Little Lies

Tully Harding never got along with her sister, Joliet. She could handle the years of calculated torment and bullying until Joliet finally pushed her to the edge by stealing her boyfriend from right under her nose. Tully played nice for far too long, and she was done with it.

Eager to give as much as she gets, Tully sets her sights on Nathan Rondeau, the guy Joliet has been crushing on since the third grade. What starts as a simple plan for payback quickly spirals into uncharted territory.

In the midst of Tully's vendetta, Nathan, the happy-go-lucky charmer facing the looming threat of losing his father's financial support for college if he doesn't pull his grades together, takes the initiative. He proposes a daring deal—a fake relationship with the moody valedictorian in exchange for his academic redemption.

As Tully and Nathan navigate their unlikely charade, they discover that their little lies have a way of revealing deeper truths.

Tully and Nathan... wow!! A whirlwind of lies, feelings, and special notions!! This is my 1st book I have read from Talia Aden and it was great. The feelings This book brought out ranged from mad, sad (tears in my eyes) to jumping up and down to be Tullys cheerleader. I would definitely recommend this book.

Little Lies by Talia Aden swept me off my feet and took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I won't soon forget. From the very first page, I was completely engrossed in Tully's story, feeling every pang of hurt and every surge of determination as if they were my own.

Tully's strained relationship with her sister, Joliet, hit close to home for me, stirring up memories of sibling rivalry and the struggles that come with it. I found myself nodding along with Tully's frustrations and silently urging her to stand up for herself.

When Tully concocted her plan for revenge, I was right there with her, feeling the rush of adrenaline as she set her sights on Nathan. The chemistry between them crackled with intensity, and I couldn't help but root for them, even as I questioned the ethics of their fake relationship.

But what truly captured my heart was the journey of self-discovery that Tully and Nathan embarked on together. As they peeled back the layers of their personas, they unearthed hidden depths and vulnerabilities that resonated with me on a deeply personal level.

Aden's writing style is nothing short of enchanting, weaving a spellbinding tale that kept me glued to the pages until the very end. The characters felt like old friends, their triumphs and tribulations hitting me right in the feels and leaving me breathless for more.

In the end, Little Lies isn't just a story—it's a mirror reflecting the messy, beautiful complexity of life and love. It's a four-star masterpiece that left me feeling raw and vulnerable in the best possible way, reminding me of the power of resilience, redemption, and the enduring bonds that tie us all together.

I was fortunate enough to be a Beta reader for this book and it is in a word, delightful. Talia uses some familiar and comfortable tropes in a wonderful way. Nathan and Tully as characters are both endearing and also flawed in the most natural and realistic of ways. I found myself cheering them on audibly and laughing through their lies with them as the story had to evolve. All of that set in 1984 just gives it’s an extra layer of nostalgia and fun.

With some fake dating, chosen family, and main characters that learn more about themselves while getting to know each other, it is truly a book I would recommend over and over again!

Little Lies By Talia Aden 4/5

This was SO GOOD. Not even kidding. I’ve been in a slump since I started my new job and I could not stop thinking about this book! I actually had to watch Sixteen candles and Pretty in Pink just so I could actually see the vibes this book gives 😍

The FMC Tully is considered a b*tch and stuck up while her little sister is popular and always has it out for Tully. After her sister steals her boyfriend from her, Tully decides it’s time for some payback so she asks her sisters life long crush to fake date her and the rest is history. I’m a SUCKER for a revenge plot and fake dating. Not to mention Nathan is perfection ⭐️. This is a YA so it’s not spicy but the story is so cute and it’s perfect for anyone who has a daughter or son who is interested in romance but doesn’t want them to read the normal word pørn.

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and I'm now a new fan 🖤

I did really love the writing, nothing felt too rushed or left you sitting with a feeling of boredom the pacing was very very well done. It was interesting reading in a POV that I've heard from many friends, would be an accurate portrayal of a middle child or the invisible child. I was an invisible child myself and Tully was just *so* utterly relatable at times it hit harder than I'd expected

Now for abit of spoilers. Right from the jump I absolutely despised Joliet. Your typical mean girl, babied and spoilt rotten younger sibling. You know the type, the one you parents put on a pedestal and parade around as their favorite child. Everything she said drove me nuts and I LOVED the moments where Tully stood on her feet against her, more specifically the last interaction in this book with Joliet where she finally fully lets it all loose and their parents hear for themselves that Joliet has been actively tarnishing any "love" they could've had towards Tully.

Nathan is now a new book boyfriend. Even as her fake boyfriend he treated Tully SO lovingly and alot of their moments together had me kicking my feet or giggling with them and blushing🖤

The next time someone asks me for a cute, fluffy romance I'm going to be recommending and for sure adding this to my bookshelf🖤

I’ll never pass up a good fake dating trope but this book was so much more than that. The drama, the family dynamics, the relationships—I adored how they were all tied together. My favorite thing though: Tully didn’t like being touched (I’m pretty sure she’s autistic) and when Nathan found out, he constantly asked her “Yes or No?” whenever he wanted to touch her. It was, top 5, one of the cutest things I’ve ever read. He was respectful of her boundaries and discomforts and always made sure she was okay mentally and physically. The growth of their relationship based on her reactions to that question alone was enough to do me in.

I can’t say enough good things about this story. It made me feel so many things—got a few chuckles out of me, made me inexplicably upset, and even had me tearing up on multiple occasions. I didn’t expect this to affect me so much. After I finished it, I kept saying to myself “That was a good book”.

I’m not gonna lie, I almost DNFed it in the beginning because there’s this back and forth time lapse thing that I HATED. It’s not the book, I simply don’t like stories that do that very much. Thankfully, it only happened in the first few chapters. I stuck in there and in no time, I was locked in.

As much as I loved the ending, I’m also not a fan of stories that end the second the love interests get together, especially, when there’s so much more to the plot. I needed at least an epilogue of what happened with Joliet (that deranged psycho) and when they got back to school after break. What did Tully’s family dynamic look like after that?? How did school change for her? So many questions and curiosities! I’m super happy I got to experience this book and Tully’s growth. The latter especially was a good glass of lemonade on a hot day. I’d devour a book two that covered the second half of the semester honestly. Because somehow, I can tell, this wasn’t the end of the drama. This was too good!

This story was a whirlwind of emotions and loved so many aspects of this book. A dual POV story filled with 80's nostalgia, faking dating pining, and some of the sweetest and swooniest moments that will leave you feeling all the butterflies of young love.

The neurodiversity representation in this story truly melted my heart. Tully, the female main character in this story is neurodiverse and I loved seeing all the little things Nathan, the male main character, does to accommodate her sensory needs to make her feel safe and understood.
Conversely, the sibling rivalry in this story truly had my heart breaking for Tully. There were some sibling moments in this story that just filled me with so much rage.

I loved how effortlessly the story flowed. The characters are flawed but in a realistic and relatable way and I really loved reading their story. I also really loved that this book was set in the 80s and all the little pop culture references throughout the story.

Thank you Talia for the ARC copy of Little Lies. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. It was my first read by Talia Aden but instantly made me a long term fan. I fell in love with the writing style. The characters instantly pulled me in and I couldn’t put the book down. I really loved the uniqueness of the first few chapters, it wasn’t something I was expecting and it took some getting used to but it really helped make the whole story.

This novel had the perfect flow. It always kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a cute love story. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and this novel did not disappoint. I laughed and cried along with the characters. Definitely a new favorite.

Wow! This was my first time ARC reading so honestly I didn't have huge expectations, and I haven't read many indie authors before but OMG this took my breath away! I started at 10pm and wasn't able to put it down until I finished it so yeah...I didn't get any sleep. Tully is such a relatable character for me, as a middle child, and I loved her flaws and development. And Nathan...don't even get me started on him...he's one of the sweetest male characters I have ever read in my life. He is so sweet, so understanding, and I don't blame Tully for opening up to him because ---swoon--- he's the best. Just a sweet, cute read for anyone who needs something to binge on a weekend and well worth it. I plan on reading Talia Aden's other book next.

Thanks to Talia Aden for giving me an ARC copy.

Manwhore in high school? I just thought it would be a cute fake dating YA so slightly less notches on his bedpost. He's a freaking teenager!

"Her sleeping with Nathan was a little believable. She’d guess about thirty percent of the female population of the school could claim the same thing, but dating? Boyfriend and girlfriend?"

Some basic math... let's assume they have about 1000 students, 500 females. So I'm supposed to believe this super awesome hunk of a teen with and under-developed peen has slept with approx 150 girls?????? That's not cute. That's gross. Like... why??? Why is every "hero" a slut?

Omg this was so frustratingly good! I loved how everything in this story rolled so smoothly yet had me there like “They did/said what???”
it was very well-written & the fake dating in this was so good & love that it was set in the 80s!
Tully’s sister was super frustrating to read about because of the way Joliet tries to do anything to spite her sister in the immense lowest of lows… but justice was served near the end when Tully had enough of her sister’s BS, so loved the character development for her!

Tully and Nathan......just WOW! I loved getting into their story, the lies, plot, and "adventure" of their story is just *chef's kiss*.

This is the second book of Talia's that I have read and I love her stories so much. The way she writes, you feel like you are IN the story, not just reading it.

If you are looking for a story that is going to make you want to binge the entire thing in one day, I highly recommend THIS one! I can't wait to see what other books she comes up with.

Little Lies hits you with all the nostalgia and angst of a John Hues movie. The setting is high school senior year in 1984.  Tully and her sister, Joliet, do not get along. Tully's best friend comes up with the obvious solution: fake date the guy Joliet really wants. Nathan need a tutor. It seems to be the perfect arrangement.
With no cellphones or social media, will they be able to pull it off? Well developed characters have you hooked from the very beginning. I loved this book.

This book was so addiction I couldn't put it down. Literally read it in a day. I wasn't sure if the evil sister thing was going to get to me but Talia balanced it out with other strong female relationships that had me grinning and even crying at times.

If you are looking for a cozy easy read this is the book for you.

A fake dating trope...I liked the main couple. I liked the story. I did not likeTulsa's family (nor do I think the author meant me to). Their actions and attitudes were too extreme (for no apparent reason) and detracted from the story for me.

Such a cute book. Nathan & Tully become fake boyfriend & girlfriend, one to get back at her sister Joliet & he needs to impress his parents by bringing up his grades (Tully tutors him). Lots of emotions between them and lots of school/family drama. A must read!

This book was delightfully enjoyable. Loved the two characters and how they were both flawed but that is okay and worked well in this book.

This book is definitely one of my favorite romance books with the fake dating trope. Nathan is the love of my life guys haha, also the story is really good and it was funny, cute and sweet. I would recommend it for 13-14 year old, it has no spicy scenes but it does mentions it at the beginning of the book and in occasional jokes but it is clean. I finished this book in five days because I had school but I know that if I had had a chance I would have finished in two days. Over all five stars read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
