Rate this book
Betrayed and left for dead by members of the Soleil Clan, Piggy and his sister must fight against an overwhelming monster. Although they come out victorious, the battle leaves Piggy a shell of his former self. The siblings now have to dive deeper into the dungeon to enlist the help of a fiend to heal him. Piggy vows revenge on Soleil, but acting soon would put his family at risk. The only solution? A family trip to the dungeon to slaughter some monsters!

Meanwhile, Akagi’s defeat has soured the mood in Class E and bolstered the rest of the school to keep them on their knees. Piggy will need to keep his true identity a secret as his classmates prepare for the Battle of the Classes. But the other students are taking notice, and something seems off about his classmate Nitta.

More adventures await the overweight villain as he teams up with his beautiful classmates, fights crooked proctors, and impresses sexy ninjas!

Literary nothing happens in this book. Everyone is just talking about the same things over and over again: "I am so sad :'( But I have to try harder for my dreams!!".

In addition, one of the characters is always giggling which is really distracting. She doesn't talk normally, just giggles all the time. MC also makes creepy comments about teenage girls. He is always "oh I am able to spend time with cute girls!" or "omg they are talking to me they are so cute omgomg im gonna cry". Is he supposed to be adult or not? I don't get it. Thank god he does not comment his sister's looks in the same manner. Actually, the main reason I enjoyed the series previous was because of his interactions with his sister. Unfortunately, sister is not the main focus in this book.

I did not hate this book but it was really bland. Based on the reviews of the next book in the series, I am most likely not going to read any further.

Volume 2 of the series raises some interesting questions on what is going on even if the MC himself does not dig too deep into it. His interactions with those around him and the world are intriguing enough. It is just that when it comes to MCs, I prefer ones that take a more proactive attitude towards the world beyond getting stronger (and getting his family stronger). The addition of other players certainly help in this regard, although I really wonder whether any gamer in RL would not raise an eyebrow when learning that the two player skills are Gluttony and Lust. Granted, I have no idea how common the knowledge is on the Christian European sins in Japan, but I still would have expected him or the other player speculating that it suggests there are at least 5 more players. Anyway, a decently entertaining read, but for me it felt a bit lacking.

Good plot.

Despite being a theme used in many other works, the author manages to bring a fresh take on this kind of stories. The characters has been introduced and develop at a good pace. The story and plot remain interesting, with many sub plots running in the background. Everything reads well, and at a good pace. A little bit repetitive at some points, but overall, a good book, will be waiting for the next volume.

Great story premise, but.. painful to read

Love the idea, but it's way too difficult to get past how hard the mc makes his own life.
Makes sense to keep information to yourself, but there is no need to make the world think you are a rolling turd. A little backbone even just sometimes, and this becomes 5 star in my eyes. Give it one more book. Before dropping if he remains the worlds greatest loser.

Fun sequel but no climax. Just setup.

Fun sequel but no climax. Just setup. To the point where there’s still tension brewing but there’s no payoff. Too long a wait for the next book.

3.5/5.

More of the same thing, has a lot more POVs so we will get to know what the other NPCs are thinking about the main story and the MC (the fat guy and the game MC too).
