Since my father’s death, I’ve been dealt one hard knock after the other. My life is a living nightmare at the hands of my stepmother and her daughter. Each day is filled with abuse, both verbal and physical.
Why? All because I was born an omega and not them. They make sure with each day that passes; I know just how little they think of me.
There’s one shining light in my life…my best friend Sasha.
She risks it all, deriving a plan for me to take my stepsisters’ place on a date. For once I do something for myself, and head to dinner with an unknown pack.
Kismet bonds are once in a lifetime, and while I should be happy to have one, I know I’m not worth the risk. It’s what I’ve been told for so many years.
So I bolt from dinner and make a plan to get out of my childhood home once and for all. Only fate has a different plan, and it seems my bonds have tracked me down.
They’re not the only ones, though. What we have may be Kismet, but my stepmother won’t stand for me to be happy. Now in true nightmare fashion I’m sold off to a pack who wishes to bestow upon me the one thing I can’t an Arcane bond.
Will my happily ever after come or am I doomed to live a life out of my worst nightmare?
*Welcome to the Murder & Mayhem Omegaverse world created by Cassie Lein and Bre Rose. All terms and explanations on how our universe works are listed in a glossary. You can also find the info pinned in our reader groups.
Cassie resides in Northern Illinois on a farm with her husband and six kids. When not writing she can be found reading or chauffeuring her kids or showing pigs. Cassie is a huge advocate for foster care and adoption. Enjoys a good horror movie, a dark romance, and alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol. You did just read she has six kids right?
So very much of this plot was unnecessary and full of holes. First this is only loosely based on Cinderella the authors tried to give it a twist. I made it to about 89% before I just couldn’t take it anymore and I skimmed most of it. None of the things that happened to Nadia ever needed to happen. I have a hard time DNFin so even though the first part didn’t make sense I tried to stick it out. Also there was absolutely no relationship development the fmc goes through her heat with the pack, is kidnapped, and by the time they find her they’re all ready to admit they love each other. I get how fated mates work cause I love the trope but relying solely on that in a 400 page book is pretty lazy. I read this because the author of another book with the same title mentioned it. While I appreciate her transparency this definitely wasn’t comparable.
I signed up for an arc of this duo’s next book in this series Entangled Beta. I started reading that as a standalone, then stopped because I felt I would get a better feel for these characters and a better experience by reading this book … first in the series, and it definitely did. And bonus!! … I already had this book.
I felt that the beginning of this book was rushed. Because of that the alphas were all interchangeable and I never got a good feel for any of them.
Nadia was bland and weak.
Best parts of the book were Sasha who is the main female character of Entangled Beta, and Joey the serial killer.
I have finished Entangled Beta which is much better ☺️. RTC.
This is a Cinderella retelling, but with OMV aspects. This book was a good read with the emotions at am all time high due to the situations that this pack had to endure, but this book was worth all of it.
This was a pretty interesting and extensive Cinderella retelling.
It's biggest flaw was that there was lack of flow with the story. It goes from 0 to 100 right in the beginning, feeling extremely rushed. Which I don't necessarily mind but a lot of the way it was written kind of made me roll my eyes. Like the dialogue between the characters didn't feel natural at all, it was very stiff and the characters tended to overexplain and go on frequent tangents that in real life would have been interrupted.
A lot of the characters also just didn't make sense. Clay is the prime alpha and yet he is the most submissive and is constantly taking orders from everyone else? Meanwhile, Own is the beta of group and is constantly taking charge and ordering the rest of the pack around. And only once does an alpha "need to remind him he is the beta."
Also the fact that the mfc is kidnapped and as soon as the pack gets the information they need to find her two of the pack go and have sex rather than actually going out and finally saving her after she has been captive for WEEKS?!
Also... a bit of a side note but as someone that has been 150 pounds, and I am 5' 7" so not a short person... I was not just skin and bones. Supposedly the omega is short too, I don't think it mentioned how tall she was but that whole thing seemed so inaccurate.. Also.. the stepmother is obviously fat-phobic and yet later in the book is rooting for a curvy person on a television show? Maybe that was just an example of how stupid her actions were but it was just kind of like.. out of place?
Also.. probably the most stupid mfc ever since she **spoiler** gets a text that her best friend has been kidnapped and instead of trying to call her friend or her mate's brother that is with her best friend, she runs off and meets two people that SOLD her to the pack that tortured her? Make it make sense!
Honestly, I wish I had skimmed more of it because I expected it to get better, but it didn't. By the end we still barely had a relationship between the mfc and mmcs outside of going through two heats.
Also.. this sentence.. "sweat pours down my face, mixing with the tears. I don't cry, though-" pg. 23 How you can you not cry while having tears down your face?

Please check TW's as this one is dark and gritty and oh-so-good.
What a ride this book is. I'm actually struggling to come up with a coherent review for this, but I'll try my best. This is an amazing take on Cinderella, set in a unique Omegaverse. I love the run down that Lein and Rose give at the start of their book about how their 'verse works - there are so many out there these days, it's nice to have the quick guide.
My heart broke over and over for Nadia through the course of this book. She is such a strong character (who doesn't realise her strength at the start), and you just want the best for her. But the twists and turns of the world she lives in don't allow that (as well as a few unsavoury people). Watching her grow, despite the heartache, pain and torment she goes through? It was character development at it's finest.
Her Kismet pack? Alpha's Clay, Ranger and Dexter, and Beta Owen, are all amazing men in their own right. Together they make such a strong pack who fight for what's theirs, even if it takes some of them time to come to terms with Nadia being "theirs". They truly are the perfect pack for Nadia - protective, strengthening, and loving, and able to provide Nadia with the revenge and retribution she seeks when the time comes.
Whilst this book is definitely dark, it has it's sweet moments, and plenty of spice is thrown in. Those heat scenes? I'm still fanning myself. There's also some great moments of comedy, thanks to Nadia's ride-or-die best friend, Sasha. She's an absolute firecracker, and the best possible friend for Nadia.
This is my first read from both authors, and they've definitely gotten a new fan; I cannot wait to read more in this universe!
I wanted so badly to love this book. But it really just felt like I was riding a really slow rollercoaster ride with zero thrill... and I just decided to call it quits! It had so much potential. And I really kept thinking... Oh, this is going somewhere... and then it would just fall flat. The plot was definitely there, and I liked it. It just needed more... and less at the same time. It was all over the place.
Not a fan. I really like the plot line. But that’s really it. FMC. Was the worst. I just couldn’t like her. Boring Meek. Whinny. Spoilers….Her mates were okay with sexy time with each other while she was kidnapped.. which is gross. Everything dragged on forever it was like blah blah 😑. The reason I gave this even one star is for the FMC bestie. She was a badass from the get go. She had the best lines. She stood out every time she was on the page. Team Sasha.
Cringe….😬 not very good, sorry. Changing POVs (which is the only good thing here). Omegaverse rh but felt like it was written by a 12 yr old. Cinderella vibes. Dnf 14% and I won’t be back. The flow was just 👎🏻
This is another book co-written by Cassie Lein and Bre Rose. This was the first book I have read in the alpha/omega/beta world. I felt like I had a lot to learn, but the authors walked you through it pretty easily and quickly so it was easy to understand.
This is a Cinderella retelling involving Nadia, her wicked stepmother, and her terrible step sister. Nadia's stepmother believes that her biological daughter should be mated to a pack and will literally do anything to make that happen.
When Nadia's best friend sneaks her out to meet the pack that her step-sister is supposed to meet, things begin to go awry. There is lying, kidnapping, abuse, blood, gore, disgusting people, and lots of deceit. However, Nadia has found her kismet bond in the pack. The question is will they be able to save her in time so that they can have their HEA?
There are a lot of trigger warnings in this book and I suggest that you definitely follow them and understand them before entering into this world.
The pack of four men and Nadia are perfect matches and I like the way their characters were developed. However, I would have loved to have seen a little more information on each guy in the pack. We didn't learn a lot about their history or how they all came together. It was briefly mentioned, but I would have liked to have seen more. All in all, this was a good read.
I love a good omegaverse story and this one did not disappoint, especially as it had a Cinderella twist on the story too. I loved Nadia, she’s an omega who has been dealt a hard time in life and when she finally meets her pack she hopes everything is going to change for her. It does, but not in the way she was hoping! Nadia is strong to have dealt with all she has and I love that although she might be an omega she refuses to let anyone walk all over her. Her pack have their own issues they are working through but they are all willing to fight for Nadia once they find her. I love how they all help each other without question and how they all enjoy her fiesty side but are happy to support her. The story was great and not something I’d read as an omegaverse before and I really enjoyed it. Great read and I’m looking forward to the next book in the same world.
I read this book when it was released as a novella and was left wanting more, was excited when we got the release date. I loved this story and the Murder and Mayhem world that the Authors have created and need more ASAP! Nadia goes from having a broken spirit thru many up and downs throughout the book to come out the other side stronger, confident woman.
Dark, omegaverse, Cinderella re-telling. Our Cinderella is Nadia, and she has a terrific best-friend, Sasha is a fierce fairy godmother stand-in. Nadia endures a lot of lot of trauma, both from her past and on page, so make sure to check the triggers. I loved seeing Nadia grow and become stronger. The story kept me engaged and going through all the emotions with Nadia and her guys. I really want Sash’s story too :)
Amazing story, couldn't put it down. Has you hooked from the beginning and just when you think things are going ok BAM Drama. Beware this book will make you want to call in sick for work just so you don't have to stop reading it.
I didn't love this, it felt a bit all over the place in terms of plot. I wasn't a fan of some of the words used during spicy time. Mushroom heads, tight pretty stars, and folds are not for me. I listened to it on audio and at times found the male narrator a bit cringy.
I am very impressed. This is not your typical omega book. I love that there is a glossary of terms in case the reader doesn’t know all of the terms in the Omegaverse. First book by these authors and can’t wait to read Sasha’s book!
I was not familiar with this Omega world/universe thing. As I started to read, the first “chapter” provides a brief background or summary of the world. I immediately thought “oh geez, I’m not gonna have the bandwidth to remember all these titles and special things”. I fully expected to not make it far into the book. That it would be too confusing.
Nope. I was wrong. I picked this book up TWICE. The first time I read to 60% - and I really didn’t want to stop but I had to go to sleep. It was almost 230am! The authors were able to capitalize on my curiosity by providing little twists and turns throughout the book. This technique kept me in the book. I started to imagine the characters and how they would act. I picked up the book the second time and finished it. I loved everything about it. I loved the energy between the omega and her pack. That’s probably my favorite part.
Read the triggers as there are some heavy scenes. (FYI. The heavy scenes didn’t bother me.)
Make sure you read the TW on the front of the book because it is a dark book. It does have a Cinderella vibe at the beginning with an evil stepmother and sister. Nadia has no say in her life according to stepmother. Nadia meets her pack with the help of a friend yet evil stepmother steps in and takes her away from them. There is never a dull moment unfortunately for Nadia. Nadia has to go through a lot to get back with her pack. The authors do an excellent explaining Nadia’s emotions. It would have been nice to know a little more background on Nadia’s pack.
I cannot emphasize how sorry I am to say that this was a horribly written book. The writing is juvenile and the characters are emotionless husks. I admit to not making it past the dinner with the alphas, but when every character comes off as a teen, including ones that are supposed to be a parent/step-parent. It was painful to keep reading. If all books from these authors read like this, then I definitely will not read a thing by them again. It really reads as if they told Siri to write them a book.
This is just horrible. The writing is basic and uninteresting. The characters are flat and one dimensional. The villains are predictable. It’s just drivel.
The omega is kidnapped and trafficked. Her “so in love” pack drag their feet about getting her back despite being described as a wealthy, influential, and powerful pack. Then there’s the fact that the pack are still you-know-whating with each other while she’s being abused by her kidnappers. Completely unreal.
DNF since it was just intolerable. I’d rather do my taxes than finish this book.
Holy crap I will 100% read anything that Bre Rose and Cassie Lein write (together or separate) and this story is one of the reasons why!
The roller coaster of a ride that this story takes you on is so wonderfully crafted that you easily get lost in the twists and turns that they have crafted to this introduction to this omegaverse! This is a Cinderella retelling with one less stepsister, a much meaner stepmother who will stop at nothing to make sure her daughter is the one with the successful marriage and 3 Alphas and one Beta who are so beyond hot that the pages literally sizzle anytime they are on them!
I loved Nadia from the moment that I started reading. Having lost her father and everything about her lifestyle that she knew, she managed to stay a somewhat strong cookie (I'm sure the help of her best friend Sasha kept her fighting even in the darkest moments when she would want to give up). Wren was downright awful to her, even going as far as to beat her when she didn't do something right, so it was absolutely amazing to see right from the very beginning that while she was being beaten down just for her existence, she didn't let go of some of her dreams. She may have had no idea how to obtain them, but she held onto them which I loved to see. I also really loved to see the growth in Nadia throughout the story, especially when her stepmother throws a wrench her way and sells her to a different pack behind the backs of Pack Skarlanthan, who she is kismet with but wanted to take things slow with. It was really sad at points to see the abuse that she has to endure in order to survive until her men can find her and the decisions that she has to mentally make on her own if she doesn't end up being found. I for one don't think I would ever have the strength to make some of those decisions but it was really fun to see her morph from this omega who is just trying to fly under the radar from her stepmother to this strong, fierce woman.
Clay, Ranger, Dexter and Owen were also some seriously hot men. Having lost an omega before but not the omega who was their kismet match, they were certainly hesitant for Nadia to join their lives. However, Nadia's charm wins all of them over and it was really fun to see each of them fall for Nadia. I also really liked how you got to see the relationship between Owen, who is their beta, and all of the men in addition to Nadia. Owen provided the necessary voice of reason to these men who as alphas are used to acting now and asking questions later. I think that level headedness gave another dimension to the story and kept these Alphas from going absolutely postal in their search for Nadia.
There was a substory in this tale that was also really fun to watch and tied back to our men and their previous Omega. I loved how there was an absolute psycho out there looking for an omega and playing around with betas in his search and wreaking havoc on the area. It was also really fun to see this psycho's interaction with Wren and just how karma really does catch up to some people (at least in stories).
I loved loved loved this story and already have Sasha's story lined up to read from a separate anthology. I can't wait to see what other stories get woven into this Murder and Mayhem world because hook, line and sinker I am there.
This writing duo is back at it again with one amazing retelling of a Cinderella with so many dark twists and turns you will wonder if it will end in a "Happily Ever After". Let's be honest a fairytale this is not especially with a murder, total mayhem, suspense, and four prince charming’s….yes 4 what did you expect with Bre and Cassie?
Our "fairy tail" starts out with Wren the evil conniving step-mother and her absolute terror spoiled brat of a daughter Lynnie. Wren is trying to come up with a plan to marry Lynnie of to the best Alpha Pack. In this omegaverse you are ranked as either as a Alpha, Omega or Beta. You can’t pick, you are born as what you are and it is only revealed around 13 years old. The best packs of Alphas are ones that are strong and wealthy but those type of packs are mostly looking for an Omega. Sadly for Wren her spoiled daughter is a Beta. Her Stepdaughter Nadia is an Omega, but in Wren's mind an absolute waste of an Omega because she isn't the typical body type of an Omega, thin and beautiful. But isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder? When Nadia's father passes away Wren abuses her mentally and physically, she makes the poor orphaned girl work like a slave in her own home, and she just can’t do anything right in Wren’s eyes. Just when Wren is getting desperate and running out of money an invite to the Skarlanthan annual charity auction arrives. She knows if she can get a date for her daughter with the pack they surely will want Lynnie and that will solve all her problems. So a plan is formed out of need of power and money but it most likely will cost Wren more than she ever could bargain for.
Here is where the plan all goes off course and with a twist, Nadia is rescued by not one prince charming but 4 from the Skarlanthan Pack The truth of Wrens deceitful plan all comes out and not only is Nadia offered an escape to come live with the 3 hot Alphas and a equally good looking Beta, but she is their Kismet match.
Unfortunately this is not the fairytale we all know and love and Nadia doesn't just ride off into the sunset with her Princes. Her Stepmother has a new plan to take Nadia and her men down. She is going to bring in some very horrendous characters to ensure that Nadia and the Skarlanthan Pack suffer for in her mind, crossing her and not choosing her beloved twit of a daughter Lynnie.
This is one retelling of the beloved fairy tale that you are going to want to get your hands on. It has more spice than you have ever read in any past retelling. My oh my the unexpected twists, you are going to want to buckle your seatbelts and keep your hands and feet in that magic pumpkin because you are in for quite the ride. Reading this you may loose more than just a glass slipper. In the end you will be cheering for Nadia and her Pack, but can they plan for all of the evil Wren has unleashed on them? Especially when she involved the help of some half cooked Beta's, that have so much jealousy they are seeking revenge against the Skarlanthan Pack and their new Omega? You may be up well past the clock striking 12, simply unable to put this one down until you find that “happy ever after”.

Nadia is an omega who lost her father and mother. Her father remarried an evil woman who had a beta daughter, Lynnie. They were in the process of trying to find a pack that would take Lynnie as their own. They have been using Nadia’s clothing to fool others that Lynnie is an omega. Nadia, meanwhile, was abused physically and emotionally by them. Sasha, the caretaker’s granddaughter, is also a beta who tries to protect Nadia.
When an auction comes, Wren, Nadia’s stepmother, ensures she spends the money to buy the best pack to meet with Lynnie. They agreed to meet her at a café. Sasha discovers the plan and manages to give Nadia her chance at happiness. When the pack meets Nadia, posing as Lynnie, they know she is their fated omega! She runs! They track her down, only to meet with resistance and confusion. When they finally grab Nadia, they believe everything will work out just fine.
They end up learning the truth of everything, only to have Nadia taken from them through Wren’s manipulations. From here, everything goes haywire! They will have to track her down, try and save her, and try and keep her! Wren and her cohorts will not give up easily and will do everything they can to keep her from their clutches. The last omega they had ended up murdered! They are running out of time and patience! The Foundation is corrupt, some of the police are corrupt! It seems everyone is against them claiming their omega. Meanwhile, they will come across evidence that other omegas are turning up missing as well.
This is a fast-paced high steam read! Murder, intrigue, suspense, and more are what you expect to find when these two authors write together! This book will fulfill all your needs as you read the stories concocted in their omegaverse! You will wonder if poor Nadia ever gets her HEA with the pack meant for her, or will she continue to suffer at other’s hands?! This is a must add to your library!
This was my first read into a full length omegaverse and it did not disappoint! This dark Cinderella retelling grabbed my attention and never let go! It is dark with detailed beatings/torture/murder. Please read your Trigger Warnings!
We follow the story of Nadia, Omega, who is severely mistreated by her evil stepmother and stepsister, Wren and Lynnie (both Beta’s). Ever since Nadia’s father passed away, she has been locked inside their house, made to clean/cook/serve Wren and Lynnie. She is degraded, belittled and beaten daily.
Wren sets into motion a plan to pass Lynnie off as an Omega to the richest pack that is currently in search of their Omega, the Skarlanthan Pack (3 Alpha’s and 1 Beta). Sasha, Nadia’s 1 and only friend, gets wind of this plan and decides to take action. Without giving too much away… let’s just say that Nadia gets to go to the Dinner Date set up by Wren, instead of Lynnie and finds out that she and said pack are Kismet (scent match bond)! As in any Cinderella retailing… she gets nervous and runs home! The pack, nonetheless, is able to track her down and witnesses Nadia attempting to escape by jumping out her upstairs window. It is then that the pack learns of Wren’s deceit and of the abuse Nadia has been going through since her father’s passing. They take Nadia back to their house and the story unfolds.
There is a ton of spice (Omega=going into “heats”)! Our Omega is kidnapped not once, but twice! She is degraded and beaten each time! Our Alpha’s kick @ss and torture and do everything and anything to find her each time!
Soooo many twists and turns! I love the detail in the entire story, but especially the torture! If it make me wince in real life… then it is superbly written! And the spice has me wishing I was an Omega!!!
I could not put this down once I started it! It is a MUST read of 2024!!!! Don’t walk… RUN and get yours!!!!
Oh lord. I don’t usually write reviews but I didn’t want people to waste their money. SPOILERS: The book itself doesn’t have a bad concept, it is just badly written. The character were very dry, no personality in sight except for one side character. The villains POVs threw me for a loop as they were much like the villain from Madam Webb (entire dialogue being “I’m the villain and I’m evil!”) just more detailed. I think that the biggest plot hole that I found was the end of the book when the MFC got a text from the two remaining villains to go meet with them because they had her best friend, and she went completely alone! First off, she KNOWS that only two of the villains are still alive, so if she takes her THREE ALPHAS AND BETA then the fight becomes 5v2 with alphas against betas. Also, why did she have time to take a shower but not think to text her best friend or the motorcycle club she was staying with to see if she was still there?!
Now about the “influential alphas” that did almost nothing to find her in the beginning except have sex with each other. Or how Sasha (the best friend) doesn’t show up until a week after the MFC has been kidnapped, claiming she has been calling her all this time. First off, she had the MMCs phone number, why not call him and ask if she was ok? Second off, if they suspected the stepmother to be the reason for the disappearance then why not go check her house to see if she is STILL THERE?!
There are more plot-holes but I feel I have made my point. What is crazy is I read this book because it came recommended to me, but I didn’t know the authors at first so I bought a different book, loved it, realized I got the wrong book, and got disappointed by this one. Again I say, the concept was good, I like the idea behind it, just very very poorly written, so please don’t waste your money or time on this halfway written book.
Anything by Bre and Cassie and you know it is going to be good and this book did not disappoint. A twist on the classic Cinderella story with a modern omegaverse twist. I would advise checking out the trigger warnings as there are quite a few in this.
A step-mothers sole purpose in life was to ensure that she and her daughter had everything they could possibly need the money, the wealth the name and she was willing to do whatever it takes to ensure her daughter is looked after even if that means making her out to be an omega to get her mated to the most eligible pack.
Then we have the Nadia the sweet natured Omega who was happy until everything went wrong, a step-mother and step-sister who are horrible and then the death of her father. There is nothing Nadia can do and she is berated and physically abused by these two woman, her only saving grace is her BFF who would do anything to help her which includes stopping the step-sister going on her date with the eligible pack and in turn letting Nadia take her place. An encounter that opens her eyes to possibilities and feelings but will she ever be able to have a HEA. After this one meeting things take a turn which ends with her spending time with the pack of four men her kismet match, but things take a turn as her step-mother isn’t going to let Nadia get a way so easily and to take the pack meant for her daughter. The story turns and we are engulfed with lies, deceit and kidnapping. Will Nadia get her freedom, will she get back to the men that are becoming her everything and will her step-mother finally get what she deserves.
This story is explosive and will have your gripped from the start and be warned you won’t want to put this book down. This story is well written that you will be feeling every emotion and turn that the story takes.
When I read an omegaverse I typically expect a fluffy comfort book, this is fed from that! I lost count the amount of times I asked myself what the hell did I just read, in the best way possible.
This is a dark, and I mean dark, Cinderella retelling and i feel that this was not only in the sense of the genre but also for the authors who haven’t ever written such dark content.
Nadia was such a great FMC. An orphan left in the hands of her psychotic stepmother Wren whose only goal is to advance in life and set her wretched beta daughter Lynnie up with a rich pack she is abused daily and frowned upon for being an omega. Wren goes to great lengths to get ahead attempting to trick Pack Skarlanthan by winning a date at auction with her omega “daughter” seeking to use Nadia’s scent on Lynnie to lure them to bonding. After intervention from the most badass beta best friend, Nadia meets the pack formed of Alpha's Clay, Ranger and Dexter, and Beta Owen finding they are kismet match. She is terrified and runs leading to a dangerous intervention by Wren and her associates - will they succeed or will Nadia get her HEA?
I devoured this book in both the best and worst ways. It was the darkest omegaverse I have read and the chapters written from the POV of the villains had my blood pressure dangerously high. I did feel though that this added a unique reading experience and I hope other authors adopt this writing style as it was unique for me. Safe to say I cannot look at a stapler the same again.
Aside from the fantastic storyline the spice was spicy as you can expect from both of these ladies so the tears were worth it!
Let me just start by simply saying that I am not typically someone who enjoys reading Dark Omegaverse romances by any means . But anything written by Bree Rose and Cassie Lein truly is the exception. What a duo these two make - so freaking talented not to mention two of my very favorite authors . Shattered Omega is a Cinderella retelling/ why choose romance with a twist that centers around Nadia and 4 men who could not be more different- each so complex true alphas with psycho tendencies and all around protectors . Out Female heroine Nadie - when we first meet her well she seems a bit timid but phew she very quickly evolves into this strong and resilient woman ( even with all the heartbreak she suffered through in her life she still ended up coming out the other side . Shattered Omega is the type of romance that is guaranteed to hook you from the very first page , keep you on the edge of your seat anticipating what will happen from one second to the next and leave you wanting so much more . It’s dark and raw and gritty , it’s filled with oh so steamy moments, heartbreaking and heartfelt ones as well , twists and turns, secrets , tragedy, revenge, revelations , humor , witty banter , angst , love , passion , obstacles, fated mates and so much more . In short it’s a emotional rollercoaster that will make you feel so many different emotions and keep you up reading well into the early morning hours . I absolutely loved every single minute and cannot recommend it highly enough 🖤🖤🖤
This was such a page turner; although Cinderella is the inspiration this is so much more than a straight forward retelling. I found this quite a tense read as although we seemed to be on course for a happy ending pretty quickly there was a whole lot of book left at that point! Just when I thought Nadia had been put through enough something else would happen; I thought this was going to take a really dark turn at one point (and there are some dark moments in this) but although the threat is there it never actually came to that. I liked how Nadia became stronger as the book progressed and how her confidence grew despite her circumstances. Even when she was at her lowest, it was all on her terms and never about giving up.
I really enjoyed Wren and the others outside the pack having their own POVs. I loved how completely deluded Wren with her schemes and I also liked the reveal of Nadia's father history with her as that has always been a sticking point in the Cinderella story for me as to how the wicked stepmother ever attracted the father in the first place. Sasha however was the absolute star of this for me; I loved her from the minute she pushed Lynnie down the stairs. I would have loved more of the pack themselves though as I didnt really connect to them individually as much but there was enough there that I still enjoyed it.
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
