If you thought that the first book in this duet was outstanding well, Loving Whiskey tops it. If there is one duet to read this summer this is the one. Brittanee Nicole is a new author to me and if these two books are any indication of what her writing and stories are, then she has another fan. Cash and Grace's story will have you craving for more with every turn of the page. The angst, spice which was hot as hell, laughs, at times, and the way that they have people in their corner no matter what happens is what has you keep turning the pages. Their relationship, at times, is volatile and full of hate but then they have the most beautiful connection with love and understanding. The hate to love you coming from Cash had me wanting to give him a shake and tell him to get his head out of his ass. He is pigheaded and cruel at times, but something deep down has him trying to change for Grace. The way that he was determined to win her back and his grovelling was perfect. Grace, although has had her world shattered by not only Cash but her ex and her mother, yet somehow seems to rise above it and tries to focus on the positive, which at times is extremely hard. Secrets, lies, broken hearts, healing, and second chances are what makes this book so addictive. Let's not forget the friends and secondary characters, Tessa, Cat and Jay that add laughs and fun, as well as some swoon-worthy men, Frank and Hayden.
Ms. Nicole's writing is outstanding. She has a way of getting you to love her characters even when you want to throw the book at them. I highly recommend picking up this duet and making sure you have a good chink of time because once you finish book one you will want to read book two right away. Whiskey Lies needs to be read before Loving Whiskey, they are not standalones.
