Published in 1980, this is a mixture of feature writing, articles and Q&A. Perfectly capturing the mood and atmosphere of the era, this follows Blondie as they record “Eat To The Beat” and appear in the now-forgotten movie “Roadie”, giving us an in-depth history to the band and it’s difficulties along the way. With the benefit of hindsight, the book takes on a poignant tone - the band were arguably already past their peak when this was being written and it’s a shame, reading of the hopes and dreams of the key players and knowing they won’t come true (though, of course, most of them would be around for the renaissance at the end of the 90s). Well written, well researched and with a real feel for the band and the genre, this is definitely worth a read. Superb stuff.
