Sasilene is surprised when the same woman who recruited her father seventeen months ago comes to rip her—not her more skilled, more genuine sister—out of her own life as well.
Though all she’s wanted is to know how her father is faring in the Eclipsed palace, being a Lunar guard for the King is less of a life commitment than an early death sentence. In a kingdom where the three races of people have different strengths and faded abilities, Sasilene quickly finds herself imprisoned in a game of life and death with the rival of her kind, forced to balance survival with her desire to avenge her father.

Crumbling Celestial Secrets is a riveting and compelling fantasy novel with masterfully crafted elements of surprises and intricate weaved secrets. This is the first book in the Eclipsed Venn series.
The story navigates the secrets and unforeseen truths laying dorimate until a chain of events sets everything in motion. We follow our protagonist Sasilene who deceitfully finds herself in the center of the sinister game of treachery and peril. Living in a kingdom where special, unique abilities can very well decide the fate, Sasilene must act fast and prompt with caution. A fierce fire of vengeance burns in her heart and she will stop at nothing to do that will ultimately serve the justice.
This book contains a very strategic plot. The chapters are short and crisp while the narration is fast-paced. The author has done a commendable job in assigning the interesting personalities to the characters and it was one of the many strong elements of storyline. A lot of things especially unpredictable twists and turns happen in the story that truly surprised me. The concept of Protector and Brave was immediately intriguing to me and I wish I could say more but that will be a major spoiler.
Readers who love to delve into a unique world building and well developed characters with the distinctive fantasy elements will absolutely love this book. I'd definitely recommend it.
oh my days, that was a ride. I read this book on public transport, while walking back home and on my bed because I simply CANNOT put this down. I'm so keen to check out the author's other works because this book was simply too good. firstly, the characters, the story world, their development was simply so planned and plotted out that I would think an writer with decades of experience will write, and I love how the author also doesn't put some things blatantly but gives you enough hints to know what to expect in a sense, and what was happening, though the plot twists caught me off guard a lot. this book was written in the main character, Sasilene's point of view and I couldn't have imagined it from any of the other characters, in any other way. Coming from someone who pretty much only breathes and consumes a majority of romance, I loved how there was a hint of a romance aspect, though it was quickly died down.
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
I do have some things to say though, but it may have already been addressed in the author's next book in this series, which is published less than a month ago from when this was written, but I'll still give my opinion anyway. none of this is negative don't worry too much LOL, I still really really love the book and would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy and plot twists.
so, without further ado, let's get into the things I really hoped could be better. firstly, the king's name. Oh My Days. Drartith caused me to stop and stare at the word a couple of times trying to figure out how to read it, because I have the habit of reading the book in my mind like is it Drart-ith, Drawr-tith or what... *crying emoji* but yeah I loved all the other names HAHAHA.
and secondly, I do kinda have wished that Danica's character was built up more, like I don't really know much about her other than her getting to go out to buy groceries and her having a special bond with the king because she has to take care of him, and that she has been here longer than the current king, yeah that's pretty much all of it. like I wanna know why she didn't do anything about the king's experiments when she clearly has the power to do so, and how was she recruited to come to the palace? what did she have to give up? I have so many damn questions that weren't answered but maybe the author did that intentionally.
thirdly, I keep trying to imagine what the people outside the palace view the palace as tbh, because from what I know they have a balcony, and they can see the people below but I'm pretty sure it won't be the same way back? is there a fog or something blocking the people from seeing the people in the palace? maybe it's addressed in the book and I glossed over it, and if that's the case I'm sorry. and the ending, honestly, I don't really get it, maybe it'll make sense tomorrow morning, but I don't know if she did return back to the palace for Leo, or did she go to that other kingdom? and what did that message mean? was it from her father or her sister? I'm pretty sure a little will be answered in Prim's second book though, but just from reading this book alone I'm confused....
and omg what actually left me pulling my hair was that plot twist where Leo was the one that killed Sasilene's father, and after that it was just her being a mess and rushing to the market and the king chasing after her, like WHAAAT? are we not gonna give Leo a chance to redeem himself? because to the end of the book I kinda hated the king because of him killing Sasilene's dad but Leo was the one to actually do it? I wished that the answer could be in this book rather than the next, if it was addressed there, because you can't just drop a bomb on me man. and I was rooting for her and Leo too so :(((( Leo not making it out of there was already heartbreak for me, and if she went back to the palace why?? and the barrier?? what's with that?
I really hope I get answers in the next book omg, but according to the blurb for the next book my girl Sasilene doesn't have an happy ending...but I'm okay to let the king die but may the rest live please please please *praying hands emoji*
overall this book is really one of the best I've read, Prim's talent is really extraordinary, from a writer to an writer. the fact that she can create universes and not write cliche romances makes me so so proud of her, because I'll dare say she's better than those authors who keep writing those books (coming from someone who exhausted the library's romance section for teens and adults long ago, I've seen my fair share of those writers). pls keep writing Prim, I love ur works too much HEHEHE
