The final installment of The Last She series finds Ara, Kaden, and Sam reunited . . . only to face their toughest adversary yet: the Creation, a selection of clones who are hell-bent on destroying humankind. It’s up to the three of them to save what’s left of humanity before it’s wiped out . . . again.
In the final installment of H.J. Nelson’s dynamic The Last She series, Ara, Kaden, and Sam risk everything to save what’s left of the world when it’s threatened by the Creation.
Ara and Kaden are above ground. Now that they know the truth, they want nothing more than to move forward. To find their way in this new world, together. They also want to find their way back to Sam, who is both alive and back with the clan. They all want their happy-for-now ending.
The Creation have other plans. They, too, want to exist above ground—but in a world that does not include humans. The battle will happen and only one side can win. Will Ara be the last one standing again, or can she, Kaden, and Sam save what’s left of humanity?

Amazing. I fell in love with the first book in this series and was blessed to have been a beta reader for this amazingly sweet author. It was so cool getting to see how this series grew and changed before my eyes, from the versions I’ve read to their final heartbreakingly hopeful endings. I truly think this book is my favorite of the three. The twists it took from dystopian into light science fiction and the character development is just stunning. This series and author will always be a recommendation from me!
I loved this series, but the last book was a bit of a mess. Got really heavily into religion with lots of biblical references. Phrases were reused over and over again to the point it was annoying to read. I also felt like there were a larger amount of plot holes and jumps in the story in the third book. Since this is a Wattpad book. I am hopeful that if it gets published and sold in stores, an editor will help to work out the kinks in this third installment.
First of all, giant props to the author and publisher for including a recap at the start of this book! All series should do this honestly, it is so helpful, because I can barely remember what I ate for lunch, let alone the details of a book I read at least a year ago. So thanks! This was a satisfying, if not epic finale. The loose ends were tied up, and the characters' stories were all told. It was not overly unrealistic, which is nice, but nor did it make me frustrated. I am not trying to spoil anything, but I think it is safe to say that if you liked the series, you will like this final installment. It wasn't the sort of story that I cannot stop thinking about, but it was enjoyable and entertaining and the finale wraps things up. Overall, a pretty solid series that I am glad to have read!
Bottom Line:
Good end to an enjoyable series detailing what comes after the end of the world.
I know that post-apocalyptic books can often feel repetitive, but even after reading the first two books in this series, I found this one to still be creative and fun to read. The ending absolutely ruined me—but in the best way possible, I want more. The characters are some of my favorites I’ve ever read about; the family dynamic and the romance left me feeling every emotion imaginable. In this book especially, I felt like I got to know some of my favorite characters better and became more a part of their stories.
Having been invested in this series for over a year, I was so sad when it ended. I’m honestly not sure if there will be a fourth book—I really hope there is, because that ending was not nice (in the best way possible). A lot of times, I feel like book series get progressively worse as they go, but I thought every book in this series was incredible. I loved them all—well, almost equally—but the first one will always be my favorite. 🤍
This author should have wrote the bible instead of this series. Honestly, the first and second book where amazing. I’m a big fan of post apocalyptic books, but I felt deceived by the author trying to push ‘god’ into my believe system. Don’t get me wrong, a mention about god or a character believing in it is very common. But every single character was turned into a Christian by the end of the book. Goodreads should make an extra tag for this book ‘Christian fiction’.
This ruined the whole vibe of the series and I’m sad about that.
I love this series! I can’t believe Ara is pregnant. I also can’t believe they have the power back on! Is kaden actually dead or no? 🥺 there should be another book 🥺

The Last Creation is the 3rd (and presumably final) book in the The Last She series. I really enjoyed the whole series, though I think I liked the first two books a little more than this one. I thought it was interesting to follow the perspectives of 4 different characters (Ara, Kaden, Sam, and Sevyn), and Sevyn gave some interesting insight into the Creation, who are basically the villains of this story. The book starts with many of the characters separated (again) and converging in Boise, though this part took longer than I was expecting. There's definitely an ominous tone to the story with the impending doom of the Creation coming. Many of the characters are faced with very difficult choices to make, and it was interesting to see how these characters have grown and changed over the course of the 3 books. Some parts were downright heartbreaking, while others gave a sense of hope. The book ended with a couple things that felt a bit unresolved, leaving me a bit disappointed, though admittedly it kept me thinking for a while after reading it. If another book eventually comes out for this series, I'll definitely want to read it.
Thank you to Wattpad Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy of The Last Creation! All opinions in my review are completely my own.
I heartily enjoyed both The Last She and The Last City, so as soon as I saw the final book was available to request on NetGalley, I knew I had to request it!
This was a fast paced, dystopian adventure story. There were multiple perspectives this time so it was interesting to get into the heads of a few different characters. The stakes felt very high, especially with the threat of the Creation.
I can’t say too much about the plot because of spoilers, but there were definitely many twists and turns and I really had no idea how everything would be resolved. I would have liked the ending to be a little less open, but I still really enjoyed this book - and the series as a whole.
WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS! What an ending to this trilogy. What a full circle moment with Sam becoming his best himself, Kaden being the softy that he is, Em always finding her way back, and Ara being the foundation for the whole crew. I loved that we were more focused on the other characters and not just Ara this time. I loved the Creations’ perspective and how they played into this entire plot. I really enjoyed this book and I am HEARTBROKEN that it ends here!
I would love a Sam spin-off, to be honest. I need more details about the after!
5/5 stars for family, sacrifice, and love!
**Thank you NetGalley for providing a free review copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily!
This has been a great dystopian series and The Last Creation was the conclusion to Ara, Kaden and Sam's story. Similar to the previous books, the world building and character development were well written. There were so many moments throughout the book where I was at the edge of my seat with all the action. For the final book in the trilogy, it nicely tied up all the loose ends in the plot line from the last book. The ending was a bit emotional and I felt as though it was a little abrupt and left me wondering what happens next instead of feeling like the series is at an end. Overall though, it was a great read and I recommend reading this trilogy.
I absolutely loved the first book in the series. However, I wasn’t as entranced by the last 2 books. Possibly because I read them on wattpad and they needed MUCH more editing. I enjoyed the story and all of the different perspectives. My biggest complaint is the ending, because I feel like it wasn’t enough for me, and there needed to be one or two more chapters. With that said, I would still be really excited to see these books continue to get published in print and made into a tv show or movie.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC of The Last Creation! I'm so grateful to have received an early copy of this book. I’m glad I got to witness Kaden and Ara’s adventure come to an end. Both characters go through significant hardships, but in the end, everything works out despite the challenges they face along the way. I really enjoyed the book; the setting and writing were good. However, the ending left me wanting more—what was that ending? I wish there had been more closure for the characters!
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC for this book, I was late to the party, so I read the others so I could stay on top of it and understand what was going on. I thought it was a fitting conclusion, glad that I was introduced to the series, and still curious where it could have gone from here. You should check it out!
I really loved this series! I enjoyed and looked forward to each book more each time. I loved the full circle moments from the beginning to the end too. Adding perspectives to each book gave me something new, yet intriguing to look forward to as well! That ending though…just had to throw that last bit in…still…LOVED this series and would definitely recommend!
This was a fantastic conclusion to this dystopian sci-fi read! The journey wasn't always easy but it was definitely worth it! It was interesting to see how each character changed and grew throughout the series. It's sad to see this series go but the ending was perfect and I don't feel like I'm missing anything which is great! This was an interesting, entertaining and enjoyable read!
I love The Last She Series, but this book felt rushed, and I wasn't thrilled with the ending. If this truly is the final installment, it should have provided a more definitive conclusion rather than setting up each character for another adventure. It felt like we were denied a proper goodbye to the characters. Without the last few paragraphs, I might have felt more satisfied. 🤷🏽♀️
I really enjoy this dystopian books series. Unique storyline, well written, thoughtful characters, and interesting plot lines.
My ONLY qualm.. why’d they have to bring god into it? Perfectly good books, why ruin them with pro Christianism propaganda? To each their own I suppose, not for me but may be the highlight for another person.
This book is absolutely amazing. When I read the first book, “the last she”, I was absolutely hooked from the first 5 pages in. I’m in love with all three books, with none of them disappointing me. Would re-read this for sure after some time. it has the perfect amount of romance, fantasy, drama and action❤️
Just OK ? Long wait and I felt like the first few chapters was a rehash of the last books because this took so long to come out and the ending did not feel like a conclusion to the series . . . Some interesting concepts and a good YA read -
I loved this book so much! I want another one I feel like there is so much that could still be addressed with another book. Honestly I don’t think I will truly be happy with this series unless there is one more book. 😭😭😭
An action-packed, emotional finale that delivered on everything I wanted. The tension, the twists, and the relationships kept me glued to the pages. H.J. Nelson wrapped up this series in a way that felt satisfying and true to the characters. A must-read for fans of the first two books.
Truely enjoyed this entire series. Unique plots, interesting characters, great ending. Love paranormal romance lately. This was hard to put down, great books!
I can't believe that I have finished the last book in the series the ending was a bit sad i cannot deny that, but overall it had taught me a lot of things , what sacrifice means and how it is important for other people and sometimes it is just a must to save the rest, even though it might means that sadness for other people , also there will always be hope for things to be better , and that we need always to seek the bright side cz nothing is worse than losing the hope of living in the right way and the way we want to so it is better to focus on what makes things better and makes us achieve what we want in this life ,, and for sure don't wait for others cz not every time we will find this person in our live. overall this book was great as always and I will just miss kaden sam ara em and everyone else.
first let's start with the story, when everything has stopped suddenly here we get to see the choice of each of them and how it might affect the aftermath and how they will reunit in a weird and saddest way you can ever think about, this time we dive deep into their mind what their desire and what do they really want and how their choices affects the end of the story , we got to see how the creations are trying to role over the world and kill all the humans , while the others are trying to find a way to live safely and release the humans from the plague with the cure that Ara has , and how sam will try to find a way to find his way back to normal life without really trying to remember everyone who has left him from his brother to everyone else, and how the clan life is now after the leave of Ara and Kaden and how things are harder for everyone around them , the ending who would it be for , the creations or the humans will you have to read to know what really happened , who died who stayed alive and who moved on and who didn't , and what the world seems now after everything is over , would love win over the war that happened or would they lose their loves for ever in this empty world. defiantly the ending of this book got on my emotions so much the last one hundred pages made me cry for sure but happy as well .
well let's move to the characters Sam my fav for this book we got to see the grown up version of him, the one who doesn't need anyone , also the one who loves from his heart, a leader that we didn't expect him to be, will he was really the best touch and everything he has done for the world around while carrying this pain inside his heart of everyone leaving him alone, would he be able to get through it all or would he lose again , will you have to see where did he end up at
Ara the female leader as always the one that carries all the dangerous parts with no worries at all just so she can save everyone that she couldn't save beofre and find kaden the love of her love would she be able to save everyone or would she lose some people down the road , is getting to know someone new will help her with what she had to get through , would she be able to meet her sis again and have the talk that they couldn't have before . where will she end up at , is it a happy ending for her or no , you will have to read it to know, but you should put in mind that she is always the most courageous one you would ever see and she would do everything for others no matter what.
Kaden, the most honest and broken one this book , he had to go through a lot to find ara and his brother while keeping his promise to keep everyone safe around him , will all of his sacrifices go to the right way or would his decision create some misunderstanding and leads to a bigger misery, I really liked how he was in this book , dangerously facing death in the face
Em, what would i say of her she was a star in this book, we got to know who she is for real and how things works for her and the way she thinks, and does love matters to her or would she leave love and decide to go after her people what kind of decision would she make, I love how we got to know her at a deep level and understand her of why she is doing what she is doing , she is the support of sam that no one would deny and everyone would always ask for more of them , the best combination in this book
Talia, can i say she is just a flavor to this book that she made the creations feels what they couldn't feel before but at the same time she had to do what she had to do and face what she had to face , her role was just as important as everyone else and i cannot but feel sad for her and everything that happened , she made me cry sometimes
I guess you need to read it as fast as so you won't miss this roller-coaster of events and emotions
This series was so good, but this book fell short. I think it should’ve been at least 100 pages longer and fleshed out a lot more things. Also the ending fell flat for me.
I think a lot more could’ve been done with the creation.
Ara & Kaden’s story seemed rushed. There weren’t as many moments together as before, so I think that’s what caused the ending to not feel as powerful.
Sam & Emma really carried this book. I fell in love with Sam’s character, he was well done!

This was a good finale to a good series. I liked all three books. I liked all the characters. And I feel there was a whole lot of personal growth by everyone throughout the series. The one thing i am a little confused about is whether or not --SPOILER-- Kaden is dead. Because I thought he was dead. And it was sad and I was upset but I could accept that. His death was meaningful. It had to occur. But then it's insinuated that he might not be dead. So I'm left with this uncertainty of whether or not he's alive. And I don't like that.
This might be strange, but I really liked sevyn and I felt he had some personal growth. At first he was ruthless and not understanding, but then he softened, and he started to question what he had believed for so long. And he gave humanity a chance despite what humanity had done to him and his "kind."
Sam is one of my most favorite characters. I think he has the most personal growth out of everyone. He starts out as this little kid who sees his big brother as a perfect person, but later he realizes that he's not. And he becomes a little bit hateful and harder. Which is necessary in the world he lives in. I loved the romance between Emma and Sam too. I thought they fit well together.
I really liked septimus too. It's a shame he died. He was so childlike its so sad.
I really liked all three of these books in this series. It was action packed and mysterious. I'm sad it's come to an end but the ending was a good one.
