Forbidden Billionaire Frenchman

Rate this book
Sebastian de Placy is the hot older billionaire Frenchman who sponsors my college scholarship.
I risk getting kicked out of Stanford if we are discovered.

One day he is watching me captain a field hockey game.
Next, we are burning up his sheets.

This sophisticated man consumes me, and I’m losing focus.
My future security is on the line by giving in to him.
Yet I can’t stay away.

Am I just a cliché, losing my heart to a beautiful man who keeps me at a distance?

I just wish he would have broken things off early,
Before a terrible accident made it clear what I had to do.

I’m usually not a fan of age gap tropes but this was so good! Had me question the HEA for a bit but the storyline and character development was well written. I need a French guy(;

I received this ARC for an honest review all thoughts/opinions above are my own!

Grace first meets Sebastian because his family is the reason that she got her scholarship so that she can attend college. He is taken with her and lets her know. She worries that she isn't good enough for him given that he is a billionaire and she's just a scholarship college student. He does and says some things that make her doubt even more that he is interested in a real relationship with her. Sebastian has to do a lot of groveling, which is not something that he's really used to. He's pretty good at it though, and she accepts his apologies. This is a really sweet story with just the right amount of spice and it builds naturally which is different than a lot of books.

There were ups and downs, happy moments and not so happy moments and moments that had you on the edge of your seat! But isn't that life? It's not everyday you meet a billionaire that happens to be gorgeous AND French though. So...with that, I found myself rooting for a happy ending. Sebastian is a typical guy in many ways. Frustrating, seemingly superficial and insensitive at times but you never know...he might turn around. I appreciated that Grace had a humble background and upbringing and that she held fast to her roots and to whom she was. I truly enjoyed this story!

I loved it. The book felt real, it wasn’t just straight to I love yous and the third act breakup. No, it was like a real relationship of does he like me, he does something stupid (which most men do) and then he actually realizes what is important. I’m probably not describing it very well but I really did enjoy the book. I’d say 1 1/2 chilies 🌶️ but a very cute story overall. Definitely recommend.

I enjoyed the story very much. It was elegantly written and flowed well. It’s written in third person and played right into my feeling rather detached from Sebastian. He’s kind of irritating and a bit full of himself. Pretty well written, if you ask me. Grace is young, charming, and determined. Their relationship is complicated, but that’s what makes it so good. A quick read with a lovely ending.

Great story!

Sebastian was a French an from France and his family gave the grant to a deserving young student. Grace was the recipient. After a time she finally got a chance to meet him. He was handsome and had a way about him that Grace loved. He thought she was beautiful and smart. After meeting there second time, they kissed. There were sparks, and May twists and turns. You have to read this story. It is hard to stop.

Grace finds herself drawn to her benefactor in this forbidden age gap romance. It is a heartfelt story that drew me in and had me all caught up in the drama surrounding Grace and Sebastian. Will their relationship have Grace losing her scholar ship.

Grace Lessing, a scholarship student and captain of the Stanford University women's field hockey team, meets Sebastian de Placy, whose family provided the scholarship. This story has plenty of angst, romance, and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Frustrating Man

I liked how quickly sparks flew between them. I didn't like how long it took Sebastian to get a clue. I liked that Grace had the patience, to deal with him getting his act together. Yes, I would recommend this book, you just have to be patient like Grace did, dealing with Sebastian. I would have loved to see a baby come out of their love, though.
