A fun collection of short essays on 99 episodes that defined America's television landscape in the 1990s. Alongside the usual suspects - The Simpsons, ER, Friends, Seinfeld, The Sopranos - we get some pleasingly niche cuts and left-field choices - The PJs, Cousin Skeeter, Silk Stalkings, Shop 'til You Drop, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. This isn't a hagiography, the author is critical of a number of shows, including some that are very popular. But the selections are always very well-justified and strike a great balance.
