I must say I love the dedication!
This is the first of Brianna’ book I have read and I was pleasantly surprised, Fated for Darkness was a enjoyable read.
If you are into strong FMC and morally grey touch her and ☠️ MMC, with a good plot, action and some spice, this book is worth reading.
I enjoyed the dual POV so you are able to see both Nika and Sila’s side of the story.
Brianna did a fantastic job with the characters.
This book is a great start to the series and I look forward to continuing the journey in the next book.

I absolutely think this book has potential. I didn’t immediately connect with the characters because you ate just thrown into the story. So for readers who enjoy that, this book is for you. After some time I felt like I got to know the characters and found their dynamic interesting.
Spice was good as expected, those two cannot get enough of each other.

Fated for Darkness was my first read by Brianna West and I cannot wait to read more by her hand.
The worldbuilding, the character development, the plot of the story, the sassyness of Nika and the spice 🔥 this book really was a total package! I enjoyed reading this book so much. I loved how savage Nika was, she knew what she wanted and how she wanted it. And Silas 🥵 boy, that fae. I want my own Silas!
The dual POV was a nice extra, reading from both Nika and Silas made it so much better, getting so much more about their backstory and what went on in their minds they both took a little bit of my heart.
With all the plots and twists I can't wait for the second book!

I absolutely adored Fated for Darkness. What a great first book in a new series. Nika is such a great FMC. She is tough, sassy, and kickass. She was perfect from the start. Silas is a fantastic morally gray character. The MMC falling first and hard is one of my favorite troupes in romance books. The tension and banter between Nika and Silas is perfection.
I loved the new world building and how the plot all unfolds. There was the just the right amount of character development and plot and kept me reading way past my bedtime. I now have to anxiously await the next book in the series.

This was a super fun and dark read and I loved it! I am such a sucker for a super strong FMC and the morally grey men who just swoon over them, and Nika and Silas definitely fit the bill. This book was filled with witty banter, action, adventure, magic, trauma, and love with some great spice thrown in. There are side characters who you will love! I can't wait to follow Nika and Silas' story.

My god, this was absolutely amazing!! if you want a story that’s got a strong sassy fmc that doesn’t bow to no man and a morally grey mmc that thinks he doesn’t deserve anything, especially his purple-haired rebel because of his past, then this one is for you. Fated for Darkness has so much banter between Silas and Nika that I ended up laughing so much throughout the book. Silas’s is one silver haired, hörny, arrogant mercenary, but as the story goes on, he works his sexy, arrogant self into your heart when you learn of his past. and I can’t forget with that hot smirk too.🥵😍 This book has dual POV, so you won’t have to wonder what that wanker mercenary is thinking, poor dude’s got a tent in his pants that he cant keep it down😂😂 but this book has some amazing spice in it and I would say it’s a 3.5/5🌶️ in spice level. There is romance in this book but also times where you’ll wanna cry, and smile and laugh like no tomorrow. You need to give this book a read!! 100% recommend!

Holy moly 😍🥵🖤 This book captivated me from the second I started it, and I could not get enough! Silas is just the best ❤️🔥 and I’ve never wanted to be a character so bad until I met Nika 💜 This romantasy stole my heart from page 1, and I’m left wanting more! The plot sucked me in before I even knew it, and when there was spice, it was 🫠🥵 just YES. LOVED this novel from start to finish, and I cannot WAIT for more!!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this and wow what amazing book this has been. I love a strong female character and this book delivered on it. It has great story line and strong characters all around, I can’t wait for next one and see were story takes me. There is great amount of spice but it docent interfere or take over to story line.

I thank Brianna West for constantly growing as an author, and my love for her works continue to grow. I couldn’t pick a favorite between Nika and Silas. Silas will walk that grey line to make sure Nika stays in the light. The banter is amusing because who doesn’t need humor with the Darkness. The plot is Wonderful and will keep you wanting more. I want more of Nika and Silas!!!! “I promise, love. Whatever it takes, I’ll never let you go anywhere I can’t follow. Even if it means killing Death himself, I’ll do it without hesitating for one bloody second.”- Silas

Omg this book had me giggling and smiling from the dedication! First off I will say I love a man who calls his woman “love” 🤤😍 the tension and chemistry between Nika and Silas is absolutely swoon worthy!! And the 🌶️ is 🥵! There was a lil bit of back story and world building in the beginning that played so amazingly perfect into the active story line. The events and plot kept me turning pages!! Can’t not wait to see what comes next!

If you’re looking for a smut fantasy book this is the one! I’m still getting into fantasy books so some of the terms were new to me but I enjoyed the story. Loved the MMC accent or way he talked he had me laughing.

I love a good paranormal romance, especially when the FMC isn’t some damsel but someone who can hold her own. That is exactly what you get in Nika. She knows when to be bold and when to hold her tongue and it was such a great change from some FMCs who tend to “over-do” the snark like they have something to prove. Silas is the yin to her yang and the banter they have only enhances the chemistry! The dual POV of this book was SO refreshing because you actually get the different voices/thoughts associated with the characters. Brianna West does a great job giving each character a personality that can be actually sensed while reading! If you’re even thinking about it, just DO it and pre-order this book. It’s a definite “add to TBR” for 2024!

I enjoy paranormal romance especially with morally grey characters. The author creates a very strong, female lead who even the main male character recognizes in that light. Silas who is a mercenary assassin is somewhat fated to assist Nika (although she does not realize this in the beginning).
Nika also a skilled killer has always had to look out for herself, and is not used to accepting help - especially from a self acclaimed over zealous man like Silas.
However, they find themselves in an adventure together, where they must rely on one another, and have trust within the strength they possess. Along the way Nika realizes her true potential and unlocks a power her parents hid to protect her. Silas drawn to her, refuses to leave, and takes on these challenges, as though it was his own fight.. Throughout the two banter, and lighten the heaviness of the situation.

I love paranormal romance, but I usually prefer a grumpy, in denial MMC. However, there is something to be said for how this author wrote the MMC, where he falls first and is adorably obsessed with his little rebel. The adventure and magic were written very well and kept me captivated. I appreciate how the ending left it open for a sequel but didn't break your heart with a gut wrenching cliff hanger. Overall, I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the sequel to come!

I love a story that has a strong FMC that isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and get in on the action - and boy did Nika do that from the moment she walks on page! She immediately meets her match with Silas and the sparks just keep flying.
Bring on the action, bring on the magic & bring more great side characters and you’ve got yourself a great read here. Full of fun, laughs (thank you Silas), magic, action & adventure with a nice dollop of steam too, this book kept me turning the pages way past my bedtime.
My only real (but small) drawbacks was some repetitiveness in some references such as when Silas or Nika kept referring to each other as ‘the other fae’ (or similar) and sometimes Silas was internally talking about his infatuation with Nika for a bit longer than I enjoyed - but maybe that’s just me as I love to get back to the action!
I must also admit to being slightly disappointed we never met one of the ‘bad guys’ on page. I would have loved to see the action and fall out as it happened! But I’ve learnt that sometimes it’s not all as it appears with authors and their storytelling so I reserve judgment on this one.😉😆
But in saying this, none of this detracted from my enjoyment of the story & I really did enjoy reading about Nika & Silas. The characters were likeable even with grey morals as well as having depth & unique personalities. The side characters were engaging & enhanced the story, helping to give some different perspectives. Nika & Silas’s adventure together & their budding romance was fun, flirty and witty and I am really looking forward to the continuation of their story. ❤️

Silas is a dark fae mercenary, hired to protect Nika from fae assassins determined to take her down. Nika, however, needs little saving and can manage the job perfectly well on her own, thank you. We follow their journey to the truths that dark forces would prefer stay hidden, with twists and turns throughout.
Nika is an absolute bad-ass, she’s sassy and self sufficient. Silas is a cinnamon roll of a man, a formidable fighter and killer who is the sunshine to Nika’s grumpy. Kudos to the author for getting his Britishisms so spot on, it’s rare to see twatwaffle used so well by a non-Brit 😅😂
I prefer not to spoiler reviews so I won’t give away any plot hints, but expect twists, turns, magic, violence and spice. You wont regret picking this one up and it’s a brilliant start to what I know will be a must read series for me.

This is a must read. Do you love a strong witty smart mouth fmc? A morally grey hunk? A best friend who would do anything for the fmc? Then this is the story for you! Nika our FMC is all the above highly trained fae! Silas is the MMC who is the assassin for hire. From the beginning this story is action packed with a tale woven so well that it has to be fated! You will laugh, cry and be excited at the fight scenes. There's truths learned families formed families found. There are twists and turns I never saw coming! The banter of Nika, Silas and Lev is enough to make you want to be part of this loyal group! I can't wait for book 2!

I cannot express with words how much I loved this book! It has everything I want and need in a story. Great characters, awesome banter, suspenseful plot, on point imagery, and 🔥🔥 spice🥵. 12/10 highly recommend. We get to hear two POVs from strong MCs, male and female. The book has adventure, action, suspense, romance, fantasy, spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️, and will leave you wanting more. Not to mention the Britishisms were friggin awesome! Haven’t laughed that hard, while reading, in forever.

This is one of those can’t put it down, so sad when it ends books! There are a few heart wrenching revelations that really helped to enrich the story.
I fell in love with Silas and Nika instantly, their chemistry will have you giggling and fanning yourself with a big cheesy grin on your face all the while! 😂

Brianna West does it again!! Fated for Darkness was such a fantastic read!! Loved the characters the second we meet them. The dynamic between Nika and Silas was just what I wanted in a book!! He falls and falls hard!! This story has is a strong FMC, a delicious masked assassin, and some unexpected side characters that are a great addition. Fated mates, Forced proximity, touch her and die and grumpy vs sunshine are a few troupes in this book. Can’t wait for the next part of the story.

April 1, 2024Loved this 🖤🖤. Dual POV with an incredibly sassy FMC and a horny devilish morally grey MMC both of whom you fall in love with. You wish to be as kick ass as Nika and want Silas by your side. The witty banter from both of them is fun and had me laughing at times.
From the first couple of pages you are gripped, the plot just sucks you in and keeps you turning pages begging for more.
It’s a well balanced fun emotional and spicy read and I can’t wait for more!

Seriously only good things to say about this book! It was face paced, had compelling characters that you can’t help but root for right from the get go andddddd who can’t help but love a hot masked assassin that turns into an oaf, a troll, a cottonhead ninny amongst many other color descriptions of his behavior around the girl he likes (his words not mine 😂)
Silas & Nika’s banter is everything:

“Aye, plan, yes. I should have one of those,” he replied to my never-ending frustration.
“You don’t have a plan?” I asked, close to sending my fist into his stomach. Damn the consequences.
Silas shrugged, lips tilted boyishly. “I’m more of a do-it-as-I-go sort, if I’m honest.”
Just focus on not dying, mercenary. I’d rather not have your death on my conscience.”
“Oh, princess, you do care about me,” Silas cooed, haunting silver eyes never missing one bit of the world around him even as he poked fun. “Now I’m half tempted to let him hurt me a little so a certain stone-faced ice princess tends to my wounds.”
Don’t you fucking say it. She’s anxious. Be a gentleman and comfort her.
“Oh aye, lass. Keep growling at me like that and I’ll be forced to tie you up somewhere and have my wicked way with you. Make that friend of yours wait while I worship that vicious sass and lethal body.”
Or you can be a gormless wanker. Bloody hell, I’m hopeless and going to get my ass handed to me by a killer beauty. And I’ll deserve every bloody second of it.
That being said the softer moments are all the more sweet when they come - can’t help but ship the two of them

Wow, I can't express how amazing and unique these characters are. I could not put this book down after the first few chapters; Silas stole the show and had me wanting to see how his relationship would play out with Nika. This is my first book by Brianna West--I can now say it won't be my last, I look forward to reading more by her and continuing this series. Not only was this series filled with an MMC and FMC that you could appreciate or relate to, but you also had side characters that made the story flow and become a bigger piece that you genuinely wanted to root for.
I adored the different elements that were introduced because it felt different from other fantasies--especially when it was modern and not the same sort of plot you would predict to be associated with that. You have assassins, you have a badass rogue assassin that betrays what he is supposed to be doing because of a secret, and you have this FMC that has no idea what is happening--only that she needs to find her father before the darker magic leader does. A lot going on with the twist that you don't see coming, you get comedy in between so it does not feel so serious all the time. Hard to talk about without giving too much away--I do want to say you are always wondering what will happen next with Silas and Nika because trouble is always on their heels while they are trying to piece events together.
I can't wait to read what happens next with Silas and Nika, the romance was steamy and great. You did not a damsel in distress with a male who was eager to save her. She stood on her own two feet and he was there to support her in any way he could without overshadowing her. They both were equal participants in the events that played out, no one was forced or bullied, it was an equal give and take in the relationship which was great to see. I think what is missing in romances at times and this author got was you can build the connection between two people without it being instant. It was an attraction that was built, and by the end of the book you could tell it became more than that, and it is hinted as to why it was even there to begin with.
Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed! You'll be finishing this book and begging for the second one. Brianna West is going to be a new favorite for those like myself who have never read one of her books before.

It has been a while since I've picked up a fantasy romance, and despite the blurb not giving too much away, I was intrigued about the type of story it was. This is also an author I've not read before so I am not familiar with her writing style.
Right from the start this has been an interesting read. You really get caught up in the writing and I loved the world building. I really liked both characters straight away. Nika was an incredibly strong character who did not need anyone fighting her battles. Silas I don't think expected that and was both intrigued and relieved she could hold her own. He's definitely an interesting character Silas is, and I couldn't help hearing him speak in my head with an accent!
He's definitely a charmer with the ladies, so this makes him curious about her. That and the fact it seemed fate bought them together.
Nika is on alert in the beginning, she trust no one except Lev, which is understandable given what she's been through.
But slowly she comes to trust and fall for Silas. I have to say, Silas has got to be one of my most favourite characters! His one liners and nicknames are hilarious! This had some really great world building and I loved that Nika was bad a$$. The storyline is an interesting one and there are definitely some things that are unresolved. I didn't realise there is going to be a continuation, so hoping thing's get wrapped up in the next one.

This is the first of Brianna's books that I've read, and let me tell you, it certainly won't be the last!
If you love Sassy as heck FMCs and MMCs with spunk, sass and slightly off-kilter moral compasses, then this is the book for you!
I didn't stop laughing for most of this book, or crying, or screaming... It was an emotional rollercoaster, and to coin a phrase from Silas himself, "Call me a masochistic muppet because I didn’t mind it at all."
If you need to test your 'out in public straight face' this is a wonderful book to see just how good you are! I thought I had that down, but I was wrong, the bus I was on may have wondered why I was laughing like a crazy person. I am not sorry!
This book will take you on a journey of magic and discovery, build a world you won't be able to get enough of and leave you teetering on the edge of a tiny cliff that has you hovering in bliss while you count the days until you can get your hands on the next one.
This book has serious touch-her-and-unalive vibes, has positive promotion of the lgbt and trans communities that I am living for, and some serious violence as gratification and foreplay that had me both crying with laughter and cheering the FMC on every step of the way.
With magic, mercenaries, assassins, fae, and shapeshifters, what more could you possibly want?!
