn about more of the Kings and maybe time jumping to all the kids getting their stories! How awesome would that be?!?!?!

Overall it's an enjoyable read and it made me happy!

My favorite thing about this whole series was the growth and development of the characters themselves and their relationships!
Marcello is called away on a rescue mission to bring Drake back, the rest of the guys know they have to keep Alex occupied with her being pregnant with the twins and having Sofia. All the guys, even Damian has taken to having a baby in the house. When things go wrong, the rest of Alpha have to go in to save Marcello and Drake. Emotions run very high in this book for all the characters. Still so many twists and turns. We also get the joy of the twins coming into the world! I loved all the extra looks into the future as well.

So I very nearly gave this book 5 stars however I had to mark down for the sudden jump in storyline. I didn’t like the way the storyline just suddenly stopped and jumped to the kids growing up - so we gave no idea what happens. I do however love the way we get to see the kids grow up even if it’s just little snippets. I feel it was a fitting end to the story. However now I wanna read a book based on Leo and Angelo as I can tell they are likely to follow in their farthest footsteps and even to this day Luca is my fav of the guys 😍

I have no words for this series. I’m a little disappointed to be honest. I really enjoyed The Boardwalk Kings series which is why I wanted to read these books since they were a spinoff, but I was not a big fan of the storyline. It was just so weird to me and honestly, Alex got on my nerves. My fav characters were Damian and Bastian and I liked reading about their story and journey together more. What I liked the most about this series was the hot scenes between Damian and Bastian and the steamy scenes between Alex and all her guys.

Yikes. This was the worst one in the series. It was only 175 pages and felt incredibly rushed. They tried to wrap up the last 3 books in that limited amount of pages and they just didn’t do a good job. I rarely give out 2 stars but honestly this book just wasn’t what I wanted from it. I mean im glad I read it and got closure for the series but at the same time it didn’t do a good job of wrapping it up so I still feel like I’m missing something…. I’m a bit disappointed

light and the end

Battle King is book four in the series Princes of Devil’s Creek by author Jillian Frost. This one is - gosh how do I describe a dark brooding tale with tense moments with the characters that ends with the best result. Don’t get me wrong some serious stuff happens and it’s grave. Hey there’s a lightness to this one. Oh and did I mention hot as hell! lol guess I did it.
Enjoy!!

3 ⭐️ - love the other three books, this one seemed mostly unnecessary, and most of the book was already available through the authors email list.

I am really hoping that this book is setting up a spin off series and that’s why this book is the way that it is. We have a few chapters of continuing story, where we find out what happened to Drake, but after that, the book is essentially an extended epilogue.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the extended epilogues, however I had already read them when I signed up for the email list after the third book came out. This book could have simply been an extended epilogue, and left out the entire storyline with Drake.

I am assuming the author is doing a spin off and this is just a prologue to that. Hopefully.

It was still written well like the others and the characters are still on brand, just not what I expected and kind of unnecessary

I Loved This Series

There were some open areas, but the series was nicely done. The character development is excellent and the action kept the interest throughout. It would be interesting for you to do a series on the next generation….I plan to read your parallel on the mafioso in Atlantic City and expect this will be good as well.

it wasn’t bad

This wasn’t bad but unnecessary in my opinion. Im not a big reader about kids and whatnot, but it was nice to see the differences throughout the years. And the way they worshiped her body while pregnant, honey, yesss!! The Marcelo story line seemed like a weird thing to add. This book could have been left out IMO. Like I said, it wasn’t bad but unnecessary.

So this is a mix.

The first half is a short tale of the Salvatores and Knights helping Damian Battle against a terrorist attack which in turn helps set up for another mini series!

The second half is full of epilogues years in the future really just showing how the years change and the children they have.

Cute way to round it off and finish it!

I was disappointed by this one. The story is too fast at some parts and too slow at others. Very choppy. All the sex whilst 7/8 months pregnant with twins was so unbelievably silly that it ruined this book for me. Best part was the last half hour which tied it up. Oh well…

Spice: 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

So much more spice in this!

Tropes: Dark RH, MMF, MF, MFM

I read this book slowly because I didn’t want the series to end! Honestly when I first started this one I didn’t think it was needed because the ending in book 3 was great. I loved the extended epilogue!

it felt like frost was finally building the plot that she should have started 2 books ago. rushed, messy (not in the good way), and pieced together, a somewhat disappointing end that could have been built out sooner.
