Mia Marcus has long awaited a trip to her favorite South American country, Brazil. The summer of her sixteenth birthday, Mia’s parents grant her wish and take her and best friend, Del, to Recife, Pernambuco.

Instead, Mia determines to escape before she is forced to become a queen. It seems her plans are deterred at every step, especially by the Tribe’s most ancient enemies. Escaping becomes impossible, as well as chances of survival. What happens when the Tribe is under attack by three enemies, one of which wants Mia’s help?
