The crazy auntie and step cousin WTF!? The torture they went through was highly deserved👏🏻👏🏻 although I was gritting my teeth reading it. Not a fan of the eyeballs 🤣🤢
It did seem rushed tbh once they “cleared” the air and made them vanish. I don’t understand why an 18 year old girl who has been locked up for the majority of her life, killed her last remaining family and then SUDDENLY IS NOW A MOTHER THIS EARLY ON!? Literally fell pregnant straight away. The poor girl hasn’t even lived. Now I’m not a fan of the pregnancy trope whatsoever so it kinda killed it for me being honest.
Also - not a fan of the term “daddy” either 🤷🏻♀️out of all the dark romance books I’ve read I’ve come across this once so it caught me by surprise HAHAH - but each to their own. No judgement here😘🫶🏻
I do recommend if you want SPICE🌶️ but the plot kinda gets lost and it feels rushed but overall it’s decent. 3 stars ⭐️

First I want to preface that I don't normally like RH books, but because Eva Marks wrote it I had to read it and all I can say is WOW. It was so dark and twisted and I really loved it!
Briar is the best FMC, she didn't take crap from anyone and she is so strong. I love a strong FMC and Eva Marks nailed that with Briar. She had such a horrible upbringing it's no wonder she had walls up, but of course her godfathers are there for her in every way...they are SO filthy mouthed and brutal and perfect for Briar!
The writing was done so well, Eva knows how to write stories that feel real and dark and divine, and this one was no different! It was full of twists and so much that I never saw coming. Overall another great read from one of my favourite authors!

I kind of enjoyed it even though it's very taboo
This is pretty much, mostly an erotica a very taboo erotica. I love taboo relationships, but this one felt a little like grooming, and it wasn't explicitly explained on the relationship with her growing up.
This smut was amazing.It was very spicy but also uncomfortable. I don't know what to feel but I don't regret reading it.

First DNF in a year….and not for the reasons you think.
(Very mild spoilers because there’s no real plot) A doormat with no backbone, no personality, hobbies, interests, or goals. Who cries on nearly every page. But they were “mean” to her for almost a decade to “toughen her up”. Lol, mission failed. She is also terribly insecure, if any of them so much as frowns in her presence she assumes they hate her and want to end things,
This book makes no sense. So she was locked in a house with 3 men who she
“Hated” who also “hated” her"? But they call her names like “flower” ?..how that work?
Also in what world can 3 non blood related men foster a child from a wealthy and high-profile family and not let her out the house for 8 years and no one comes knocking?? Also how is it possible for someone who has never left the house to be so boring and have absolutely nooooo interests or personality?
Sooo she hated them almost her whole life but gets over it in (literally) 6 minutes the second they touch her hooha?? Huh? There’s so much weird angst from one character in the book towards her (for something she had nothing to do with and he knows it) and yet her being emotionally abused and touch-starved and isolated from the entire world for her formative years isn’t even discussed for a paragraph.
Serious questions, was the author on bath salts? Either make an interesting and angsty erotica, or straight up filth but this nonsense ain’t it.
Don’t even get me started on how big of a deal and how much of the very thin plot of this book is about getting her ownership of her family business, a business she absolutely NEVER cares about lol.
Even the sex scenes were boring with zero passion. I promise, at no point does it seem like they care about satisfying her. Also she must be a unicorn cause she’s already had at least 5 orgasms halfway through the book without so much as a trip downtown from any of the so called me who have been putting it…everywhere.
I would leave 2 stars if at least the grammar was good, but the way the author switches up past and present tense in the same sentence repeatedly,I can’t even give it that. I got exactly halfway through until I couldn’t take her crying THREE TIMES ON ONE PAGE WITH NOTHING HAPPENING.

I love retelling!! And this one has some sleeping beauty 😍. And it's all told from Briar Pov. I also have the triggers below if this isn't a story for you.
Poor baby Briar 😭😭 had her whole world ripped up before her at a young age because of her drug addict parents and the pain they caused!! And to protect her from the vipers, she was taken in by her 3 godfathers now shes living with them. And we fast forward a few years, and she still thinks they blame her for what happens. Now she's turned 18 (nothing happens before that), but Mason Falk Finn don't blame her at all they make sure she understands that now. They still "bully" her in the most delicious way with their dirty mouths, hands, and other parts, heheh
But they have other problems dealing with some relatives who wanna do harm to Briar. And her men make sure nothing happens or takes advantage of her. It does get bloody when some people don't listen. And man... it's bloody.

This would have benefited greatly from multiple POV. Some plot would have helped too. I'm genuinely frustrated I read this.
FMC jumps from one extreme emotion to the next so quickly it's hard to follow and even harder to care. The MMCs aren't any better and are unfortunately only available to us through the lens of FMC who is truly intolerable.

This was just really weird - three guys take on a ten year old kid and raise her. They don’t let her leave the house or go to school. As soon as she turns 18 they turn it into a relationship. They tell her they want her to have their kids. It’s a weird type of sexual abuse/ grooming story with not much plot.

Briar is left in the care of her godfathers at a young age and through the years they’ve shaped her into the strong and intelligent woman she is now. But she’s no longer the little girl she once was and their relationship quickly develops into something else. Because Mason, Falk and Finn always meant to claim her and make her theirs.
This is an erotic age-gap romance with plenty of kink and violence. Reverse harem romance with no MM which I appreciated so the focus was solely on Briar. Parts of this story had some triggers so mind those. Eva has turned into my go to romance writer when I want both a complex plot and enough smut to burn my kindle up.
Mason, Falk and Fin were alpha holes, possessive, obsessive and took without apology. Briar was naive and sweet but not in an annoying way. She really grew into a fierce and a little crazy woman. But they all fit each other perfectly.
Overall, another solid read from Eva!

If you're use to reading quality RH with real plots, storylines and a true love story between multiple partners, this isn't it. My favorite RH author is Ava Ashwood just for comparison. I read a lot of RH and this is the first one that was just ick!
Every chapter is nothing but brutal, rough, punishing s3x witg an 18yr old virgin who loves it. They are never tender and there's also no one on one s3x with each partner in an attempt to endear them and get to know them as anything other than a group. The s3x is always painful & degrading.
The 3 MMC are all brothers who are the MFC's godfathers. They watch out for her from birth since her parents are wealthy drug users and are too wasted to take care of her. At age 7 they become her full time guardians when her father goes to jail and mother takes off. They raise her and home school her and on her 18th Birthday her presents are the 3 of them taking her virginity in every way and every h0le at once. And of course she loved it...yeah right!
She's constantly g@ng b@nged by the brothers, sore, bruised, bleeding and can't get enough. Every chapter is nothing but brutal, rough, punishing s3x witg an 18yr old virgin who loves it. They are never tender and there's also no one on one s3x with each partner in an attempt to endear them and get to know them as anything other than a group. The s3x is always painful & degrading.
The 3 MMC are all brothers who are the MFC's godfathers. They watch out for her from birth since her parents are wealthy drug users and are too wasted to take care of her. At age 7 they become her full time guardians when her father goes to jail and mother takes off. They raise her and home school her and on her 18th Birthday her presents are the 3 of them taking her virginity in every way and every h0le at once. And of course she loved it...yeah right!
She's constantly g@ng b@nged by the brothers, sore, bruised, bleeding and can't get enough. I love it!! This is my first RH read, and it did not disappoint! I love how Blair never backed down. The brothers were all three perfert fits for Blair, especially Falk (he is my favorite). I highly recommend this book to everybody!!

Cuz holy smoke, having 3 overprotective alpha hole guardians is extremely attractive to me, with all of their toxic behaviour and possessiveness.
Eva Marks just knows how to make you lose all your morals, perhaps even your panties to the hotness her books deliver.

I’m the biggest fan of fairytale retellings and this book was her first why choose romance, so I had some really high expectations going into this. As always, Eva completely blew me away! I loved Briar’s character development and how she became so strong by the end. This is probably the worst book I’ve read in a loooong while.
It’s that bad, I genuinely questioned if it was written by AI.
Briar is the worst kind of FMC, completely all over the place and the fact it was all from her completely messed up POV makes it all the worse.
The MMCs could have been amazing but we got nothing from their POV or insight to their inner musings so it was all lost.
Thorn and Mallie are completely unnecessary.
“Think hard, be hard” will forever give me the ick.

4.5 ☆!
Let me first start off by saying I'm not the biggest fan of why choose stories. I have never really been a big fan of characters being shared with others just as my personal preference. I prefer to read stories I know I can relate to so I can relate better to the characters. I have previously read two throuple romances; one being mmf, the other being ffm; this is my first why choose book I've read. But this was a story written by Eva Marks and I was not about to miss out on this book! And I'm glad I didn't!
The way these three overbearing, obsessive, possessive brothers were able to share Briar so completely was simply beautiful! The way each mmc was able to have their own connection with Briar with having their own nickname for her but also letting her have those connections with each of them was so endearing. I didn't feel like I needed to pick a favorite out of the brothers nor did I have a least favorite. Briar, Mason, Falk and Finn were able to form such a bond together that I didn't feel like anything was missing.
I may still shy away from why choose stories just for personal preference but Their Dark Rose helped open my eyes to the possibility of other why choose books in the future! I now understand what a true why choose is supposed to encompass, togetherness.

Just when I think I’ve found my new favorite book, Eva releases the next one!
I love these men. Probably in an unhealthy way, but I don’t care. I love mason and his constant brooding behavior. Falk and his bully behavior. Finn and his love of knives and humor, even when Briar is being serious and asking for a weapon he has to be hilarious (probably my favorite part of the book).
I love the way they all try to distance themselves to protect Briar in the beginning to protect her from her enemies, and from themselves. They became her guardians to save her from her parents, who are just genuinely awful people, and helped raise her. There are other “relatives” that come into the mix and are also genuinely awful people who just want what Briar has.
Nothing is going to come between Briar and her men though. These men will literally unalive anyone that touches her, even if she doesn’t need much help. Just ask Thorn.
I’m not going to spoil this because it’s well worth reading. Please carefully read the trigger warnings before diving in. There’s going to be some stuff that certain people are not going to be ok with. Don’t blame the author for reading something that you didn’t want to.

Their Dark Rose by Eva Marks is a dark reverse harem romance novel. Oh this was a very intense and delightful retelling of Sleeping Beauty. It is told in a very spicy, modern and exciting way that gives new life to an old fairy tale. I thought the world building is very well done as well as the plot and character development. The tale was twisted and forbidden everything a dark romance should be yet it still reminded you of sleeping beauty.
Briar is raised by her three godfathers Finn, Mason and Falk. While she is under 18 she lives a normal sweet childhood loved by them as any child should be. When she turns 18 it’s like a switch turns and everything changes.
Eva Marks really does a fantastic job bringing a tale as old as time to life and breathing fresh and exciting life into it. I can not wait to read more from her!

Who wouldn’t love 3 deliciously dangerous godfathers
This was a good read lots of spice. I liked the somewhat bully element it had in the beginning and how it played on Briars relationship with her godfathers. The nicknames each of the godfathers had for Briar where cute and spicy this read was definitely and more pain and bdsm kink so alway check your triggers. The storyline was good there were a few twist that caught me to make the read more intriguing. My one critique would be I wished Briar got out more I would have liked to see her run the company she inherited. But otherwise good spice read. So check it out!!
