Great read that can serve essentially as an intro to sport finance textbook. Parts 1 and 4 contain great anecdotes about the sport & media industries. The author has unique experience advising groups looking to but sporting entities and does a good job detailing the intricacies of leagues and governance structures. Parts 2 and 3 are like an undergraduate introduction to finance course. If well-versed in finance, there is some redundant material although it is still a good refresher of critical concepts. If not well-versed, it’s an excellent entry-point to the world of finance that explains very clearly key themes in layman terms.
