What should a loyal wife do when her husband’s bully became their new boss? Hate him first, avoid him, second?
Well, I suppose anything but what I did.
I loathed his arrogance and maybe I should have despised the way his eyes were always undressing me, but those hot lips and powerful hands, and that tall, muscular frame, and …
Who was I kidding here?
I loved it every damn time he stared at me.
Yeah, I probably shouldn’t have sneaked so often into his office for not-work-related activities, but still, I did it.
And the thought that my husband could walk in and find me bent over his bully’s desk was only making me crave to do it more often.
No one was going to know how illicit my work-time hours were actually turning, right?
This story is an extra spicy cheating wife romantic erotica, with a slutty wife, a dominant alpha male, dirty talk with slight degradation, a HEA, and no pregnancy. All characters in this story are 18 years of age or older. This book is for adults only. All the books in this series are standalone and feature different couples.
I was excited to jump back into Evie Dawn's cheating erotica universe after falling in love with her story Sneaking Around with my Husband's Enemy. The premise is basically the same here. I thought we had more character building, and more fun overall in the other story but maybe that was because the whole concept was brand new to me, at the time. Sneaking Around with my Husband's Bully is the same thing with a different set of characters but same is good - these stories do what they aim to, create the perfect escape.
Starting out, I asked myself, how is Evie Dawn going to pull this off again, create another scenario where the other man becomes, not only a source of pleasure and comfort, but Mr. Right-All-Along. Well, apparently that's what she does and she does it really well. I'm not a fan of the concept of bullying in general but we get past that pretty quickly, jumping headfirst (and I mean fast) into a hot and wild affair that turns into love before you can blink. Heroine Elsie has some magical way of learning about hero Zane's demons behind the scenes (I thought that was a bit too easy and would have loved to learn how she actually pulled that off!) but I enjoyed hearing his backstory, which is deeply moving and made me see him in a whole different light. As with the previous title, I found the dialogue awkward at times but the premise is fun so you just go with it. You know what you're getting with Evie Dawn's stories. It's a happily ever after that will satisfy you long after the final page.
When her husband's bully becomes the boss, things start off a little shaky. But when he shows our heroine the attention she craves, things start to get really interesting.
This is a short romance story with cheating as the theme. The story is well written and easy to read with solid characters that have a nice depth to them. The plot is fairly straightforward, but still highly enjoyable and engaging. There is also plenty of steam. Overall, this was a very enjoyable evening read and I definitely look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Romantic? It's a humiliation story that paints women as nothing more than kniving and cruel creatures who will seek out the powerful man to get what they want. Watching her lie to her husband while literally destroying his career before ending her marriage in dramatic fashion was grotesque. In the real world, Jack would have taken the evidence he gathered to court, filed a wrongful termination and sexual harassment suit, taken his wife down with Zane, and then divorced while taking everything.
Unless you think home wrecking, workplace abuse, and lying spouses make happy endings, don't believe this one's summary. It's degradation.
I was recommended this book. This is a new to me author and I loved the spice and the character build. The husband is a big baby and didn’t grow out of it. I was open to trying the cheating trope and while the book does it well it’s not something I love and that’s ok. However, I still enjoyed the book for the most part I do wish it was longer.
I could not put this book down. The tension between Zane and Elsie is hot feels a little cat and mouse. I love that Elsie can finally be herself with her lover.
I really enjoyed this story the spice was great and the plot was exciting. I wish I had a little more info but all in all it was really fun and I’m definitely interested in her other stories!
