It's been a minute since I've read a Michael Cole production. This book shows how imaginative Mr Cole is. When it comes to Shark stories Michael is the best okay the best since JAWS author, Peter Benchley and Steve Alten who wrote the original MEG book which I own a hardcover copy of. Michael Cole reached forward and the Shark relay stick handed to him. I have truly enjoyed Michael's Shark books. I have even re-read a couple of them.
Still I did not see this one (TITAN) coming. I think this story is an allegory of the Frankenstein premise. Their is a mad (brilliant) scientist who creates something amazing but at the same time horrific. A regular great white can be very destructive in the right circumstances. But giving it intelligence, a fierce vindictive temperament, and body armour is taking things to a whole other level. There was so much deep sea action, suspense, chomping, sneakyness, and yes you do need to suspend belief that this is a real life situation. But that's why I read Creature Feature fiction to escape and scare myself. This is a must for Shark fans!
Rather short but enjoyable story. I am tiring of killer sharks but at least this one was way more bizarre than your normal run of the mill nasty shark. Why did the mercenaries not have better communication equipment? Seemed odd to be stuck in the ocean like they were? Sorry, I should shut up and appreciate the imagination of the author. Reality is not always necessary. I did enjoy reading the book. Loved the demise of the villain. Thanks for the nice afternoon read. I will recommend this book.
The Titan Prototype by Michael Cole is a really fun deep sea thriller. The overall story was interesting as the main cast were stuck out at sea with the mutant shark. The story flowed very well and was always exciting. The cast was great I especially really could relate to the mercenary Weston. The shark was amazing it really reminded me of Cole’s other great shark Scar. All in all this is an amazing deep sea thriller with plenty of twists and turns. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Cole’s other books.
Mad scientist creates a great white shark mutant with enhanced DNA making it a powerful weapon in the hands of his employers. Special forces are sent to capture him, but things go awry when he releases his killing machine. Slow start but quickly picked up pace to become an enjoyable creature thriller.
