When someone poisons a Santa Claus at the Blithedale Christmas Fair, Alice must catch the killer before the authorities shut down the biggest event of the year-and snuff out the town's holiday spirit.
But that's not What's the former owner of Blithedale Books doing back in town? And who's the secret Santa gifting books to people in town? These mysteries turn out to be more tangled than a string of Christmas tree lights.
Join bookstore-owner Alice and her friends in book 4 of the Wonderland Books Cozy Mystery series for a holiday cozy mystery that celebrates books, friendship, and the joys of Christmas.
I am a big fan of Cozy Mysteries and have read many , many different series which I love and am very loyal too. However, this is truly one of the very best series I have read in a very, very long time. This is so well written and there truly is a who dunnit. The characters are all so likeable and down to earth. I have read all 4 in this series and am hoping that there are many more to come. I can't recommend this book and the other 3 in the series highly enough! They are wonderful!! Please!!! Let there be more!
Ahhh… I do love dropping back into the town of Blithedale!
And once again, a very fun, very cosy murder mystery. And even though it's not the best time of year to read it, I couldn't stop myself. I just wanted to be back with Alice and her friends Ona and Becca.
The story of this one was really intriguing. Not only were there multiple layers once again, but also really kept you guessing who the killer was. The main plot of course follows the murder of a man, the husband of the organizer of the Christmas fair. He is found dead in his trailer, but to those who are close to him... this comes as no surprise. Why was this man hated? Not only that, but Bunce, the original owner of Alice's mum's bookstore is back in Town. And he is Santa?! Why would this horrible man come back? If this wasn't enough, there is also a mysterious Secret Santa who is giving out the 2nd (or later) book in a series, only to have them come back to Alice at Wonderland Bookshop to buy the first. Will Alice find out all the information from these various mysteries?
I really enjoyed how cosy A Christmas to Die For felt. Not only are you back with Alice, who like previous books, enjoys being together with her good friends Ona, and Becca. With their help, Alice is able to start piecing together the various mysterious that have fallen upon Blithedale.
I am very curious to see how the following book will continue with their continued friendship.
“Alice loved the thousands of ways that books affected people. Stories made them happy, and sad, and curious-and, yes, even aroused. And dozy, too, of course.”
In case you haven't had enough of the Christmas Spirit, check out book 4 of the Woodlands books series for even more Christmas magic! Of course, there’s also a murder that threatens to spoil Blithedale’s Christmas cheer.
It is the Christmas season in Blithedale & Alice and the other residents are preparing for the Christmas Fair and a Santa Contest. While famous author, Clyde Digby, is at Wonderland Books doing a book reading from his latest book, the children at the book store are waiting for Santa to arrive for a Christmas reading. When Santa is late, and the kids are getting restless, Alice heads over to the Christmas fair to find him and she does find him...dead! Who could have killed Santa!!! With the police chief being incompetent and is always finding a reason not to work, Alice finds herself putting on her sleuthing hat once again to solve a murder. There are plenty of suspects. Come to find out no one really liked him, not even his wife.
There are plenty of mysteries in this story. What is the ex owner of the Blithedalel bookstore doing back in town? He is supposed to be retired in FL and here he is in a Santa costume. Who is the secret Santa that is gifting books to residents around town? Oh what a tangled web we weave!! Alice might have met her challenge with these mysteries to solve.
Join Alice and her friends on yet another roller coaster ride to solve a murder and the other mysteries. This is a good book and once again, the author twists the tale in such a way that when the reader thinks they have the mystery solved, it takes yet another turn that makes you question
I very much enjoyed these books and was shocked and suprised with the ending which is fantastic for a whole done it book. I felt a little weird reading a Christmas book in a series when it’s not Christmas time but that’s my personal preference I guess. It did however make me feel very cozy and comfortable. I love all the characters as well and the fact they are all down to earth, friendly and likeable :)
