HANNA “The Beast is neither man, nor monster.” Something out there has its eyes on me, I can feel it from the shadows with every step. He provides me with the safety and protection I have sought all my life, from myself and the demons of my past. My heart will take a hit, but so will my enemies. Stepan may be the man behind the rifle. But I call the shots. And I’ve got my targets lined up.

This is the second book in the Volkov Bratva series, an interconnected series that can be read as standalones. It is highly recommended to read them in order for a better timeline flow. No cliffhangers, no cheating, and an HEA is always guaranteed!
Rose Chase, a dedicated nurse and loving mother to two boys, discovered her passion for storytelling in middle school on online forums and Wattpad. Through her skillful storytelling, Rose navigates the intricate dance between love, desire, and the shadows of human nature. When not saving lives or caring for her family, she immerses herself in the world of fiction, inviting readers to explore the depths of love and passion while confronting the complexities of the human heart.
Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book! Overall, this book was okay: Hannah was a great character and I loved how independent she was. Unfortunately, I just did not like Stepan. He had too many red flags that completely turned me off and I couldn’t get past them. This being said, if mafia romance is your jam, do give this book a read!
I received this book as an ARC. I thought the mafia aspect was well laid out and enjoyed that Hanna was an independent dominant character who chose when to be submissive and when to take control but found it a bit repetitive how she would constantly be annoying to Stepan and then be surprised she was getting punished. Watching her face her trauma and overcome it was a storyline that kept me intrigued. However, I did feel the story jumped timelines a bit which made it feel like sections of the story were missing.
Part of the Volkov Bratva series so make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Hanna is a sweetheart with a past that most wouldn’t have survive fighting the demons on a daily basis and she knows she is being watched but she feels safe with him watching for whatever reason she knows he isn’t going to hurt her or allow anyone else to hurt her. Stepan sexy as all get out stalker (sort of 😊) will kill to protect the ones he loves dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day, takes who/what he wants when he wants and right now his little angel. The magnetic pull can’t be ignored the more they try the stronger the pull between them grows and learning she is just as dark as him almost but where are they headed, will they have something more than a stalker relationship, and finding happiness?
Book Title: The Bratva’s Beast Author: Rose Chase Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

HE WHIMPERED and boy did I enjoy every minute of that scene.
This was my first read by Rose and can confidently say it won’t be my last. It was written so well, had just the right amount of smut, action and let’s be honest Stepan was the sweetest when he wanted to be! Lev was so bitter at the beginning of the book it was way too funny and Nikolai and Angel were giving some sexy vibes. I loved the couple but jesus christ Hannah got on my nerves at times (I’d like to clarify that those times were before she finally got with Stepan). It was a great read, definitely recommend it.
𝑻𝑾: Stalking, mention of child abuse
𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑳𝑨𝑰𝑴𝑬𝑹: As always, although this is an ARC, my thoughts are my own and this is my honest review. Thank you to Rose Chase for the ARC opportunity.

I really enjoyed this one and I think Stepan is my favorite brother so far. Now for any Mafia lover or dark romance lovers who wish there were more Blonde-haired, blue-eyed MCs here you go! The reason I think Stepan is my favorite so far is that on the surface he seems like the nice one and the most levelheaded ones who is just good at his job of supporting his family. But in reality Stepan's darkness and unhinged behavior is just simmering below the surface until he either blows up or something catches, he attention. Like Hanna who definitely catches his eye, but she is 1) resisting her own attraction to him and is 2) causally getting to know someone else who looks very similar to Stepan. So, in response he does unhinged things (I don't want to give away what he does) to get to know her, keep her safe and to warn off the guy. Like omg I didn't know he had it in him and I LOVED IT!!! I loved the chemistry between the two and how supportive Stepan was of Hanna either when it came to watching her beat people up or when she was being vulnerable. Hanna has trauma that she hasn't dealt with and is still learning to deal with it in some ways and Stepan is right there to support her and help her navigate it. They also have amazing spicy chemistry especially with the switches between the more dominate or submissive one. It made for some great spice. Overall, Hanna was a great and complex character who I enjoyed reading and was cheering on as she handled everything that came her way. Now I will say this while this was my favorite couple so far especially the MCs I do feel towards the end the story did drag on a little and there were time jumps that at the same time feel like something was missing a little in the story. I will also say I didn't realize the start of this book is happening in the middle of the first book. As each book is a standalone in the series so I thought this story would be following the end of the first story, so I was a little confused with how at the start of this book the characters were acting like they hadn't met when by the end of the first book they had all met as they are connected through the wife of the first brother. But I soon picked up what was happening a couple chapters in. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to read the next brother's book because I know the remaining brothers are the most intense of the brothers and there are three left!
This book is about Hanna who during the day is a freelance bounty hunter and at night works for her best friend who is the stand in head of the triad at the moment. She is trying to move forward in her career as a bounty hunter by deciding to join a company rather than continue doing freelance and what better company than her best friend's brother in law's company. Though she has only met one of the brother owners in passing she is surprised when she meets the other Stepan who seems to meet the prince charming specs to the T. Which means as attracted as she is to him, she needs to stay away not just because he is her boss but also, she doesn't do well in relationships. However, while on the surface he seems the mild manner of the brothers she seems to have forgotten under the nice suit is a bratva brother who gets what he wants, and he has set his eyes on Hanna, and he will do whatever it takes to win over the beast of the triad.
🖤"I am always here little tigress, always and forever. I am not going anywhere. I am going to wait for you, even if it means forever. Whenever you are ready, malen'kaya tigritsa, I will be here." Hanna is it for me.🖤
Hanna started working for Stepan and his brother, Lev. Both of them found each other very attractive from the beginning and their banter was really funny and entertaining.
Hanna is a badass FMC that doesn’t let men or anyone really, to boss her around and if they do, she will give them a taste of their own medicine.
Stepan fell head over heels for her and he was very protective and possessive over her.
🖤“I won't stop until you have my ring on your finger and my collar around your neck."🖤
As their story progresses, there are things from Hanna’s past that she has to overcome and Stepan is there by her side no matter what.
The way they fit together is amazing and their relationship is full of passion, care and love.
Some scenes were quite spicy 4 🌶️ out of 5 🌶️ I would say!
There were many plots twists, but the last one was the most shocking one, because it wasn’t expected.
I can also say that this book made me cry, because of the ending.
Thank you to the author for letting me read this book. Absolutely loved it!
🖤“There's no point looking at trash when I've got the world's most precious treasure in my arms."🖤
This mafia romance is the 2nd in the Volkov Bratva series and the first that I’ve read in this series. The FMC, Hannah has a big attitude and doesn’t take anything from anyone including men. She is the Enforcer for the Qing Triad (The Beast), and best friends with Angel from The Bratva Bride. The MMC, Stepan is the Volkov Bratva’s Second in Command, the sniper, possessive, fierce and hot as hell.
I enjoyed the push/pull dynamic between Hannah and Stepan. The banter was chef’s kiss. Hannah is hilarious. Their chemistry was fire 🔥. The suspense, darkness, secrets, and plot twists will keep you consumed and I’ll say some areas may even have you in tears. It had me. I couldn’t put it down, it was that good!
You don’t have to read the first book to read this one, I didn’t and I didn’t feel like I was lost. However I will say, I enjoyed this so much that I do want to circle back, then go forward. Definitely adding this author to my list to follow.
🎧Narrators - Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks - they both did amazing. They made the book for me. Loved loved loved Molly playing Hannah. They had me connecting more with the characters then if I just read the book. I could feel the emotions between Hannah and Stepan and they had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions and well as in tears. And whew the spicy scenes had me fanning myself, blushing even. Oh so good!! 👏🏼 5⭐️
I was so excited to listen to the second book in this series. I enjoyed that we got a little bit from Angel and Nikolia from book 1.
Hanna is an independent enforcer, trained under the Qing Triad. She is Angels best friend and how she got into the business. She is independent, but also a bit broken. She definitely had some scars and childhood trauma. She also wants a man who can “switch” with her. She may be small, but the girl is fierce and mighty.
Stepan is the second in command in the Volkov Bratva, the second oldest son. He is also the CEO of Volkov services. He is this big strong stalker man, but finds himself drawn to the woman he shouldn’t.
The push and pull relationship between the two was fantastic. And the banter…amazing! I absolutely love a good banter between MC’s. The two had a very spicy connection also. The dom/sub and BDSM shown was a nice addition.
I also loved how the author really gave Hanna many layers. Her strong side was shown, but also her vulnerable side from her past trauma. Also, I LOVE that her nickname was, The Beast!
ⓐⓤⓓⓘⓞ ⓡⓔⓥⓘⓔⓦ I am a big fan of the duo of Molly and Cole. I could feel the emotions of the characters as I listened. You could feel the passion too. They really brought these characters to life.
I loved Hanna. She was so tough but so vulnerable at the same time. The way she carried herself and took no sh*t from anybody, but suffered internally by intrusive thoughts from her past that dictated what she thought she deserved from life. She was a multi-layered character and I enjoyed her very much. Her development with the help of Stepan was very well done.
Stepan was the perfect mix of tough and sweet with Hanna. He was a great obsessive/possessive MMC. The complete unhinged stalking he ends up doing to Hanna just made me laugh. He totally knew what he was doing was wrong and that Hanna would k*ll him but he just couldn’t help himself.
Hanna and Stepan’s journey to their HEA is hard fought and filled with humor, banter and also serious topics and emotional healing. I enjoyed the plot. It is also very spicy for those that love spice and filled with k!nk, especially Daddy k!nk, which I’ve always been on the fence about but actually liked it with Hanna. I think it was well represented given Hanna’s story.
This book was brought to life by @molly.briar and @coleroberteubanksnarrates and they did a lovely job with it. I love their duets. They are real and emotional. No robotic reading from these two!
I really liked reading this book because of how Stepan and Hanna’s relationship is starting. Both are pining for each other I found it cute how he calls her little tigress, and then she calls him dad as his given nickname.
Hanna is a strong and resilient female character who is struggling to come to terms with why she doesn’t deserve to be happy in the midst of the situation between the mafia and her own identity. In attempt to deny her feelings for Stepan and that she wants him can only go so far until she breaks and loses herself to the point where he can becomes her salvation to the calm the fire in her.
Stepan being the mmc has me on a chokehold I like the way how he made his intentions known that he will do anything to keep Hanna happy and will do just about anything for her. Even killing someone for her has me feeling a little hot bothered.
The plot line of this book is strong with well developed characters, and I loved the spicy scenes of the book and it was just right not overly done. My kind of cup coffee.
"I am done playing by your rules, Hanna. I've given you your damn space, respected your boundary for us, but not anymore. I am going to show you that you belong with me starting tonight, and I won't stop until you have my ring on your finger and my collar around your neck." - Stepan
Hanna, The Beast, is the Enforcer for the Qing Triad, Angel's, from The Bratva Bride, right hand woman. She is small but mighty, physically scarred and tatted, and has the attitude of a brat. She doesn't let others, especially men, get too close due to her childhood trauma and burn scars. She and Angel are best friends, have been since Angel's dad took her in when she was just a child.`She was trained under the Qing Triad to protect Angel, the Qing Triad heir.
Stepan, the Silent Volk, is the Volkov Bratva's Second in Command and second oldest brother of 6 siblings - 5 brothers and 1 sister. Stepan is the CEO of Volkov Services, a bounty hunting and security service. He runs the business with the third oldest Volkov brother, Lev.
Stepan and Hanna meet when she applies for a job at Volkov Services. Stepan wouldn't usually hire someone with Hanna's shoddy employment history, but he offers her a trial period with the possibility of hiring should she show promise during her trial period. Stepan and Hanna both feel drawn to one another, but Hanna lays down a boundary that they can't be together because Stepan is her boss. Stepan isn't too keen to the idea of having to stay away from the woman he's highly attracted to.
Eventually, Stepan convinces Hanna to give into her desires. After doing so, all hell breaks lose regarding Hanna's past and childhood trauma. Her Aunt Lilian returns requesting Volkov's protection. Hanna is not able to move past her childhood trauma, but Stepan makes it his life's mission to hunt down and destroy all those whom had a hand in hurting Hanna as a child. Hanna is overwhelmed by his tenacity to protect her and help her through her trauma, not realizing that Stepan has childhood demons he's also fighting.
Stepan and Hanna's story is the second book in the Volkov Bratva series. Stepan and Hanna have a very emotional story; so if you're a crier, you'll need tissues. I certainly did. Just like Nikolai and Angel's story, I couldn't put down my kindle for Stepan and Hanna's love story. You do need to know that there are a lot of triggers in this book: BDSM, rape, CSA, childhood trauma, mental health issues, and more. Please, protect your mental health. That being said, it's an amazing story. I actually favor Stepan and Hanna's story over Nikolai and Angel's.
Overall, this was a good read. It started out a little slow and drug out for their romance. A slow burn till Stepan couldn't take it anymore and played by his own rules. I did expect a little more violence because it is a mafia book, but I was happy to read about their love story and what they had to endure as a couple. Spice level 🌶🌶🌶 but it had a nice happy ending. I love that Stephan treated her like a queen no matter how much shit she threw at him.Hannah was definitely a little spit fire. I liked that! I did not like how she always called him daddy, even out of the smutty scenes. That is not a "kink" I am into. It wasn't just in the bedroom it was even to other people she said she needed her daddy. It's a little weird, but all and all, it was a good read, and I'd definitely read the other in the standalone series.
Rose absolutely nailed this book about Stepan and Hannah! I enjoyed Hannah’s hilarious commentary and her and Stepan’s love story!
Hannah usually works for herself and is trying to take out the Qing Triad for her bestie Angel and herself. She wants no part of that life but then she wants to join the Bratva and try to be part of a group and have some stability. This is where she meets Stepan, 2nd in command and a hottie. She has some issues to work out and doesn’t think she’s good enough for anyone but she’s never met anyone like Stepan.
This book takes you on a journey of self discovery, healing, getting revenge on those that did you wrong, being phones with yourself, falling in love and most of all being a family! I highly recommend this book and can’t wait to read about all the Volkov brothers.
My Review is 3.5/5 stars! This review is also an ARC review!
Hanna is an independent woman who starts working under a member of the Bratva, Stepan. The two have feelings towards each other but Hanna tries to not acknowledge them since he's her boss, meanwhile, Stepan has his sights set on her and only her. They eventually get together, and we see them face some hardships with their Bratva lifestyle. I will say that my only complaints were some weird time jumps that were hard to navigate. My other complaint is that I felt that some aspects were quite repetitive. After a topic was mentioned in detail once, it's okay to bring it up again, but it doesn't need to be as in-depth again. Otherwise, I liked the plot and the character interactions were adorable. I am hoping to see more of the twins in the future as their dynamic was hilarious.
This book is full of suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets, violence, and maybe love at the end. Hanna is a sweetheart with an I'll beat your a$$ attitude. Stepan is a sexy stalker willing to kill to protect those he loves. He is dangerous, ruthless, deadly, takes what/who he wants when he wants and that includes Hanna.
The pull they have can’t be ignored for long. The chemistry is off the charts between them and he is so supportive of her. The spice between them especially the dom switch. I did feel the end the story kind of dragged on and Hanna's constant self doubt was a bit tedious.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to read the other brother's books because I know the remaining brothers are pretty crazy. Thank you to Rose Chase for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion. Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks did a wonderful job with narration.
Stepan, the blonde one, the sniper, the second in command, possessive af. Hanna the most skilled, feisty bounty hunter around! The Beast. This one had me. My jaw to the floor, scolding this man for the very wrong things he does! But man does it feel so right. A little bit of a slow burn here! The pining, the denial, the lust, and just wow.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into with this series, honestly. But not every love story can be perfect with the perfect morally grey characters or even happy sunshine characters. Sometimes the people who lean more morally black need love too, especially when their backgrounds should have led them to feeling no love at all. Every one deserves love, even those who are dark and dangerous.
Wow! This book was packed with content. It did not leave any stone unturned with the Triad and the Bratva and romance, and Angel and Nikolai. Hanna is such a force! But as you get deeper into the book it breaks your heart to find out what happened to her and Nana, and I felt for Stepan. Rose Chase gave me the vengeance I needed to keep reading, thank you for that! There were elements I found difficult to navigate, and some of Stepans inner narrative and content was not in keeping with his character. But overall the book was packed with so much content, had strong female characters, perfectly timed vengeance that was carried out to an appropriate level of gruesomeness based on the crime that it was an enjoyable read.
The Bratva’s Beast ✍️Rose Chase✍️ 🎧Audiobook narrated by Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks🎧
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Rose Chase is great at her mafia romances. Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks are amazing, yet again, at bringing her characters to life!
Hanna and Stepan have a push and shove relationship, and by that I mean Hanna has a traumatic past that makes her feel unworthy of love from the second born Volkov brother.
The way Rose wrote Hanna’s feelings and showed how her trauma effected her, including writing about Stepan helping her overcome it, shows such an understanding that it was a nice change of pace from some other authors who don’t show the overall of a past trauma.
I can’t wait to see more of these characters in the next books.
I really enjoyed this book! I found the characters interesting and the overall story was great. There are some sections of the story that were slower paced then others but I found it to work well with the pacing of the story. I love a dark romance and find that this author is great with establishing consent and the use of a safe word as well as showing mutual respect between the characters in using the safe word when/if needed. In my opinion, this book is heavy on the Daddy kink, which is not really my thing, but if it is yours you will adore this book!! I look forward to more from this author 😊
A huge thank you to the author Rose for allowing me to be a member of her ARC team ❤️
★ “Too bad this was no fairytale. There's no Beauty to this Beast.” ★
This second installment to the Volkov Bratva series brings Hanna and Stepan to the forefront, Hanna being Angel’s best friend. She was a tiny powerhouse nicknamed “The Beast,” a reputation which proceeded her on the streets, forged from trauma in her past. “My little tigress deserved nothing but the best, and I would give it all to her.” A reckoning will come so that perhaps she will soon be able to banish the darkness in her childhood.
Just one commentary that I thought it odd that Hanna had not met Stepan much earlier, given her relationship to the wife of the Volkov Bratva boss.
Blyat'! Stephanie Plum but make it a hot mafia novel with all the yummy dark romance. The beast is… well a BEAST. This had everything my heart desires in a spicy romance. Witty (and bratty) banter, characters you fell in love with, shocking tiny twists throughout (he was soooo wrong for making her think she was going crazy… but it was also…cute?), action, hella spicy scenes and tied up nice and neat with a HEA bow- in true bratva style, no less!
This book had me hooked. I really hope it comes out in an audiobook so I can read it all over again.
If you love dark mafia romance this is a must read! I loved the way the author structured the story. She had such great characters who stood out! Love how brave the fmc is and doesn’t sit back and take anything from anybody. And the fact that she would go out of her way for someone she cares about I instantly loved her! The way you can feel the tension between Hanna and Stepan! He immediately felt something different about Hanna that he offered her a deal she couldn’t resist even if it went against his list for employees.

I absolutely loved this read!! 10/10 I started it and could not put it down! I loved being able to see how these characters developed and grew with eachother! I also loved seeing other characters from the Bratva series pop up here and there!
Hanna and Stepan are such a cute couple and I loved getting to learn there dynamics! Seeing how they grew together made everything come together! The plot was amazingly detailed and seeing how it developed was great!
This book is so good. It’s sooo clear that the author has done their research on daddy doms and littles and age regression, and switches, and honestly everything in this book. It’s so well written. I’m in love with the characters and their development. She builds the scenes so beautifully It’s spice 🤌🏻 omg the spice is spicy and it’s so fuckinng good.
I’m in love with this book. It’s going on my favs book shelf. I love it so much
Great read. We learn more about the brothers past, more about the triad history, and get a independent beast of a woman who only shows her softer side (notice I didn't say soft, just softer) with 1 person. Laughed a bit, was mad a bit, end of chapter big events leaving you to read more or pause on a cliffhanger was just MEAN.... But done well and definitely kept me reading like I have nothing else to do with my life for a day. I'm ready for book 3, 100% will be reading.
Rose Chase had me hooked with the first sentence with Hanna and Stepan's love story. I couldn't help but laugh and almost spit my drink out several times. The spice level was on point. The slow burn was awesome. Who doesn't want a bratva second to take control, make you call him daddy, rock your world, and line up the people who have wronged you for you to make shark bait out of them. Me please. Molly Briar and Cole Eubanks really brought this book to life.
Stepan and Hannas story will have you hooked! You depth that Stepan will go to keep Hanna safe and his will habe you swooning in dark delights! Hammers can hold her own but with Stepan by her side they are untouchable. Well written engaging story and well developed characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
THIS WAS MY FIRST READ BY THIS AUTHOR AND I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I’VE READ A MAFIA TYPE ROMANCE BOOK. THIS ONE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! THE FMC WAS SO FIESTY AND INDEPENDENT, I WONDERED HOW THE MMC WAS GOING TO “GET HER”, BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY HE GOT HIS LITTLE TIGRESS! GREAT STORYLINE, FUN CHARACTERS AND AN ALL AROUND GOOD READ
