This is another review for another Kali Linux cookbook. This one is specifically for The Social Engineering Toolkit; a personal favorite of mine.

In the first chapter Social Engineering is explained.

"Social engineering comes from two words, social and engineering, where social refers to our day-to-day lives—which includes both personal and professional lives—while engineering means a defined way of performing a task by following certain steps to achieving the target."

The book covers some interesting topics from The Social Engineering Toolkit or (SET) which is a package built into Kali Linux. The book is well written and well structured. The book misses out the installation process of Kali and this is what makes this book specifically for Kali Linux. So keep that in mind.

Kali Linux Social Engineering goes into two two types of Social Engineering, these being Human-based social engineering and computer-based social engineering. These will give you an idea of Social Engineering in the real world and gives you a little bonus telling you about Human-based social engineering.

The Social Engineering Toolkit has a lot of very interesting subjects which are all covered in this book. The book includes Java Applets, Web Cloning and Phishing which are all very common types of computer-based social engineering and are very interesting to learn.

If you know how to install Kali Linux already and you're all setup and wondering what to do next then this book is for you. It will also teach you how to protect yourself through you practicing these attacks as you get familiar with how these attack works and things to look out for. So while it teaches you to perform attacks it also teaches you to protect yourself.

In conclusion; if you have Kali Linux all setup and wanting to learn Social Engineering then add this book to your collection.
