Divine nescience of future contingencies a necessity. This book, "Divine nescience of future contingencies a necessity," by Lorenzo Dow McCabe, is a replication of a book originally published before 1882. It has been restored by human beings, page by page, so that you may enjoy it in a form as close to the original as possible.
Truly amazing that McCabe published this in 1882. The comprehensive nature of his treatment of foreknowledge surprised me over and over. As I reflect on the many books and articles written on open theism, how shocking it is that one man birthed most of the fundamental arguments 140 years ago and unleashed his his genius creation to a mostly uninterested world. The words of Ecclesiastes kept ringing in my head: "there remains nothing new under the sun."
Also, the writing is just so good. When did we lose the virtue of getting right to the point? I appreciated McCabe's ability to launch each chapter with his main thesis.
As an Open Theist, I only learned a few extra things from this book. I believe the author often writes in a tedious way. Hearing others talk about it, I expected more of it. But this book is the introduction to 'The Foreknowledge of God', which I haven't read yet. That book might surpass this one.
