It wasn’t a bad book all things considered. I loved the smut aspect. The plot however, hmmmm not that good. The dialogue was cringe for some parts (to me) and some parts just didn’t make sense to me at all.

No, there is not just spice but it definitely is something to mention.

This book now lets you see how Hugh and Denise start to navigate the daily with this new found experience that they have had together and when she meets his grandmother, there is nothing else left to say, except the truth and he has to determine if his desire to keep her will override the need for her to know the whole truth.

Denise is just fighting the inevitable it feels like. She knows what she sees, what she feels and how she doesn't want to lose the connection she has with Hugh. But if they keep going at this rate, will it fizzle out and burn her while it does or...

A surprise sequel


I was surprised when Addicted popped up as the sequel to Tempted when I finished reading on my tablet. How I missed Book 1 on the cover, I don't know. I thought I was content with the short novella about co-workers/best friends hooking up after a work party. Welp! I was wrong. We get to learn more about Denise and Hugh and see them embark on a real relationship. The best part: we get more spicy scenes in this full-length novel.

Now onward to the third installment.

Back for seconds

Denise and Hugh are at it again. This dynamic duo is full of surprises. Their relationship starts to take a turn. As friends and at work. Denise makes a decision about her actual live in relationship Curtis who she’s been with for 9 years. that sets a bunch of things into motion. The banter the chemistry the sizzle it’s all on point here between Denise and Hugh. Cleo is hilarious and a ride a die every girl needs by their side. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

Not your typical friends to lover story

This book was amazing. This was not your typical friends to lovers story, and I loved everything about it. At first, I wanted more of a Huey back story, but how Ms. Cox incorporated the telling of it (chefs kiss). There is no need for it. He knew what Denise needed and helped her realize it along the way, not in a pushover way. I can't wait for book 3.

I believe this is my series (books in general) by Ayla and I’m already deeply invested. Goodness I was not prepared to fall in love with Hugh, Denise and Cleo. I’m so interested to know what comes out of this with Cleo and Lucian too!

Again, Oh My God! The 2nd book in this series and it did not disappoint, the storyline is very good and it has a great feel, you get engrossed in the characters and plot if you fell in love with the MMC in the first book you will definitely be addicted to him in the second book. Friends to Lovers

I absolutely loved this book. The attention to detail that Hugh had for Denise was unmatched. I loved the characters,especially Cleo. I loved that Denise and Hugh had a relationship first that developed. A cliffhanger noooo!!!! Can’t wait for the next book!
