Big ol DNF
EDIT: y’all wanna know why it’s a 1*?
The spice level was fine. I’ve read other romance books with better sex scenes and more engaging spice. I DNF’d at the roommates story because honestly, I didn’t vibe with the non-con while the 2 roommates were asleep and inebriated. Hey, if you’re into non-con, go for it.
If you’re into barely passable sex writing, def read this. If not, you’re better off reading on AO3. 💁♀️Oh, and btw, if you wanna stalk me about my 5* reviews, maybe sort my Read list by rating. You’ll see much better books on there that have great story, writing, and sometimes spice. Oh and also manga, because manga has better story writing than this book collection. 👌

I personally love how this is a sampler for different tropes. You read all 10 stories and get a different taste of romance in each one. Highly recommend if you’re a smut lover or trying to figure out what you like to read! I felt like the authors writing style is very unique to her and I love that! I didn’t feel like I reading some copy cat writing. Her vocabulary and overall storylines were very detailed and different than what I’m used to reading and I loved that!

Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories. They are spicy and fun. As someone who has very little free time these are the perfect length for me to start and finish. Without spoiling the stories let me just say I found some new tropes to explore. I’ve never heard of this author before but I am glad I came across her. I have already told my friends about her and we all look forward to what she comes out with next!

These stories are well written. A lot more serious than I was expecting. Many times you come across short stories that seem rushed and thrown together but that was not the case here. Great reads!

Sooo good!!! I was an ARC reading for some of these stories but not all of them!!! Sooo many good ones!!! Incubus is still one of my top favs!!!! Can't wait to read the second volumn

I absolutely love hot and spicy novellas!
I always read a novella (sometimes a few or a compilation) after I have read a full story. Especially when you have a book hangover!
I was really impressed at how much detail and world building I got in these stories, that to me is a sign of good writing, when you can engage me so quickly.
These are just great spicey stories, I think I liked Incubus the best, and I was so happy to get her full story.
I am an ARC reader, but this review is completely unbiased and my opinion.

Harper, the evolution of your narrative is truly impressive.
In your most recent writings, the way in which you provoke in my mind the need for each insinuation to come true, the desire for what happens in the imagination of your characters to happen with each detail you put in the description, feeds the desire for it to happen firsthand.
I can assure you that I feel your narrative flowing through my pores...
INCUBUS:
A short story overflowing with eroticism and dirty images, those that have given my mind no rest, replicating there to the point of not being able to avoid feeling immersed in them... giving free rein to the imagination from the excitement they produce...where the beasts become avengers and give rise to extreme, unimagined pleasures...
Both qualities of life... on the one hand the instinct: irrational, subject to the hormonal, to the most primary of the essence of living beings, demanding to express itself as it is … with inevitable attraction… and on the other: expressing care for the creation of life…
THE RETURN OF INCUBUS:
It is worth imagining, and accompanying, and why not..., the erotic flight that the disproportionate size of the beast can produce in Daiya from the moment in which the possibility of being accessed by it arises and how desire is awakened in the woman now aware that everything is real and not a "dream" as in the first part of the story of Incubus.....
3SOME’S COMPANY:
Three to make a perfect couple...
There is no place for a NO to the pulsions when suddenly the bodies come together and the drunkenness keeps the conscience asleep but not the instincts...
SEDUCING PROFESSOR WATSON:
A professor intimidated to use the words he is formally forced to utter when caught by the seductive beauty of his student.
A great job managing the dialogue between them... verbal, gestural, physical and more...
GYM SHADY:
Private lessons... after hours... for an exquisite way to take advantage of the refuge provided by the intimacy of the last, unpopulated hours of a gym and to give free rein to their instincts...
HER VOICE:
Our thoughts can fly, our perceptions can shock us, our skin can stand on end, our heart can race, our crotch can get hot...
Until we find someone as Harper who manages to put all these things together and take all our eroticism to a new dimension, painting the watercolor of her lyrics in our imagination, feeding it with the ink of our most ardent drives, to lead us by the hand of her exquisite prose in a walk through our most intimate and unknown world of sensuality, making the characters take over our most primal desires and implanting their story in our imagination to elevate us to an exquisite level of excitement...
FROST BITING:
In the midst of an extremely challenging icy landscape, the risk of freezing to death is imminent for her, and can only be avoided if he covers her.... how is it possible to express so deliciously the idea that the most excitable points of the female body act "alone", "unruly", without permission... until you can lose control over them... !
CONTRITION:
You have the audacity to turn the whole stereotype of blocked sexuality, due to upbringing, status quo, or who knows what other reasons... a priest in the midst of the struggle between his drives and his vows of chastity....
And she arrives to make him discover the subtle connection of desire and the skin of the being, and tremble because he is alive...because she is there to awaken all his instincts....
CONFESSION:
Delicious is how, under the watchful eye of the stuffed animals and the shelter of the frilly pillows, she seeks to quench her pent-up thirst with him... perhaps bringing back to her memory the little moment when she tasted the flavor of the priest in the confessional....
LIBERATION:
He was convinced that what he felt and desired was what every human soul sought, to be with her, to let his hunger for her grow, all in the midst of his intimate debate between chastity and sin... all surrounded by images that are being created in the reader's mind guided by Harper's subtle and hot imagination.

Come One Come All
I have previously read some of the stories like Incubus, The Return of the Incubus, and Confession as stand-alone stories, so I did skip them and start with story 3. I also was selected as part of the ARC team, however I was too goofy to get the doc to download, so I just borrowed it from KU; works for me, that way the author gets paid too. 😀 This is my honest review regardless of how I acquired the book.
3Some's Company:
Double sleeping partners! Usually in a story with somno only one character is asleep. In this, only one character was awake. The other having had too much to drink to wake up. The roommates must be awesome, because I woulda totally kicked them out of bed, if stole mine like that.
Seducing Professor Watson:
She was good. I dont know that'd I'd have turned her down either. She was convincing. Obviously its a student and professor, you can get that from the title.
Gym Shady:
First, maybe its my age, but I totally expected a Eminem pun somewhere in here. 'Hi, my name what, my name is who...gym shady'
Also. Best line of the anthology so far: ' he could smell cucmber and danger the closer she got'
I am living for these women taking the men they want.
Her Voice:
Her voice may be captivating, but this womans ability to get hers and a contract signed, I think, may be more impressive. She is a woman using a man and his indiscretions to get what she wants and I am here for it.
Frost Biting:
There may be a frost bite coming on... oh no! I need an attractive scotsman so save me to. Especially with skin to skin contact... hiking up a mountain can be dangerous.
Contrition, Confession, and Liberation:
Is a 3 part priest tale. I have read it before as a standalone and its just as tasty the second time around. The amount of times the characters kept being in each other's presence should've told them that they're coming together ( pun intended) is probably out of their hands.
Over-all a great anthology of shorts. Little plot, lots of ladies getting exactly what they want and using these men. It was great.

Spicy short story collection
10 short £rotic stories in one book! Some of these have a little more plot than others, but mostly it’s just for the smut! I really enjoyed the majority of these, good for times when you just want a collection of short spicy stories to zip through. Spice: 5/5.
Incubus parts 1 & 2: CW’s for domestic abuse, prearranged marriages/cultural customs, size difference, tail play, lactation kink, death, pregnancy.
3some’s company: CW’s for drunkenness, drunk sleep $ex with roommates. FFM. Christmas time vibes.
Seducing Professor Watson: CW’s for professor-student inappropriateness. (FMC is of age)
Gym Shady: Two horny people getting it on in a deserted gym after hours.
Her Voice: An orchestra directer finds new talent, but she’s a femme fatale that is bound to make him forgot his morals about mixing business with pleasure. (Spicy times in the back of a car)
Frost Biting: Forced Proximity-Climbing a mountain in a blizzard, temps drop and body heat is needed to keep one of the climbers from getting hypothermia.
Contrition, pt 1: CW for doing it with a priest in a confession booth.
Confession, pt 2: One year later, she’s reacquainted with the priest in a homier setting.
Liberation, pt 3: The priest finally realizes that she’s what he wants to devote his life to.

I really enjoyed this collection of short very spicy 🌶️ stories 🤩
They where intriguing and short enough to leave you wanting for more. The
Be aware some of them are non-con and monster smut. But let’s be honest if you like reading smut than you know you have som dirty thoughts.
Seriously though I loved the way all the short stories are written. I just sometimes can’t imagine the way it happens because I can’t see how it is possible to have sex in the way that is described, but maybe is just that I can’t comprehend it 😅. I am talking about 3’somes company I really can’t understand the way it is described. But I really enjoyed the plot. My favorite(s) is definitely contrition, confesión and liberation. Yeah I am a baddie like that haha 😛😈
I like how well written they are, and how the author somehow writes them each in their own form or contemporary timeline.. I can’t describe it 😅 but it really sets you in the timeline of the story without having to describe it to the reader. I love it!! 😍
I can really recommend this book specially if you want some well written short stories to have some alone time 😛🌶️🌶️🌶️

Short and Spicy
This collection of 10 short stories is a quick read and perfectly crafted. Hitting some popular tropes, each story is sexy in a sensual way. Graphic descriptions help the imagination along, but not in an overly crass style. The few stories that are a continuation from each other are standalone scenarios also. I very much enjoyed how each scene, if you will, left me satisfied with a complete scenario. Despite each complete story bite having a sufficient balance of storyline and spice, some could definitely be expanded into longer writings (looking at you, Incubus). My favorites in this book ranged from an Incubus to a sleepy threesome with roommates to a priest, but some other tropes/fantasy themes include one bed, car sex, and a professor, among other things. If you are looking for some quick but thorough spicy reading, I definitely recommend this collection of short stories. I look forward to reading more from Marilynn.

If you are new to the spicy genre of reading, I highly suggest you take a look at this beauty. It has a bit of everything with tropes GALORE! The priest takes the cake for me though.
Going through each and every story seems a bit redundant since a couple of reviewers have already done that, but if you are into a tiny plot and a BIG... *cough cough* you've found the right book.
More than that though, this book was about women finding their pleasure and we don't see that often enough. Sure, there are books written by some where the woman is "enjoying" herself, but within these pages you could feel it. In every story there is a deeper connection that stems from a woman getting exactly what she wants for the simple reason that she wants it.
With these bite size stories, you could read them all at once or break them up in between your heavier books which is what I did.

Have you ever read something that you have thought about for years to come? This is one of those pieces of writings.
Marilynn absolutely knocked it out of the ball park with this one. It’s hot, spicy and absolutely addicting 🌶️🔥
I’m not normally into novellas as I’m always left wanting more of the story, but I couldn’t put this down. It may be a collection of ten erotic stories but it is filled romance and intrigue and I wasn’t sure what I was going to read next
Incubus did something to me I’m not certain I was prepared for and is by far my absolute favorite. I can’t wait to read what Marilynn writes next.

The Incubus story was the only one I truly enjoyed.
The reason why I didn’t enjoy this is because two of the stories ended with it turning out to be blackmail sex which instantly negated any of the sexy vibes that were there.
My biggest gripe with this is the one story with the two sleeping friends. If you have sex with someone (or touch them inappropriately) while they’re asleep, that is straight up rape. Made for an extremely uncomfortable and unethical story.
The writing itself was great, it was enjoyable, but I cannot condone sexual blackmail and rape.

This was my first time reading work of this author, but I did enjoy her writing a lot and will be watching for her work in the future.
The short story compilation was perfect for me lately with how crazy my schedule has been so I was happy to find a collection that I also enjoyed. Too often short stories feel rushed or shallow but I thought there was a good use of balance in this authors short stories. There was enough character building to still feel invested in their stories.
The spice was pretty dang good too! ;-)

OMG!! IMG!!
I can't write down everything I think of this book as I might get banned, but omg! The stories, the details, Definitely a book that needs to be read!
Once I started I couldn't put the book down, the stories just draw you in, each story takes a different turn but the spiciness just doesn't stop, if you are happy to blush whilst reading, then definitely give this book a read, it is a must.
I would definitely recommend, and I would definitely read this book again, in need of the 2nd book now!!

This book holds 18 stories written but the one and only Marilynn Harper.
Marilynn Harper has a very unique writing style! She grabs you head first and KEEPS you. The spice is STEAMY, you will FEEL everything…and I MEAN IT! This book, these stories HAD IT ALL! The way I was transported to each story was unreal! I’m very sad these short stories are over, I felt something so different in each one, but I’m excited to give a little glimpse of each here and send you over to Amazon to grab yourself a copy!
Marilynn Harper has a very unique writing style! She grabs you head first and KEEPS you. The spice is STEAMY, you will FEEL everything…and I MEAN IT! This book, these stories HAD IT ALL! The way I was transported to each story was unreal! I’m very sad these short stories are over, I felt something so different in each one, but I’m excited to give a little glimpse of each here and send you over to Amazon to grab yourself a copy!

Fun little read!
This was a great read to get me out of a reading slump! 10 short stories and a little something for everyone! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick read or wanting to test the waters with a variety of different stories! If I had to pick a fave it would definitely have been incubus! Can’t wait to read more titles by Marilynn!

Can’t help but want more…
These are some really fun and quick stories. The spice hits when it needs to. Each story sucks you in and makes you want more in the best way. You want spice? It’s there. You want taboo? That’s there. Each story is different enough and covers enough that it will fit everyone’s tastes. I really enjoyed these stories and I can’t wait for volume 2!

You won't want to put it down
I was one of the Master Betas who read the stories as they were being made. These stories are hot and toe curling. I have never read stories like these, and you may not either. Each one is different and better than the last one you read. I definitely recommend giving this a read!

good short stories
If you want spice this is the book compilation to read. Sometimes everyone is in the mood for less story, but good characters, and all the spice and this is the cure for all of that! I loved being able to have a book that too my out of my normal pace being stuck in series after series. Loved this!!

Wow!! 🥵
These were some SPICY short stories, and I ate every single one of them up!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 🥵 I enjoyed every single one of these stories, and I just want more! I think the scenes were very well set and did nothing but greatly add to the suspense and build up to the spicy. And, one it did get to the spice, it was just *chef’s kiss*.

Wowza!
I had already read Incubus and Return of Incubus so I knew Marilynn wouldn’t disappoint with a collection of her stories.
I love that they are all in one place to be consumed! Several SPICY stories that are short and fun.
Now, excuse me while I go catch my breath before getting into book 2!

Babbbyyy!!! When I tell you these stories be having me checking to make sure my bedroom door is locked, I mean that. These stories are detailed and makes you tingle between the thighs. I love how each story is different and still makes you take deep breaths and squeeze your legs together 😉. Marilynn Harper knows what she’s doing to us smut readers and I’m always here for it!

I probably shouldn’t have liked this little compilation as much as I did but oh well here we are. Each of the stories are well written and immersive. The last three stories are all about the same two people and they happen to be my favorite. Yes there is a lot of spice. Like a whole lot of it but the stories are actually good. I’m here for it. I’ll be checking out the next one for sure.

HOLY HAWT HAWT HAWT!!!
These were some of the most amazing and steamy short stories ever. The stories started innocent, but quickly got hot and steamy and finished with a climax wink wink. A cool shower was definitely needed after each one. If you like spicy reads but need a break from long drawn out books. I’d definitely recommend these.

The stories in this book are fast and spicy but oh so good. Each one is suspenseful and has a little bit for everyone. It leaves you turning every page and on the edge of your seat needing just a little more.
