Enjoyed this book and to be fair I have never been disappointed with any of this authors books. This is the story of the Cavanah family who leave Ireland after a failed harvest and been turned out of their home by the landlord. He gives them money to travel to Liverpool and then tickets to sail for America, during the journey from Ireland to Liverpool tragedy strikes when the ship they are on sinks. Kitty and her 4 children are trying to get into a rescue ship, all the 4 children manage it but when Kitty jumps with her newborn she falls into the water.
No more clues, well worth the read to here about the tales of this family
Enjoy

Collecting tags and nails to live

I quite enjoyed this book it found it rather long in the feeling and found myself skipping quite a lot. However I liked a kind of nice ending for Kitty

What a story, full of hardship for a family of Irish immigrants, proving that above all Family is everything, as it should be!!

A very interesting book by Libby Ashworth on how the Irish immigrants were treated upon landing in England in 19th Century.
