really enjoyed how this story is different from many of the books I've been reading lately. Alexandra (Alex) is a very strong female lead character in this story but she still has some vulnerabilities and insecurities which remind you that she's human. I like how she's very smart and fearless with a love for and sense of adventure...ready for a challenge. She just doesn't expect that she would feel something more beyond what her job called for. Marcus is someone you just can't help falling for yourself as you learn more about him throughout the book. What I can most definitely appreciate is how events and circumstances took turns and twists that you don't quite expect which kept my interest up from start to finish. Ava Becker did a great job setting up the story and the characters and even more importantly, took you on this exciting journey with Alex and Marcus effortlessly. This is a HEA romance with suspense and mystery and just the right amount of steamy scenes.

Alex is tasked by the CIA to go undercover in British royalty to investigate drugs and drug dealing. She meets Marcus at a gala and there are instant sparks between them. Marcus should be completely off limits to Alex, though, since he's older (he's 45ish, she's 25ish), he's part of the people that she's investigating and he's royalty. None of that matters, though, and there is a lot of spice between them. When reality intrudes, the lengths that Marcus goes to in order to keep Alex in life are swoon-worthy and it's hard to believe someone hadn't already snapped him up!

The writing is great and it made it hard to put this book down. I read through it pretty much in one sitting and I would recommend putting it on your TBR if you like age gaps with a little bit of mystery.

Some people.She Was drinking in a bar when she met Marcus when she was paying the drinks.he had no cash on him so she paid for his drink.
Marcus was a Duke,He was given an opportunity to go on the election to become Prime minister.
At one evening when she was going to the book shop she was assulted by a man he was going to steal her bag but he came to rescue her.
They we’re attracted to each other,but because of the election they can’t be together.
Do love win over everything? Read the book so you discover this lovely story🩷

This was such a cute, fast-paced read. I loved the story, Alex is 20-something years old who gets recruited by the CIA to investigate drugs in the British royalty, and yes that does include sexy 45-year-old Marcus (a Duke). They instantly feel a spark & that's when things get very interesting & definitely spicey! (I'd say at least 4 chilies for the spice rating). It could honestly be a one-day read because the story is so cute you don't want to put it down. I was given an arch on Book-Funnel to read and I'm so glad I was because this story is too cute to pass up. I can't wait for more books from Ava Becker!

How far will their love be tested?

Ava Becker you absolutely had me hooked from page 1 with Marcus & Alexandra's story. Their story is a fantastic age gap romance between a British Duke & a badass female who is young enough to be his daughter. The steam & connection between them is off the charts but will British society & a secret destroy it all? I highly recommend giving their story a read. I can't wait for the author's next story.

This delightful story kept me glued to the pages and cheering on Marcus and Alex as they forge their path. When she agreed to work undercover for the CIA, she had no idea the feelings that would grow between her and Marcus and the heights he would go to have her in his life.

Great story!

Marcus was a Duke. Alex worked for the CIA. She had to go undercover as a student. She was fluent in German. She met Marcus at a gala event and she hit it off. She was supposedly pretending to fall for him, but fell for real. Things got a little out of hand. It is a really good book. You need to read it.

But reality intrudes and thing get very complicated. The writing is good and I would recommend the read if you’re not put off by male lead that isn’t very alpha.

This is a fun and entertaining age-gap romance with an engaging couple. There is some sleuthing and hijinks. The MMC will go to lengths to keep the FMC. I liked this book.
