He is the one man who could destroy me, and the only man I’ve ever loved.
Jay Hanson has worn many titles in my life. Boyfriend. Enemy. Ghost.
Now he’s my boss.
I thought that was bad enough until he forced a new title on me…husband.
Little does he know I’m about to shake things up.
I’m not the same girl he broke all those years ago and life is about to get Extra Dirty.
Author's Note: Extra Dirty is Book 2 in the Extra Dirty Duet. It is a forbidden, billionaire, second chance romance with her brothers' enemy and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.
so many things to love about this book! having read the whiskey duet and then loving dirty truths, i was dying to have jay’s behavior explained, and extra dirty answered all of my burning questions. i love that jay and cat found their way back to each other.
+ this book made sense of all the things that bothered me in the whiskey duet, which was a relief! i also really liked the unique way that cat stayed involved in her child’s life despite giving her up for adoption.
- i don’t think it’s accurate to say that jay “groveled” to get cat back. did he make an effort? was he pretty wonderful throughout the entire book? yes and yes… but she also resumed a physical relationship with him almost immediately (the tiresome trope of a FMC’s body ~betraying her~) and “forgave” him very quickly after that, so i don’t think i agree that he had to grovel very hard to get her back.
this book also had one of my other absolute least favorite tropes- a MMC who has sex with multiple women (he did it to “move on”) and a FMC who remains largely celibate (she never has vaginal intercourse with another man because it was something she shared with the MMC and never wanted to experience it with anyone else. she also mentions that she’s too busy with her career to date). i’d hoped those roles would be switched in this book considering jay supposedly spent thirteen years pining for cat and cat spent that time watching him “date” other women after ghosting her. i found cat to be fairly sexually liberated in the first book, so this part of her story in extra dirty fell very, very flat for me.
this author has another book in which the FMC fully believes that she walked in on the MMC (her husband) having sex with someone, leaves him, and has still not been seriously involved with or had sex with anyone three years after she left. i would regard this as similar to cat being unwilling to have vaginal intercourse with anyone other than jay. it seems this author might be partial to her FMCs safeguarding their vaginas as an expression of their devotion to the MMCs (who they believe are actually having sex with other women). i won’t get into the internalized misogyny of that. 🥲
EDIT- after seeing a lot of debate about jay's celibacy here and on tiktok, i wanted to include the section in extra dirty that has been discussed in the comments for any interested parties (from jay's POV)-
"'...you're the only person who's ever been inside me... like that,' she whispers, looking away.
i'm catapulted back to years ago, when she nervously told me she was a virgin. like that wasn't the greatest thing i'd ever heard.
'wait... you've never been with anyone else?' i say, shocked stupid.
she shakes her head and sighs. 'i know it's not the same for you, so if you want to wait--'
'i haven't slept with anyone in years,' i rush out.
cat's eyes widen. 'what?'
i run my hands through my hair and swallow thickly. 'i wish i could say i haven't been with anyone at all. i wish i'd never touched another woman after you, but i honestly didn't believe we could ever be together. for a while, i tried--miserably, i might add--to move on. but the second i realized there was a chance, as soon as i put my plan in place to remove all the threats, that ended. i've been celibate for over ten years.'"
within the context of this conversation (discussing their sexual histories over the last thirteen years), i think it's pretty heavily implied that jay slept with other women during the first three years of their thirteen year separation in his attempt to "move on." if he wasn't sleeping with other women, what "ended"? i'm having a hard time understanding how their conversation could be interpreted differently.
i've engaged a lot on the topic of jay's celibacy because it's interesting to me and because celibacy between main characters in second chance romances seems to be important to a lot of people, but i want to close this review by clarifying that my larger issue with extra dirty is that cat was sexually repressed during those thirteen years apart and jay was not, and i'd hoped for better for her character.

Omg - I am so sad it is over! Ever read a book where you can’t read fast enough because you want to find out what happens while simultaneously trying to read slower because you don’t want it to end? Yep. That was me. 😂 So many answered questions and plot twists that have me wanting to do another reread from Whiskey Lies to this book STAT. I just love these characters and this world so much! Thank you tiktok for basically peer pressuring me into starting these earlier this year! 👏🏻😂📚
Cat and Jay definitely are a favorite couple for me! Romeo/Juliet vibes paired with misunderstandings and all the angst/emotions = Liv not sleeping much and making this book “unputdownable” (yep, I made up a word and I’m sticking with it 😉).
I have decided that Jay and Cash would both need to be my boyfriends if I lived in this world. Can’t/don’t want to choose between them! Brittanee creates solid book boyfriends that’s all I’m going to say! If you haven’t read any of her books…START. Whiskey Lies would be the starting point. You have until the 18th (when this one is available 👏🏻). I did receive this as an ARC and I am so thankful! 1000 percent recommend adding this to your TBR and preordering!
Another day, another author with internal misogynistic writing.
This book has: - 2nd chance
- Body betraying syndrome (at this point, I believe it’s required for authors to write them in 2nd chances because they have no creative agencies for their characters to ACTUALLY be together other than body betraying syndrome)
- Celibate FMC and fucking anything that moves MMC (the MMC said he had been celibate for 10yrs but the first 3yrs he was not because he was trying to “move on” and I ask the author WHY EVEN BOTHER. *Most* authors believe that it’s impossible for a man IRL to be celibate for that long BUT for them it’s also possible for a WOMAN TO BE CELIBATE FOR 13 FUCKIN YEARS??? Uhmmmm maybe they are talking about the author themselves lol 🫢. Also the notion that the MMC was trying to move on so he fucks his way to STDs is NOT APPLICABLE FOR FEMALES? WHY?? Why can’t woman be career driven and still has pleasurable intercourse?? It’s like the movement for evolution stepped 100 years back while reading this book)
Sighs. I thought these kind of books were rampant pre-2017 and was slowly dwindling as years passed by but it seems like there are still plenty of these types. Very disappointing specially written by a woman.

I found this author after reading her book, Mother Faker. I loved that book! I would rate it 4-5 stars. I couldn't get enough of the H and h, their kids and the other characters in the book. So, I am disappointed that I ended up not like this one.
I was 42% in when I skimmed the rest of the book looking for something. When I found out the H shares the h.
It is 500 pages. 80% into the book, when it's almost over, the H and h are married by this point, the H shares h with h's former lover (who is her brother's best friend and he also has his own book).
I've read MMF before, but it needs to be stated in the blurb. I am angry I wasted time investing in this couple who are supposedly obsessed and in love with each other where H has been celibate for 10 years and h has never had anyone inside her except ánålly, but all of a sudden, he is sharing her. Like she made a big ass deal of H having been the only man who had her that way, but she then all of a sudden took both men inside her at the same time, the H is guiding and directing them.
Also, I skipped to the epilogue where it's many years later, and the H says that over the years, the H and h continue to play with others. Also, the daughter ends up getting married to the son of the guy they had a threesome with.
There's a lot of indirect contact like in the first book of this duet, the h is bi and her first everything was with her best friend, Mia, who turns out to be a villain. Mia also sleeps with h's brother and apparently has a kid with him ( I don't know if there is a book for the brother).
Also, h's other brother is in love with a woman (they also have a duet) who used to be with the H.
It feels like high school where all the popular kids just dated each other.
There is just too small of a world.
I rarely DNF, but I am done. If I had known there was sharing, I would not read this. I read reverse harems, but I never emotionally invest in the characters. When it comes to the traditional romance (be it straight or lgbtq), I emotionally invest in the couples.
But aside from that, I couldn't connect with the H and h. It was practically 500 pages of miscommunication between them and members of both their families. If everyone sat down once, it would have all been solved.

This is the kind of book that leaves the reader with more questions than answers. I am not sure I want to slog through more cringey sexcapades to find out happens to these morally bankrupt characters, or where all their mystery babies are hiding.
Loved this ending for Jay & Cat’s wild ride. If you’re new to this series, I always recommend reading the Whiskey Lies duet first as this duet takes place not only prior, but during the same timeline & it helps knowing Cash & Grace’s story while reading this one.
Brittanée is one of my favorite authors who always knows how to write stories that leave you wanting more.
Really enjoyed reading this duet. Didn’t expect the ending for sure. And oh Jay, everyone needs a love like he has for Cat! He makes me swoon every single time. The things this man did to protect Cat even though it tore him apart 😍
I don't know how to sum up my feelings for this book....it is absolutely exceptional, wonderful, amazing I could keep going. I had such a hard time putting this down and just wanted to keep on reading. I loved it, it's the perfect wrap-up to Jay and Cat's story. I laughed, I cried and I didn't want it to end
SPOILERS
This book covers the second half of Jay and Cat's story mostly during the timeliness of the Whiskey duet, so you find out why Cat doesn't like Grace and why Cash hates Jay. Also Frank, oh my God Frank, so hot. I will also add that although there is a long time between the first and second book, Jay is still pretty loyal to Cat and is not the playboy everything seems to think he his during those years.

Audiobook 🔥. I LOVED this duet! 😁😭😳💔❤️🩹❤️🔥💯💋 the song title chapters. Spotify playlist. I am in awe when authors do this it gives Depth to the story. Loved how J fell hard fast and Never Wavered!! Perfect!🥰
If you’re in the mood for LOTS of drama that have nothing to do with the couple, then this is probably the book for you. This story felt all over the place at one point I actually yelled PICK A STRUGGLE. There’s just so much going on, it felt like more than just Jay and Cat’s story so romance was put on the back burner.
Jay allegedly “spent 10 years working to get Cat back.” *Teacher voice* Okay, well turn around and start over because I expected more after a DECADE of planning. Jay was an inconsiderate asshole. "I'm gonna try to win the love of my life back but I'm going to talk about how much I love another woman." Fuck right off.
Not safe:
Read on if you dare and don’t come after me if you do these are just is my opinions LOL
Not to be a negative Nancy a list of things I loved - Frank - Cynthia - Cat - Being there for your child is the bare minimum but Jay and Chloe were still cute - FRANK
Shortened review: Text left too much open to interpretation. Hero moved on too quickly. Loved the drama. Needed more romance. Not enough grovel.
I’ve been waiting for all the secrets to be revealed and I wasn’t disappointed! And the surprises I didn’t even know to expect? WOW. This is a long read, but doesn’t feel like it. It’s action packed and I couldn’t put it down. Nah and Cat are my new favorite in the series and Jay might be my favorite MMC from Brittanée.
It’s been 13 years since Jay and Cat parted ways, and that hatred on Cat’s end has only intensified with her own secrets. Jay will stop at nothing to get her back after all he’s done to protect her. When they both lay it out on the line, they have to fight their way to a happily every after.
The fact that the timeline intersects with the first duet in the series really enriches the world building. I feel fully intertwined in the drama of these billionaires and I love every second of it.
The use of music to not only tell their story, but to serve as transitions between past and present is genius. It’s truly a core part of their relationship and is a fun way to express their feelings.
This series continues to excel at the balance of drama and romance. I can’t wait for more, and genuinely enjoy the heck out of Brittanée’s writing. THE EPILOGUE!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I listened to the audio of this book as well. Again, Joe Arden and Stella bloom did an amazing job narrating! This was a perfect conclusion to Cat and Jay’s story! This book takes place 13 years later from where part one of the duet left off. I love Jay’s commitment to making things right with Cat! I just absolutely love how everything came together. So many ups and down and I don’t want to give too much away but I definitely recommend you read/listen to the whole series, starting with Whiskey lies!
I just finished both of Jay and Cat’s books back to back, yes, I waited until the duet was complete because I can not live without a full and complete story. I waited and waited for this duet and I gotta say, I am a bit disappointed. It was a lot…and so much of it didn’t make sense. Then so much of it was unfulfilling and not a great HEA. I am so disappointed the way the 2 families didn’t really get it together and absolutely stayed at odds. When they absolutely destroyed the companies then Jays poor brothers were left with crap. And after all the crap that took place even after some truths came out and the grandpa came too, nothing was really resolved. Cat and Jay weren’t able to share their truths with her brothers which was such a disservice to Cash and Cat to be honest. Just yuck. There needed to be a time for all the family to let it all out and work through it together. And I’m sure there might be more books in the future but this was imperative to THIS story.
Another thing straight out the gate that was an error immediately and throughout the book was the timeline. It states over and over it’s been 13 years they have been apart, yet their daughter is only 11 going on 12 …so was this a 2 year pregnancy like an elephant? How? Also, nothing was shown to as any relationship with the James brothers and Chloe and that is so disappointing. Seriously, your now showing us they are the opposite of what you showed us in Cash’s books. This is definitely a disappointment in their characters for sure, and the entire series. I mean all the bad stuff they had to endure then it just didn’t feel great even after the end.
Also, I specifically asked if Jay was with others on the authors tik tok page, while they were separated, and was told he absolutely was not. Well, that was a lie and I hated it. Yeah he was celibate for 10 years which made me madder actually. That means for the 3 after he immediately left her he was with all those other women he paraded around with. That’s worse. Like it took away from the supposed love he had for Cat. That took away from so much and made zero sense. He could have faked it for public, why did he have to sleep with them? He was the one who is supposedly crazy in love and irreversible in love with her and doing everything for her ect. Falling into some *&*&$ isn’t for her bro.
And how the whole Grace thing went down..no. Just no. I get that they were friends but he knew what that relationship did to her and when he forced her to work with her and told her he loved Grace…in any capacity it was yuck.
And poor Chase, like where the heck is he? How did they not tell him the truth? It’s ridiculous at this point. I know it fiction but it is just too unbelievable that nobody gives a crap about him enough to tell him the truth. And the grandpa…we really thought grandma was a real piece of work…ha! Grandpa was the worst. Jay genuinely loved him and thought he had his back and they were working as a team but he really just did it to take Jays company down. And nobody even called him on that betrayal. I dunno I duet a 3.5 at best. Spice maybe a 2.5 or a 3 . It had spicy scenes but they took away from the love story I felt like. Everything about this duet seemed like a big contradiction. 1 minute you want us to feel and think 1 one way then you immediately ruined that but having us see the opposite. It’s like supposedly so much is happening in the story but really nothing happens so it’s all super dragged out and slow. And really it took 13 years? The math ain’t mathing for me.
This is part 2 of a Duet, you’ll have to read Dirty Truths before this. So yes there are Spoilers ahead!
This was everything I craved for Cat and Jay. He worked his ass off for her and kept it up for the entirety of this book, one scene dreamier than the last. Even though I wished they didn’t have to wait 13 years for their happy ending, it clearly showed the growth in personality, especially for Cat; she was much more secure within herself and he didn’t play any games. Once they both agreed they would genuinely give all of this a second chance, they put all their past behind them, there were no more lies between them, they worked as a team. Everyone* was rooting for them and saw how much they were in love from the beginning. (*except her entire family, who were constantly bitching about old lies and never actually listened to her) I’m kinda sad that Cat’s relationship with her brothers was so broken trough almost the entire story but was all the more happy about her friendship with Jays brothers. Honestly there could’ve been more scenes with Chloe but the three of them playing out as a family was so healing to see. I really appreciated that they as a family and as a couple had so many happy scenes.
And between all this, don’t forget the spicy scenes, a hint: he bought a sex club (the one from Dirty Truths) and yes they visited and not alone!
Some of my favourite scenes/things Any scene with Cat, Jay and Frank; very hot and funny “Vodka martini… Extra Dirty,” The work emails, first full stalker mode to swoony declarations of love Jay and Chloe’s first meeting and their bonding over him picking out a song everyday for Cat and then Chloe the Daddy Daughter dance Once they got married only referring to each other as husband and wife “I swear if he could legally change my name to wife, he would.” Him getting a C tattooed on his ring finger because they couldn’t wear wedding bands yet when he asked Dexter to teach him how to braid Jay and Chloe changing their last names to Bouvier
Yes this book has a lot of pages, but I flew through this in one sitting and wished there were more.
A book for Frank yay, but in May 2024, how am I supposed to survive this!!
I’m not sure if there are books planned for all the Hanson siblings, they could use theme to wrap up all the lies this family has going on. Also felt there was something hinted for Jays brothers, so we’ll see.

This book was not what I needed after that cliffhanger in Dirty Truths. There needed to be some major changes in both characters and communication and groveling! Yes, the spicy scenes were amazing, but that's about it. Oh, and Chloe was adorable, and I loved her! Sophie and Dexter were also great. I hate Jay, and I hated Cat. Two extremely immature characters who couldn't be bothered to talk it out. They couldn't be bothered to have genuinely apologized instead of making excuses or growing a backbone in Cats case. I'm not one who enjoys the MMC when he doesn't grovel, especially after how badly he messed up. Instead, he blackmail her whole family and pretty much forces his interactions with Cat. I just didn't like him. I didn't like the dishonesty and the omissions of the full truth. I feel he didn't learn at all. Cat was also immature. She honestly should have had a backbone. Come on 13 years, and she can't even say no. She just grumbles. No, that's not believable. Nor do I care to read about a doormat.
It’s hard not to love Britt’s books when she creates these characters.
The ending of Dirty Truths left me SHOOK & I genuinely couldn’t guess where the story would go from there, but it did NOT disappoint. The plot twists & secrets that were revealed!
I laughed, I cried, I gasped! Multiple times.
Jay & Cat’s characters are swoon worthy in their devotion to all aspects of their lives, including each other & the healthy dose of realism that goes along with that.
I wish for everyone to find love like this! (Minus, you know . . . Certain parts of their story!
Woosh! The last 10% of this book was like a punch in the stomach over and over times a million. I had no idea where the story was going. I was mad, I was furious and I was heartbroken. Then you get the epilogue of all epilogue’s and holy wow! I did not see that coming.
Ok, backing up! First this story is incredible. Book one took you on an emotional journey, but left you broken hearted. This book picks up those broken pieces, throws in tons more, broken pieces and then slowly but surely pieces your heart back together! Have no fear though, because this book’s steam will make up for all the heartache. I mean I was sweating it was so hot!
Cat and Jay! Jay and Cat! You both are put through so much. If Brittanee could put you through it, she did. Which had me on the edge of my seat the entire book. This was a, can’t put down, need to read in one sitting story. You get all the answers you need, but a lot of surprises. I loved loved what this book threw at me. And the absolute best part, I love love love the angst and fire between Cat & Jay. They are so perfect for each other. Brittanee Nicole’s books are fantastic, fun and oh so steamy! I highly highly recommend this book!
I honestly don’t know what I was expecting going into this half of the duet, but this was no it! 🤯
I didn’t think anyone anyone could hold a candle to Cash James but Jay Hanson 2.0 had entered the building ladies and gentleman 🫠😍 The things he is willing to sacrifice for Cat 🥹 Seriously the perfect amount of bad & swoon 🥰🥵
& Chloe’s storyline 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Never read one like it & was totally refreshing reading a secret baby/ child storyline so unconventional and unique for one !
I don't know where to begin!! This book is phenomenal!!! The entire series is hands down my favorite reads for the year!! I feel privileged that I got to read Jay & Cat's love story!! The strength of their love and connection is like no other!! It was so intense that I was sobbing during a spicy scene!!! After reading Whiskey Lies & Loving Whiskey (the first duet in this series) I could not stop thinking about them so the fact I got this incredible love story and got to witness Grace & Cash from this point of view was 🤌🤌🤌!!!! I am COMPLETELY. IRREVOCABLY. HEAD OVER F***ING HEELS IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK!!!! I don't know how I will move on!!! The author is a genius!!! She is definitely on my favorite authors list!!!
Why in the world did the author chose for this book to pick back up 13 YEARS later???? I do not understand, like at all.
Yes, Jay was "protecting" her by waiting until whatever Mob dude died but come on, it was just completely silly and made me hate both of these characters and their over the top secrets. SO MANY SECRETS!
Like Cat not only having a child when Jay disappeared, but due to him not being around her mentor "adopted" their daughter to raise so Cat could have an amazing career as a fashion magazine editor? I'm sorry - what? Oh but don't worry - Chloe knew Cat was also her Mom. Phew. The author made it seem like she got pregnant at 17 - she was 21! And also, she is rich! It was just ridiculous.
OH and on top of that, she NEVER told her family - including her "best friend" of a brother. Literally hid in Paris.
I had been waiting for this book, and boy was it everything I wanted. I would have read it in a day if I didn’t have a job or kids. I did go so slowly through the last 80 pages because I didn’t want it to end. Jay is every bit the strong, but soft for her MMC we needed. The fact that he puts her above everything had me swooning. The spice took longer than I wanted but her present 🎁 😳🥵 Brittanee did an excellent job filling in the gaps in the timeline and letting us see the other side. I will say this book made me start to dislike Cash, which I did not think was possible because after his duet he was goals.
Can’t wait to see what she does with the other brothers on both sides (James and Hanson) also can’t freaking wait for Irish!!!!
Extra Dirty (Book 5 in the Boston Billionaires series) by Brittanee Nicole
5/5 ⭐️ 4/5 🌶️
I’m gonna say this once and only once: JAY FREAKING HANSON IS ELITE.
Anyway - back to the review. This book floored me. I waited and waited and believe me it was worth the wait. Being able to be back in Cat & Jays story was a privilege I am so so thankful for.
Answers are given to every question I had from the cliffhanger of Dirty Truths. All the reasons, all the secrets they all come out. Most of them at least.
I am happy that Cat makes Jay grovel. I am def not a fan of FMCs that just hear “I’m sorry” and all of the sudden the pants are off. I loved that he earned her he earned the privilege to love her - as 👏🏼 he 👏🏼 should. Cat is a dang queen and she deserves everything.
There are moments in this book where I’m like 🥵
Then 😊
Then 😭 😭 😭 <<— I am an ugly crier and I was ugly crying through some parts of this.
And then Brittanee in true Brittanee fashion - put my ♥️ back together…
The ending of this book has me so floored. I am talking 🤯. You do not want to miss it!
Extra Dirty is the completion of Cat & Jay's duet. Let me tell you that 600 pages and 80 chapters went by way too fast! This book has left me feeling all the feelings inside my head and stomach just as much as The Ravenhood did and A Love Letter to Whiskey (so if you're into super angsty and spicy or have read those this ones for you too!). It has left me in a legit hangover. I don't want to move on. You really picture yourself right know the mix. And the playlist is phenomenal too!
I am SO so sad this is over. as I wrote in Britt’s FB group; ever want to savour a book because you want to find out what happens and neeeeeed the answers to all your questions BUT also want to savour the absolute shit out of it? Cause yeah, same. THIS DUET!
So many questions were answered, from not only the first part of the duet, but also the whiskey lies duet starring cash and grace. It all clicked into place, and the time lines intersected and man it was just so good!
Highly recommended the Boston Billionaires series, (two duets and 1 novella) and what the heck, bring on “Irish”!!
This book, this freaking book.. I don’t even know if I have the words right now.. for how much I loved this book. Mrs. Brittanee Nicole, you had me on an emotional freaking roller coaster with this dang book. Laughing, then crying, then needed some dang cold water. Then crying some more. I absolutely loved these characters, and this world that has been created. And the way my jaw dropped several times throughout this book… With the ending of the first book, I was NEEDED this one. Like, I had to know what was going to happen to these characters. And I was not disappointed. This book, it was perfection. (Although I coulda done without some of the tears woman). And Jay freaking Hanson.. that man.. I love that man. Everything he did, and everything he went through, for Cat.. omgosh.. swoon. Lol. This book, it will draw you in, and hold you.. and not let you go. You will start this book, and the next thing you know, it’s 3 in the morning, you have tears running down your face, but you keep reading because you have to know how it ends. Read this book. Definitely recommend.
