this book was challenging for me because it had a lot of new words I had never seen before

my favorite character was pan because he was childish and free spirited

what surprised me about this book was that this book was educating and fun

i would not change the book because it was so evenly spread across greek mythology

My kids and I dove into this collection of Kenny Curtis’s excellent and exhilarating retellings of ancient Greek myths and legends right after finishing the first book in the series. We also began listening to the podcast on which the books are based—both are fantastic! As the tagline goes: ‘The greatest stories in history were told in Greek mythology!’

Greeking Out: Heroes and Olympians is the very 1st book I've rated 5 stars in 2025 so far. Its' predecessor, Greeking Out: Epic Retellings of Classic Greek Myths, was one of the earliest books I gave a 5-star rating to in 2024. The 2nd book was just as incredible as the 1st. As I'm sure most of you know, these books are based on the Greeking Out podcast. Typically, this show releases 2 seasons a year-one that begins in April, and a second that begins in October. In 2024, however, there was just a single season released, the Spring/Summer one. I haven't heard anything to confirm this, but maybe starting in 2025, they'll just do 1 season a year. I mean, that's what they've been doing with Dancing with the Stars in recent years. Only time will tell if that ends up being the case with the Greeking Out podcast. Anyway, this book was an amazing way to hold me over until the podcast's return, should that even happen at all.

Luckily, I do know that there will be a 3rd Greeking Out book. It is called Greeking Out: Tales from the Underworld: Ghostly Myths from Around the World. It comes out in October 2025. But I think I'll stick to the pattern I've established with the last 2 Greeking Out books, and get it for Christmas. And I already look forward to reading it.

The kid thought th book was good. He liked that it had a lot of famous/popular stories. He kind liked that there were a lot of characters we read about in Percy Jackson
He didn’t like the real way you are supposed to pronounce Cyclopes. He thinks of all the gods in the book he would be friends with Hermes.

I liked th way these stories were written in modern vernacular. I also liked reading the original some of the characters from Percy. I would be friends with Hermes too. He seems like th most decent of the gods that made it into this book.

hero’s and zeros of Olympus

There are so many good parts in this book and some bad and sad parts but the rest is worth it for the sake of the story it’s more like a collection of stories like Hercules,Perseus,Apollo,Zeus,Jason and Odysseus .ect now for the zero like ixion, also Apollo (page 109),sisphyus and tantalus .ect

My kids and I absolutely love these Greeking Out books! They allow kids, mine are ages 8, 9, and 10, to explore Greek mythology without a bunch of inappropriate stuff. Plus, they're funny as well. Fingers crossed they make a third book at some point.
