Depending on who you ask, Jeremy Phoenix is either the hero or villain in their story. Growing up privileged did not create an easy life for the named partner at Hunter, Phoenix, Genesis, and Prime. He’s gotten almost everything he’s ever wanted in life—except his father’s unconditional love and acceptance, and the position of managing partner at his prestigious law firm. All of that is set to change in a matter of months… if he can find a wife.
Driven, ambitious, and intelligent are three words often used to describe Maritza Amaretto. When she and her sister join Hunter, Phoenix, Genesis, and Prime, Maritza has only one goal, and that’s to advance her already stellar career. An unexpected kiss and request for her services as girlfriend for a day turn into an offer she can’t refuse—a year of her life as Jeremy’s fake wife in exchange for career advancement that both she and her sister deserve.
When the line between fake and real gets blurred, both Jeremy and Maritza find themselves battling their pasts for a chance at a future together and hoping the choices they make in their present won’t ruin their careers… and the careers of others.

I would have likely benefited from reading the series in order but if it's 1 thing I'm going to do consistently is read a series out of order!!!
Jeremy's parents are toxic as hell and specifically his relationship with his father has clearly had a negative impact on him. His dad gives him an ultimatum attached to a career move he desperately wants....enter Maritza and a fake relationship. But it's not fake for long.
Watching Jeremy and Maritza learn about each other and fall in love was so sweet. For a short book, their romance didn't feel rushed. They also bought each other expensive ass gifts and I love when a couple throws money around.
Alot happens in this book, from Jeremy navigating his relationship with his father and his career to Maritza dealing with the loss of her first family, to them both figuring out their relationship and future.
I'm going to go back and read the other books in the series because this book was solid.
I absolutely love this series and I am in love with Jeremy. The way he came through for Maritza was absolutely beautiful to behold. I am really liking the Fake lovers to real lovers romance and B Love delivered again!
3.75⭐️🌶️🌶️ This was the best book of the series. The chemistry between the MC’s was undeniable. The MMC, Jeremy, is top-tier book boyfriend material. Once Maritza got out of her head and opened up to Jeremy, their relationship blossomed. This was one of the best fake dating/marriage of convenience books that I’ve read in a while.
Jeremy was a pleasant surprise. I appreciated his emotional growth. But I was most impressed with how patient and gracious he was with Maritza. And it turns out he’s a bedroom yapper…we love to see it.
I was wondering how the author was going to redeem Jeremy since he had been a jerk in the previous 2 books. All it took was the right woman to see past that hard exterior that he presented to the world. When Jeremy's father puts a marriage condition on Jeremy to inherit his law firm, Jeremy ropes in Maritza to help him get what he wants. Once they spend time together getting to know one another, they couldn't resist the chemistry that developed between them and their fake relationship turns into the real thing. Once Maritza came to terms with the past tragedy th in her life and was all-in, she became Jeremy's biggest supporter. I especially loved how she lit up that father who was the worst. The mother was too. I was glad Jeremy finally found someone to love him for him. I was also glad that he and Milli developed a better relationship and he was hanging with the group. I'm greedy. I want spinoffs for Symphony and Sakura not one or the other. 😂 This was a good fake relationship book that you will thoroughly enjoy just like I did.
Title: Her Exception 3: A Fake Relationship Romance Author: B. Love Publisher: Prolific Pen Pusher Series: The Office Series Book 3 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Her Exception 3" by B. Love
My Thoughts:
"Her Exception 3" was a good love story about a fake-to-real relationship. What will Jeremy do when he is pushed to get a wife? Now, what better than a fake one? How does he make this happen? This all starts with his parents wanting him to get a wife before he is supposed to take over the business [HGP2]. But is this really why his father wants Jeremy to get married?
A lot happens in this story, so you must keep up with this good read. What problem was happening with Jremey's parents that caused so many problems for their children? By the end, the reader will have a complete story of how this will turn out for Jeremy and Maritza. Will this fake become real?
This book was good from beginning to end. Just go on and read it. If you haven’t read the series do yourself a favor and start from book one to here. Jeremey was in a lot of ways misunderstood. We get to really see how Mr. Phoenix and Mrs. Phoenix toxic relationship impacts him. Maritza and Jeremey relationship might of started off fake but by the end there ain’t nothing fake by this power couple. I loved how they showed up from one another. Besides the relationship between the two my favorite part was seeing sister and brother Amelia and Jeremey heal and actually develop the relationship they were supposed to have.
I would love to see what happens with Symphony and also what happens with Sakura. Can’t wait to read more.
This was a great book I really enjoyed reading how Jeremy and Maritza found love unexpectedly with each other that surpassed their dreams of what love could be. Especially for Maritza and second chance at love What started as fake turns “real” and it was beautiful B. Love wrote another beautiful story full of relatable characters with a believable storyline of characters you want to be your family and friends The ending was great and yes I want to see a spinoff of Sakura, Violet, Tim , Symphony And I definitely can’t wait for the weddings, baby births, etc Hope to read about them soon Stories about these people were sooo good!! Great job as always B. Love Your gift of writing is amazing!!
Jeremy wasn't the most liked person in the previous books but it was obvious it had a lot to do with his upbringing.
Desperate to please his father and achieve his dreams he has to marry and he sees an opportunity and takes it by kissing his new co-worker. She went along with it but wasn't pleased that he did that. Maritza is new to the firm and wants the opportunity for advancement just as much as Jeremy does so eventhough she wasn't eager at first due to her own personal trauma she agrees to be in a fake relationship with Jeremy.
It was nice to see how she was willing to open her heart after heartbreak and how Jeremy has done the work to be a better person than how he was initially portrayed.
I think they both complemented each other and I enjoyed the story.
Okay so..I thought Milli and Ru were my favs…BUT Big Bro Jeremy has won my heart! That man is a KING! Martizia was exactly what he needed. He didn’t have anyone in his corner for a long time and it caused a rift with his sister. I’m so glad they were able to mend their relationship. His parents were vindictive and manipulative—hurting their kids as if it would somehow make their own traumas disappear. I’m glad Jeremy finally stopped drinking the Kool Aid. Martizia’s story was heartbreaking and I could feel her grief, but I’m glad she let Jeremy love her. He was exactly what she needed.
Now I need Sakura and Grim’s story because I’m intrigued.
I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Jeremy and Maritza were perfect for each other. She gave him the support and unconditional love that he was lacking from his manipulative parents and he gave her a second chance at love and helped her see she needed to completely heal from her past trauma. I was glad to see Jeremy finally able to stand up for himself with his parents and call them on their bs and I loved that Maritza had his back and stood up for him when needed. This was a very cute and sweet story and I’m looking forward to what will come next from this crew. I would also love a book on Sakura.
At first I thought this was going to be same old boring story. However, having him be the first one vulnerable even when didn't want to....that opened her eyes a little. Her fighting it was not because of dominance by him but the guilt of moving on. I understand that. Also him really putting thought into his family relationship to better himself was beautiful with her support. His support of her even in her boss lawyer mode was great. When she felt secure in her relationship with him, suffering the guilt and coming on the other side to her heart gives hope to others reading this. Great story and can't wait for Sakura's book.
I surprisingly really enjoyed this read. I didn’t care for Jeremy at all in Amelia and Amaru’s story. Jeremy saw a lot of growth doing the story. His relationship with Amelia, his evolving, relationship and understanding of his treatment by his parents was something that was hinted at in the last story, but not flashed out fully. The relationship with Maritza was very unorthodox and eventually turned into something special. Jeremy’s dad was a piece of work! Like there’s no way parents are that selfish and controlling. Glad Violet redeemed herself in the end.
This book was exceptional from beginning to end. It was well written, flowed well and interesting throughout. Although Jeremy was not well liked, his biggest flaw was allowing his father to continue to manipulate him. His relationship with Maritza started out as false, but they actually fell in love with each other. Maritza was a gem. After she allowed herself to love again, she stood up for Jeremy against anyone, including his parents. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Oh Wow, books one & two vilified & dehumanized Jeremy! “Her Exception 3: A Fake Relationship Romanance (The Office Series) was a great read. Honestly, far better than what I had suspected. Jeremey was a neglected young boy trapped in a highly educated & professional “Counselor” man’s body. Victor Phoenix, attorney or not was the miserable, narcissistic, antisocial jerk nobody wants to be around. Consequently, Maritza & Jeremy were the ideal mate with redeeming qualities suitable for each other.
Maritza suffered a terrible loss and swore off love. Jeremy Phoenix had to get married so he convinced her she could basically come in as a partner in his father's firm if she consented so she hesitantly agreed to go along with it! He ended up wanting her for real and she finally felt the same way and agreed to give love a chance! Violet had to relinquish some control but thankfully, Jeremy no longer had to be his fathers puppet! This was a very good read!
Mr. Phoenix was something else. He wanted the worse for Jeremy and Amelia. I can’t imagine a dad with that mentality. Maritza was the bomb. She, despite tragedy was the real thing. Her love for Jeremy may have started out wrong but true love will always prevail. Beautiful story. Would love to hear about who the unborn baby has for parents. I am rooting for the biological mom. Sakura should be on deck in this series of successful lawyers.
Jeremy was a piece of work up until the end of the last book and I was looking forward to reading his story. Seeing that his relationship with his parents was as toxic as what Amelia had with their dad gave me a better understanding into why he was who he was. Without that toxic relationship, he would have never approached Maritza and given us possibly the best story of the series.
I enjoyed reading all three books in the series. I gave the five star rating because the characters were bold loving and passionate about each other. I would tell family and friends. I went through many emotions. The love and care they showed each other were what women want in the men they choose to spend their lives with together. I'm looking forward to more books about the other characters. Well done.
Ok so, I was not expecting this bo to go like this. This was truly a great read. Amazing from the beginning to the end. I am glad many of the issues were resolved the way they were. I am happy that Jeremy has Lovie and she has his back.
I hope we do get a spinoff for her sister. I believe her book will definitely be a journey.
I loved that Jeremy took over his life cause his parents were getting on my last nerves, in the end his mom true colors came out. That daddy was a piece of work I'm glad he stayed where he was all because of the woman that was by his side. Yes please do a spin off can't wait till next month for the next book
A spin-off of these couples and characters will definitely be appreciated!!... This book was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!...I didn't expect anything less from this author!!!...The life after death trauma had me in a chokehold, because you don't realize how much you punish yourself!!!...
Jeremy parents are a piece of work. Including his mother. So happy he final acknowledge it and addressed her.
Jeremy is just who Ritz needed to love her through the hold and hurt lost of loved ones still had over her. And she is just what he needed to experience unconditional love for the first time. This couple was perfect for each other
There was so many things I loved about this book, but the one thing that stood out the most was how patient and understanding Jermey was with Maritza. I started backwards, but I know the other two stories will be just as good as this one. If you haven’t got into this series, make sure you start today! You won’t regret it!
This book was everything and Jeremy turned into bae real quick. Maritza was the perfect woman for Jeremy, she made him want to be a better man. I am glad he got from under his parents thumb. Sakura definitely needs a spin-off book. This series is a must read. Good from beginning to end.
I was happy to see Jeremy soften and finally stand up for himself. Maritza was a smart woman and exercised that throughout the book. There are loose ends that need to be tied up. Mecca: does he get to adopt his cousin’s baby Jeremy: what happens with the family law case Maritza: does her sister stay with Tim Lots of questions!
Loved Jeremy and Maritza’s love story. They were destined to be together from the start. He was exactly what she needed to move forward and she provided the same for him.
The chemistry between the two was unmatched. They just fit so well together especially in the bedroom.
