Discover how God’s love can rewrite your story in My Story, Your Glory, a thirty-day devotional that explores how God’s glory redeems every chapter of our lives—inspired by Dove Award-winning worship music artist Matthew West’s song “My Story, Your Glory.”
My Story, Your Glory reveals how God brings hope into all situations in our lives. We all have hurts, mistakes, and losses in our lives that we wish would disappear. God promises that He will work all things together for the good of those who love Him. The God of mercy doesn’t mark up our stories with a red pen; He blots out our sins and then comes alongside us, encouraging us to keep writing. Listeners will learn how to find God’s purpose in their pain and His message in their mistakes.
By sharing his own highs and lows, West relates to listeners and helps them to reflect on the less-than-perfect parts of their lives. Listeners are pointed to examples in Scripture of people not much different from us, and how God, in His glory, redeemed their stories. In every way that we are not enough, our God is. West encourages listeners to give God the glory in both the best days and worst days.

This is a great devotional book to do with yourself, as a couple or in a small group. You should take your time going through each of the 30 days. I did it much faster which means I need to go back and actually reflect on the various questions he poses in each chapter and journal as needed. As he says in the introduction, each day will challenge you to consider a truth of what God is currently doing or has done in your life. By using a personal story or illustration plus Bible verses you are encouraged to turn the focus of your life toward reflecting the glory of God who loves you very much. There is room to reflect after each chapter, a challenge to share your story and great questions on how to apply what you have learned and read. Matthew West is as talented as they come to writing songs but also his heart obviously leans into what God has to say to each one of us and how that is played out in our lives each day.
I sometimes find it hard to follow through with devotionals that encourage participation and not just reading and absorbing, but that was not the case with this book! Great for all ages! My 10-year-old enjoyed the book as much as I did. Matthew has a way with words that transcends his music and comes through with as much clarity and elegance in his book. My Story, Your Glory can help you find inspiration and guidance on your spiritual journey. Through relatable stories and uplifting messages, West encourages readers to embrace their imperfections and trust in God's grace to redeem their story. Whether you're struggling with self-doubt, uncertainty, or you're just feeling "stuck" this devotional offers practical wisdom and encouragement. By exploring the beauty and complexity of your own story, you can transform your life and find purpose in your unique journey.
I loved this study. It has a great balance of stories and Bible verses. It's content rich and thought provoking. We all struggle with many of the areas Matthew covers in this study. A few of my favorites are: Battles, imperfection, hope, identity and courage. But there are so many more. I am so thankful for the Bible stories in the book. Every story he used in this study is relateable to me in different areas of my walk with God. He breaks down each day with 4 amazing sections: Connect (verses from that day), Craft (journal questions), Share (living out that day with others) and Live (Practical ways for you to live out that days teaching)
I enjoyed the author’s devotionals and the questions connecting my life to scripture passages. I picked this book up not realizing it was a “working” devotional and was kinda nonplussed when I started it. However, by the end of the 30 days I was definitely writing more down and enjoying the work. [I didn’t do the community or outreach to other people aspects as I often do my devotionals at night and it didn’t always jive well for that].
If you have a neurospicy brain, this devotional is for you! The layout is completely user-friendly. Matthew is such a gifted storyteller whose tales are real, relevant, and relatable on many levels. It is scripturally sound and a joy to read. It made me feel more connected to God. To want to live a better story for his glory.
This is one of my new favorite devotionals. It is an easy to read format. The Bible verses included are often heard verses, but Matthew West has shown them in a new light. He has given hard seasons of life a new light, as well. What a joy to read and be reminded that God is at work in our story for God’s glory.
