Kat Nevidany lost her job, and believed she lost the best part of her life, when an accident took her leg.
Needing to find work, the ex-cop reluctantly takes a position as a Private Investigator. Her first case looks easy enough on the surface, a missing person. Things become increasingly complicated when Kat finds herself drawn into a world filled with supernatural creatures, and the case now seems so much more than it first appeared. Working for a werewolf, and hunting a vampire, Kat may well be out of her depth, but when the human victims are considered nothing more than collateral damage, she is damned if she can walk away.
I love when there's a mix of mystery and magic in an urban fantasy.
We get to know Kat as she's beginning to try and get things in her life going again after an accident that resulted in the loss of one of her legs, and the job she loved. She grapples with not only the trauma/sadness that resulted from those losses but having to immerse herself into magic she wasn't previously aware of as she starts work at a supernatural private investigation firm. When her first case is a missing girl with a lot more to the story than first meets the eye, Kat has to roll with the punches and the new realities she's being introduced to in order to track down a very dangerous villain.
This series starter has me very curious to know what's coming next for Kat, as well as learning more about the mysterious origins of the predecessor who paved her way into the magical world.
After reading Missing or More I'm adding Kylie Calwell to my list of favorite Authors! This book pulled me in on page one and kept me hooked. The main character Kat is a badass despite her handicap. Not only does she prove a woman can get it done she proves a woman can recover from a tragedy and get it done. Kat falls into a Magical world where she has to learn to fight by a whole new Supernatural set of rules. The characters are witty and fun. The storyline is original and addictive. This is a book you don't want to miss.
