Change is inevitable for all of us. This book is an amazing look at navigating change with faith through the lens of the life and ministry of Samuel. As a parish pastor I so appreciate the heart with which Pastor Kennedy writes in which he makes the scriptures accessible to all people. This book is an important addition to the conversation about change that all of us experience. Using the Biblical character of Samuel and the massive change he experienced through his life helps to frame a helpful way that we can experience change today. I appreciate that indepth questions at the end of each chapter which are good for self reflection, use as a family/spouse, and in small groups. I look forward to using this book for a sermon series and make it available for my entire congregation to help them navigate all the many types of changes we all experience in life with the confidence that we are not alone and the God who has been faithful to us in the past will be faithful to us today.

Every human being navigates planned and unplanned changes in life. In Unfailing: God’s Assurance for Times of Change. Chris Kennedy helps us see that even though we may experience overwhelming societal change or disruptive and distressing changes in our own personal circumstances, “this broken world will not remain as it is. Christ will return, bringing with Him a new heaven and a new earth.” Though the circumstances of this world are ever changing, Pastor Kennedy reminds us of a God whose unchanging nature is always good news. He then goes on to show how the Judge and Prophet Samuel dealt with radical changes in his personal life as well as that of the nation of Israel. Each chapter highlights parallels in the life and ministry of Jesus. Great questions for group discussion follow each of the 13 chapters, making this an ideal study for large or small groups.

Chris Kennedy has done it again. Every book of his that I've read spoke spiritual blessings into my life. Dr. Kennedy has a wonderful gift of sharing complex truths in a meaningful way that are both easy to understand and consistently point to Christ. I love the theme of this new book, Unfailing. Even in a world of constant change, some pleasant, and some not, God has a purpose and is there to lead and guide. The book brings in many Biblical examples of how God's people dealt with change over the centuries and have found peace by relying on their Lord.

At a time in my life in which I’m experiencing significantly disappointing and unwanted change, I could not have read this outstanding book at a better time!
Perhaps his most candid and authentic book yet, Kennedy beautifully guides the reader through this very difficult concept of “change” and leaves the reader with comfort and hope that no matter what we might face, that we are never alone in it. He does a great job of using Old Testament and New Testament examples and references.
If you need to be inspired at this point in your life, pick this book up and let it refresh you!

As with each of his former books, Pastor Kennedy writes in a style that is easy to read. At the same time, he takes the reader in-depth into a variety of texts around the theme/title of the books. By examining the changes in the life of Samuel, the reader is led to see that he/she has the same assurance that Samuel had for the changes one faces in life as a child of God today. Each chapter concludes with some good questions to help one focus on the main idea of the chapter. Pastor Kennedy has again shown how God's Word is relevant and applicable to our lives today.

I have taken our men's group through Pastor Kennedy's other books, and will likely do so again with this one. One thing that stays constant throughout life is that things are always changing. By using the example of Samuel, this book does a wonderful job communicating and applying the truth that even though everything around us may change, including ourselves, God never does. An incredibly relevant, useful truth for people in any stage of life.

During a season of my life with a lot of changes (new position, new baby, a changing and challenging world), this book was such a blessing. Looking through the lens of Samuel and others in Scripture, the reader is able to see that there is nothing God has not seen and no season of life that He cannot walk you though. There is so much confidence in knowing we have an unchanging God. This book is excellent for personal study and has great discussion questions for a group.

My friend Chris Kennedy has again proclaimed Christ. Change is a constant in our lives, sometimes it is positive change and other times it is not, yet Christ is with us in all of the change. Reading this book is a comforting reminder of God's unfailing commitment to us. Through the dynamic life story of Samuel, Pastor Kennedy reminds us about God's record of faithfulness. I enjoy his works because he has a talent for taking scholarly research and making it accessible and applicable to our every day lives.
