Syed Ali Ahsan (26 March 1920 – 25 June 2002) was a Bangladeshi poet, writer and university academic. He was awarded Ekushey Padak (1982) and Independence Day Award (1987) by the Government of Bangladesh. In 1987, he was selected as the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was credited as the official English translator of the National Anthem of Bangladesh.

বইটির কাহিনী আবর্তিত হয়েছে ভারতীয় কিংবদন্তি রানী পদ্মাবতীকে কেন্দ্র করে। রানী পদ্মাবতী ছিল এক অসীম সৌন্দর্যের অধিকারী নারী।তার রূপের অত্যাধিক খ্যাতি ছিল দিকবিদিকে। দিল্লির সম্রাট আলাউদ্দিন পদ্মাবতীর রূপের প্রশংসা শুনে মুগ্ধ হয় এবং তাকে আপন করে নিতে পদ্মাবতীর স্বামী রত্ন সেনের সাথে শুরু করে যুদ্ধ,বিক্ষেপ,কূটনীতি।
