The ultimate protect your own, even if it means betraying others.
In this cutthroat world of the Mercy Blades, bloodstains are a badge of honor. Every choice I’ve ever made is steeped in violence. And even though Sofia wants my love, I can’t help but think we’re going to end in disaster.
Sofia is my foundation, but she’s also wildfire, burning the world we once knew and forcing us to reevaluate everything we thought we understood about loyalty and trust.
We all love her–me and the men I’ve come to call my brothers–but I’m not sure if we can trust her. Especially when she’s haunted by one of the most prolific serial killers of all time…who she might have more allegiance to than she does to me.
I find myself battling not just the enemy outside, but the crippling doubts within. We're playing a game where the line between friend and foe is thin. The haunting echoes of the past could destroy everything.
I need her. I need to ensure she's safe. And for that, I would willingly descend into the abyss.
The stakes are high, but as the saying goes, the higher the stakes, the sweeter the victory.
One way or another, she will be ours.
Forever.

This book, unfortunately, was just more of the same surface level story-telling. Book 3 was so short, it could have been combined with this one. No need for 2 separate books, here. At the end of Chapter 22, there were a couple pages that were repeated about 3 times. Did nobody proofread or edit this? Then in Chapter 23, there was another repeated page. This is just bad. I'm taking a star off of my rating for this alone.
The dynamic between Sofia and the guys is just weird to me. I get that she is with Teo, and I have nothing against her being with the other guys, but to treat them as simply entertainment doesn't feel right. It isn't fair to them at all.
So, why did she automatically assume Sam was missing and her dad had him? He literally left because he wanted some space. But she instantly started looking, assuming the worst, prompting them to sneak to the island, etc. The leaps of logic in these books often don't make sense. At least wait a couple weeks before freaking out.
Sofia is just getting dumber as time goes on. She is ready to just jump into a firefight to try and save her brother, not paying attention to logic, common sense, and not following any type of plan. If I were the guys, I would tie her down when planning to go after Sam.
I will go ahead with the last book, but I am not going to hold my breath that it will make all of these worth it. As it is, I would not recommend these books to others. They are just a little to far-fetched for me.
Abyss - Mafia romance - Forced Proximity - Touch her & 💀 - Suspense/Thriller Vibes - Captors to lovers / RH type story - Spice 🌶️ (3/5) 1 group scene
MFC: Sophia MMC: Mateo, Grayson, Victor & Jase
This book is part of a series. It is NOT a standalone and the others MUST be read beforehand. POVs in this story: Sophia, Teo, Grayson, Jace & Victor
This plot starts a few months after book ends. The Viper is still on the loose but Sophia now knows the truth about him. It’s her father. She’s struggling with it especially because she believed her parents to be dead. The gang is recovering from the events at the end of the last book. Especially Victor - he is still recovering from his injuries. Whenever Sam finds out about their dad, he takes off to find him. She finally has slept with all the guys. She hasn’t said ily to anyone other than Teo. It seems like all the guys love her but she may only love Teo and sleeps with the rest of the guys. It should have been discussed among the guys about how the relationship would progress. I’m VERY fond of alpha/OTT/possessive hero’s but Teo takes it WAY TOO FAR without further discussion with the other guys. I wish there were more emotional/romantic feelings discussed between the group but it was definitely lacking in that department. Some of the sentences, phrases/words were very repetitive. This ends on a cliffhanger with Sophia in the clutches of her father (the serial killer, the Viper)
"Anything, or anyone, that tries to hurt you Sofia, will have to go through me first." Can we talk about how perfectly swoonworthy these men are for a minute? 😍
WHY can Sofia never catch a break?! 😭 My girl goes trudging through the jungle, barely comes out of an underground pit of horrors, and gets mixed up with more mafia men just so her brother that she's tried so hard to protect can go MIA?! WHAT?!
There were so many twists and things I didn't see coming that my head was spinning for the last 10 or so chapters. On a positive note for Sof, Victor says some things that will have you blushing and kicking your feet like a giddy school girl one minute then panting heavily the next. 😏
Clarissa continues to drop insane cliffhangers that will have your brain reeling. I need Exiled, like, NOW.
The overall story is excellent, but it needs someone to proofread and edit it before republishing it. There are some sentences that repeat, and it's really annoying
