I love a good forced proximity read lol and the fact that it’s a snowed in one makes it better. This one was sweeter and spicier than the prequel. Loved it. Never a miss with lilah

This was short but sweet, the story of them being locked in while there is a storm never gets old and is one of my favorite short stories, despite that I liked the story told here and how the author played with it, fast but everything flows.

Well written short story which is a great page turner, a perfect steamy romance with a happy ending. The short story also has amazing characters as well as it’s easy to read.
A short story about a college student who goes back to her hometown for her brother’s wedding and finds the man who will become her husband.
The college student makes her way in the snow to the family’s bar and grill. While making her way there a truck follows her closely and even pulls into the parking lot right after her. The college student was to meet her brother there but after going to the door her brother wasn’t there to meet her. A friend of her brother’s was in the truck, he checked the door to the bar but after the college student texted her brother they found out that he’s not there so they took her vehicle to her brother’s home.
After they get to the brother’s home they find out that he’s not there either but after texting with him they go inside the home. Soon they find out that the electricity is off. The friend is hungry but the college student tells him not to open the refrigerator so he gets some non-perishable items together to eat while the college student texts with her brother.
A while later the electricity comes back on so they cook together. Afterwards the college student goes to change into her night clothes and he gets a fire going in the fireplace. The two sit on a loveseat and have a blanket over them. Before too long they are kissing and soon they are making out. The college student suggests that they take their clothes off which they do. Soon he picks her up and takes her to the guest room where they make love.
Both of them have deep feelings for one another but they are too scared to tell each other their feelings. He wants to keep her safe and she knows that she will have to go back to school as well as he will have to go back to his work.
They get woken up by a knock on the door. He puts on his jeans and lets her get dressed, closing the door behind him. The brother is at the door. The brother figures out what happened and tells his friend to leave. The college student and her brother have a discussion about the way he and their dad treats her. The student and the friend wind up saying how they feel about each other and decide on a plan to see each other while she’s at school and he’s working. They get things together so they can go up the mountain to where the wedding will be taking place. The brother is planning on helping get everyone up the mountain to the wedding place.
The college student and the friend are married and they have two daughters. It's Christmas time and the daughters are getting her up because there’s a surprise, they get their coats on but she’s wondering where her husband is. Her husband meets them at the door and once outside she finds an SUV. She does bookkeeping and accounting for the bar as well as other businesses in town. The husband traded off her vehicle to get the SUV. They start to go inside to open up presents. Walking to the door the couple walk side by side.
She can’t believe that she lives in her hometown with her husband and their kids. She can’t imagine any other place she would want to be.

Stretches the Imagination . . .
Abbie Phillips was headed to her hometown in Blackbear Bluff as the snow fell harder and harder. She was close to her exit, but the snow was blinding and she almost missed it. She drove slowly in case there was ice underneath. Then a pickup truck raced down the exit right up to her bumper and didn’t try to slow down. There was now space to get past her, but the driver didn’t try. She drove to the Scoreboard Bar and Grill parking lot where her brother was waiting inside, but the other driver followed her. She hurried out of her car, trying not to fall as she headed for the door, only to find that it was locked!
The man followed her and asked if the parked truck was Bo’s… so he knew her brother. Bo had just texted her that he was stuck at his house halfway up the mountain. His fiancée had driven them there which is why he left his truck. Since the man’s pickup wouldn’t hold them all, they took Abbie’s SUV. Maverick introduced himself to her finally. But when they reached the cabin, Abbie noticed that Emerald’s car was not there as it should have been if she and Bo rode up together. And while Abbie was ready to call her brother on the phone, Maverick was imagining seducing her, especially if the cabin was empty. Reaching to knock on the cabin door got his blood pumping when his arm touched hers. (This guy needs a COLD shower… and fast. Geesh! Does he expect her brother to give them a room together?) A phonecall clarified things since Bo was now at his fiancee’s place. And Bo texted them to make themselves at home in his empty cabin -- which currently had no electricity! The heat was also not working. So Maverick’s mind immediately contemplated cuddling up with her for warmth (yeah, I’ll bet). And apparently Maverick had not brought his clothing from his truck when they drove up here.
With everyone stranded where they are during this bad snowstorm, can Maverick and Abbie resist each other? Will Bo be angry if his friend takes advantage of his little sister? Is it too soon for Maverick to fall in love with her? (Not very likely in my opinion.)

Abbie and Maverick's story.
Abbie is headed home to Blackbear Bluff for her brother Bo's wedding. It was snowing, but the roads weren't bad until she neared home. It didn't help to have some jerk suddenly come up behind her and tailgate her into the parking lot of her family's bar and grill.
Maverick is a friend of Bo's and is a military recruiter. He was also the jerk tailgating her. When they got into town, they found that Bo was snowed in at his fiancée's place. He told them to hunker down in his cabin.
Abbie has led a very sheltered life. She's been sent to a private Christian all-girls college. The car ride to Bo's was the first time she'd ever been alone in a car with a man not related to her. And she's twenty-four! Her father has even crossed the line in his efforts to keep her chaste.
There's a mutual attraction between Abbie and Maverick. Bo immediately notices it. He's also not too happy about it, but he must agree that the same thing happened with him and his fiancée, Emerald. He can't even complain about the age difference since both couples are appropriately the same age.
Even if they would marry, she wants to stay in Blackbear Bluff but he'd still have to be gone a lot of the time for recruiting. Is their love true and lasting, or just a passing fancy?

Abbie is headed home for her brother’s wedding. There’s a snow storm coming in stronger then expected and she’s being followed closely by a big truck. She gets to her brothers bar only to find he’s not there. And the truck driver is a friend of her brother’s, Maverick. Maverick says he’ll drive them up the mountain to her brothers. But once there the electricity is out and no brother. Maverick has ideas how to keep them warm. But Abbie stops him mid thought telling him that’s not happening. We all know it’ll change. But first we get to see them hang out and talk first. Maverick has always been non interested in serious relationships. But he’s falling for Abbie in a forever kind of way. She’s already fallen for him. Best part is they don’t hide it from her brother. And Abbie calls her brother out on his hypocrisy in thinking it’s ok to be marrying a woman younger than she is. But she’s not allowed to fall in love with his buddy?! Loved that. Nice strong female character. Enjoyable story.

Teasing the Mountain Man is the first book in the Bachelorettes of Blackbear Bluff Series by Lilah Hart.
Abby and Maverick are both attending her brother's wedding. They barely make it to his cabin due to a snowstorm and find that they are there alone. Abby, after a lifetime of being sheltered by her father and brother, quickly decides she wants Maverick. Maverick thinks Abby is beautiful and is attracted to her as well. They both decide they want more than just their one night together.
This isn't so much a mountain man romance, IMO. It is about a brother's best friend, age gap, stranded together in a snowstorm romance. It is super short and can be read in about an hour. Although I have read and enjoyed most of the books in the previous series, this one felt a bit rushed. More opportunity than chemistry. The story was good nonetheless, and I did like both characters.

Abbie is trying to get to her Brother Bo's wedding but ends up meeting Maverick and because of a snow storm, and power outages all around, they have to stay in her brother's cabin together. Of course things start to heat up inside, and they have an amazing night together. The next day Bo comes around and Abbie and Maverick are forced to confront their feelings, in front of him.
I liked both characters from the get go. I liked how independent Abbie was, and that even though she was attracted to Maverick from the beginning, she was still weary of him because he's a stranger. They had such good chemistry and banter. It was an easy story to read and a perfect for a short break in the day to escape into a hot fantasy.
I can't wait to read the next books!.

Abbie is traveling to her brothers bar for his wedding. She notices a truck very close to her car. Stopping at the bar the truck should go around but he follows her into the lot. Going up to the door she sees its locked and turns to the guy and explains its locked.
Mavrick asks what they should do. Abbie suggests they should drive up to her brother Bo's cabin. After introduces they do just that. Once at the cabin they notice the electric is out.
They make due and end up talking and Abbie lets him know a secret and Maverick wants nothing more to help her with the secret. A really good instant love story
Enjoyed reading Abby and Maverick's love story. To stick up for Abby, every one who lives in snow country just knows they can make it to their destination but they also know due to snow blindness and fatigue you have to stop (been there done that). She was driving from college home for her brother's wedding. Met Maverick on the drive because he was driving her nuts by following her, not knowing he was her brother's best friend. He was following her to her brother's bar to meet up, but that didn't happen. Everything was closed because of the storm. They ended up making it to her brother's cabin but no one was home. No place else to go, they stayed there. This is where everything gets interesting. You'll have to read it to find out what goes on. It's a good book. Written by Cindy :)

This one is definitely fast and dirty.
I got this from one of those stuff your kindle lists. I understand why it might be on there, it was only about 40 pages. I know most books on these lists are book 1 to series like this one, but I'd consider this more a prequil or a novella.
This is what was listed next to the book, and what got me to get the book; Mountain Man, Alpha Male, Age Gap, Best Friend's Sister, Brother's Best Friend, V-Card Heroine, BBW Romance.
I like age gap, brothers best friend, and was looking forward to a BBW. There was no mention that the fmc was a curvy girl.
Overall the writing was ok, just wish there was more to it.
More of her books are on KU so I will check them out, but I looked her up and she published 15 books in 2023 and looks like there are 26 for 2024, so they are all probably this short.

Teasing the Mountain Man is a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, curvy virgin gets her brother's best friend romance. Abbie is a curvy girl headed home from college in a snowstorm for her older brother's wedding. Maverick is a hunky military recruiter and his best friend. He and Abbie meet at Bo's bar only to find it closed due to snow. They head to Bo's cabin only to find it empty with no power. The two are insanely attracted to one another and have no problem keeping each other warm. Will Bo be ok with their relationship? The chemistry was hot, the drama low and the ending happy. This was a great start to the new series.

Well this is just about every trope I hate crammed into 39 pages.

The FMC and MMC meet because he tailgates her in a snowstorm and they both stop at a bar but it's closed because there's no power and so he gets in her car and she drives them to her brothers house- but her brother isn't there so they decide to spend the night. Oh and she's a virgin. Spoiler alert - they bang and by page 19 they are both in love with each other. And then the power comes back on and her brother shows up and yells at his friend for taking his very adult sisters virginity.
Then there's an epilogue with a baby.
I had high hopes. Alas - it was brief porn with not many likeable tropes for me.

Abbie arrives in her hometown to see her brother get married, but there is a snowstorm. Maverick is a good friend of her brother and he also stops in town, meeting Abbie. Deciding to head to Bo's cabin up the mountain, they find the power out and the snowstorm getting stronger. What can they do to pass the time? Do they share the same feelings? What will her brother say when he gets to them? Loved the characters, their personalities, entertaining situations and chemistry. They instantly heat up the cabin and fun times follow. Totally enjoyed the story and can not wait to read more of this group.

This is going to be an amazing series if the rest are anything like Maverick & Abbie's story. We get a nice introduction to the basic haunt of the town (the bar run by Bo). These two have Bo in common as Abbie is his sister and Meverick is a long time friend (and a military recruiter). There is an immediate chemistry between them, and when they get isolated without electricity for the night...well there's only so many ways to generate heat! 😉😉

I liked the story 'Teasing the Mountain Man' by Lilah Hart. It was a short story about an over-protected twenty-four-year-old woman traveling from her women's college into her snowy town to attend her brother's wedding only to be snowed in with her brother's friend that is coming into town for the same wedding. They are both fiercely attracted to each other and are soon acting out on those feelings. They realize they are courting trouble with the woman's over-protected family, but they are willing to chance it.

Lilah is just amazing at the whole short story thing, you never feel like your missing anything. I have enjoyed many if her previous ones, and I am so please she has continued with blackbear bluff, this time with the ladies.
I loved reading Abbie and Mavericks love story. It was so cute to see how protective he was over her from the beginning.

Who said being snowed in without electricity was a bad thing? The couple in this short story would disagree with that. I really liked this story. I love age gap romances and this one was great. I liked the spunky heroine especially when she talks to her brother, and I swooned over the older man who was a military recruiter.

This was a fun age gap romance that brings together Abby and Maverick for her brother Bo's wedding. These two are stranded together in Bo's cabin, without power, and their chemistry explodes pretty quickly ;P I really like how well they connected, and their support of each other's future. Bo, of course, tried to go OTT big bro on her but when faced with their father's shenanigans over her, he quickly caved. He definitely wasn't that kind of brother. Thank goodness ;D
