I receive a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
If anyone is wondering who Teighan’s biggest fan is, it’s ME. I’ve been obsessed with him since I read Cair, and that came out at the beginning of this year. So I’ve been obsessed this whole year basically. Do you know what that does to a person? I’ve been going out of my mind waiting on this book. The author of this book probably hates me because I can’t stay out of her dm’s and her social media comments. I’m always there, and she probably wants to beat me up. Anyway moral of the story is I’ve been chomping at the bit waiting for Teighan, and as soon as Gay Romance Reviews posted the ARC copies for this, I was the first one to request a copy more than likely. And Miss Eryn Hawk did not disappoint.
I guess you could read this as a standalone considering it follows a different couple than the first, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You’ll be pretty confused on what’s going on due to the overarching plot of the series if you just jump in with Teighan. But I’ll still try my best to tell you what’s going on.
So here’s the juice. This book follows Teighan and Alex. Teighan is a fae living in the fae side of the human world, called Edenglas. He’s a bartender at a Fae bar called The Veil. He’s also Cair’s brother, who is one of the MCs in book one. Alex is a human who teaches art classes to kids. He’s also Luca’s bestie, who is another MC in book one. Cair and Luca go on a trip, and while they’re gone, Luca asks Teighan to look after Alex. Teighan and Alex HATE each other. Well, that’s a lie actually. Teighan hates Alex. Alex just likes being a brat and messing with Teighan. It’s all fun and games to Alex, but Teighan actually can’t stand him. But it’s funny that while he’s adamant that he hates Alex, he’s also awfully protective of him and he can’t stop thinking about him. Let me tell y’all something. Teighan is so freaking dense in this. He never put two and two together and I was like HELLLOOOO!!!?? It actually got to the point that I wanted to hit him upside the head. He wouldn’t acknowledge his feelings, and he would get all defensive and take it out on my sweet Alex who didn’t deserve that. But anyway, I digress.
I really did enjoy watching Teighan and Alex getting to know each other and Teighan realizing that maybe he didn’t hate Alex as much as he thought. There is some groveling in this, though, so that made me feel a little better about his attitude. But they did learn about each others past, and they offered comfort to each other and it was so sweet. And don’t get me started on the protectiveness. We got a few “touch him and die” moments, and I was frothing at the mouth.
Speaking of my frothing, let’s talk about this freaking dirty sex. It was the best. So so so SO good. Teighan has got a mouth on him let me tell you. And a gigantic you know what. I’m telling y’all it’s so big to the point we got a belly bulging scene and we love that. Miss Eryn Hawk checks all my boxes when she’s writing spicy stuff. Bless her.
If you are a fan of the supernatural, grumpy x sunshine, fated mates, and size difference, give this book a shot. Or actually start with Cair and then come to this. And if you are still on the fence, check out this author’s twitter and look at the NSFW artwork she has of Teighan and Alex. If that won’t convince you then I don’t know what will. It’s so hot and the corresponding scene that that artwork is made from was just as sexy. Damn.
