They say all is fair in love and war. Is that still true when the opposition is your own flesh and blood? Your little brother, who you’re biologically wired to protect. I love my baby brother, I do, but I also love her. Mira Evans—his childhood best friend.
Growing up, Devin and I were told to share. We shared our toys and our clothes. We even shared a room. But I never thought a day would come that we would fall for the same girl, on the same day, at the same time but we did, and years later, that sweet, beautiful girl inadvertently tore our relationship apart.
I did the right thing. I stepped aside and disregarded my own feelings so he could be with her, but he blew his chances by not making a move.
So, whats a man to do? I wasn’t about to make that same mistake twice. Not when I’ve wanted Mira since I was seventeen. I wanted her, and it turns out she wanted me. So, years later, when fate unexpectedly threw us together, we spent the most incredible two weeks together in Thailand, and I was done for.The passion between us burned hot and fast, and I fell for her quicker than I could catch myself, so much so that it tore me apart to let her go--even more so to later allow her to slip through my fingers and watch her fall in love with my brother.
I should have seen it, but I ignored it because, for me, it was always Mira, and for her, it was always Devin.
And then I met her.
Summer Lovey.
The beautiful, vivacious girl with a smile and soul so bright she lit up the deepest, darkest corners of my heart. When I met Summer, I was broken over Mira and she’s what I needed in that moment to forget. So, when we got drunk on cherry-flavoured gin in her bakery and spent the night together, I didn’t plan on seeing her again.
And I absolutely did not plan on getting her pregnant.
We already met Levi and Mira in 'Cuffed by Love', but it was so nice to see their story from Levi's point of view. However, it made it hard to read the first part of the book because I knew I shouldn't root for the two of them since they weren't going to end up together - they were just a stop in each other's lives. To be honest, I disliked Mira in the end. I know they weren't meant to be together, but my little Levi's heart was broken, just like mine. I also know that her end game was always Devin. Nonetheless, I loved seeing the man Levi became, and his journey and the way he sees life itself are really inspiring. And here comes the FMC - I adore Summer. She's really the perfect match for Levi, and I can easily relate to her. This book gave us closure and a promising beginning. I would call this one an in-between book that ends with a cliffhanger, but it's not as heart-wrenching as we've gotten used to (thank you, Shayla, I couldn't handle that now). This means we're going to get Levi and Summer's book next, which makes me beyond excited.
Note : you should read Cuffed By Love by Shayla 1st , before reading Along Came Summer .
You see a glimpse of Levi and Mira in Cuffed By Love. Which left me wanted to know Levi story .I am so glad that he gets his own book so we can see his side of things and that he will get his happy ever after.
What Levi and Mira had was short lived but still hot. They seemed to click and be good for each other . If I didn’t know the outcome from the Cuffed By Love (book), I would have thought that they would have ended together in the long run.
We start to get a glimpse of Summer , the owner of a bakery , when Mira and Levi are at the bakery. After Levi heart gets broken, he has messy and steamy one night stand with Summer … This book leaves off on a cliffhanger but I so can’t wait to read Summer and Levi story in the next book.
I don’t know how Shayla does it every time , but this book had me laughing, tearing up in a few spots and was hot hell. Another amazing book that is a must read .
You will need to read cuffed by love first. I absolutely love this book. I couldn’t put it down. I love getting Levi’s view from cuffed by love. I cannot wait to see where summer and Levi’s story go. I love the way Shayla writes these characters with so much feeling you get so attached that you are sad when the book ends but joy knowing more is to come. I have been reading Shayla books since I first saw her tiktoks and wattpad books and they never disappoint. If I'm ever in a book slump i read her books and they bring me out of it.
Another amazing read from Shayla We first met levi in cuffed by love and I knew then I needed to read his story Levi has always had a thing for mira and we get to read what happens between them during miras stay in Thailand If you have read cuffed by love then you know how it ends Levi then meets summer I definitely didn’t see there cliffhanger coming and I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops This book is a definite must read I absolutely loved it 🥰
Notes: This is a duet (two book series) and ends on a cliffhanger.
This book is more of a prologue to Levi’s HEA with Summer and is completely necessary so we understand his behaviour and way of thinking when he meets Summer and they have their smexy and schteamy night. Can’t wait to read the rest of their story.
I loved cuffed by loved and was so happy that Levi got his own book! I loved this book but wanted to know more about Summer. I always wondered what happen between Mira and Devin as I always wanted them together and I still want a book 2 of cuffed by love. But this book helped.
Wow 😯 this book was amazing!!! The cliffhanger man. Ugh I want to know what happens next! 😩 As always @official_shaylahart keeps us wanting more. I give this lovely book a 5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Preorder your copy today on Amazon. Comes out tomorrow December 26th.
All about Levi..... trust me, you want to read this.
Fills in the gaps about Levi's story and leaves you wanting more. Can we just talk about how the author has a way with words! Grab this book and then read all of the rest of her books. You won't be dissapointed!
Such a great read from the beginning. It was nice to see the story from Levi’s perspective. I can’t wait for the next book to see how Levi and Summer work it all out.
I realised half way through that this wasn’t the first in the series. I feel I missed a lot of the backstory and struggled to fill in the blanks. I wouldn’t recommend it as a standalone. I plan to go back and read the rest now, and will update once I’ve read the previous book.
What a great read. I really enjoyed the characters of Summer & Levi. It was a quick read and the first by the author. Looking forward to reading more by the author.
