This is a great book. Recommended for all ages. Great pictures and plot based on friendship, truth, sharing, emotion and empathy. This book should be in any classroom and home library. Timeless classic.

This is one of many books my parents bought me. After years I kept thinkig about it. Sadly my parents gave away all my childhood books. In my twenties I asked a question on answers.yahoo.com beacuse I didn't know the title or the author and was given an answer in a matter of minutes. I then bought a used copy on amazon and joyfully re-read it. This is my favourite childhood book!

I'm not exactly sure why I love this book so much. It's very simple about a Lion who keeps trying to prove to his 'friends' in the jungle about the cold stuff. Or maybe because when I was a child it was the only book that I loved to read over and over again in bed. I'm not sure what it is... but I'm glad I found it!

Of all the many books in our house read at bedtime, or whenever, when my sons were younger, this is another "mommy favorite". I highly recommend this to anyone with children.

Lion is hot in the jungle. He decides it must be cooler SOMEWHERE, so off he goes. He goes up into the hills where it is cooler and falls asleep. When he awakes there is white fluffy stuff everywhere! What is this stuff? How can he show it to his friends? Delightful book!

This is the single, most special book I own. My daughter requested this book every night that I read to her. It is just exactly how friendship should be. The best memories of my life.

This was my first time reading this book. I picked this book to read because someone in my class brought it in. I liked flipping through the pages. The illustrations reminded me of painting at my grandparent’s house. This is a good children’s book and gift for the holidays. The book Snow Lion is written by David McPhail and is about a lion that lives in the very hot jungle. He is depressed because it is so hot out. He begins to offend his friends because he is too hot to play, or talk, or run. So finally he decides he has to leave the jungle because it just too hot for lions. He takes a journey and goes to the mountains where he finds snow. He tries to bring the snow back to the jungle, but it melts before he gets there. Then he tries to get his friends to come with him, but they are all still angry with him. Eventually they do go with him, and all the animals play together in the snow.

Got this book as a Christmas present when I was 2 years old. Also was the first book I learned to read on my own. Born in Florida, I was surprised to find out that real snow is more "crunchy" than "fluffy" as the book described. I made it to my mid-twenties thinking that snow felt like cotton or pillows!

The story itself has great lessons on empathy, friendship, and sharing. The illustrations are wonderfully handcrafted and vibrant. Highly recommended to all children!
