"The Dawn," the gripping continuation to the Invasion Trilogy, immerses readers in a world teetering on the brink of a new era. In the aftermath of a brutal extraterrestrial invasion, humanity clings to survival on Mackinac Island, a last bastion of freedom in a world overwhelmed by alien forces.
James, a hardened veteran, finds solace in the icy solitude of the island, haunted by the memories of war and loss. Alongside his loyal dog, Duke, he navigates a life far removed from the frontlines. Yet, the peace is short-lived. When Rogers and Karina, leaders of the resistance, go missing during a critical mission in enemy territory, James is reluctantly drawn back into the fray.
As the harsh winter binds the island, rumors of an impending alien "exodus" loom – a wave that could extinguish the last flames of human resistance. With the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, James must lead a perilous journey into the heart of darkness, where he will confront not only the alien threat but also the shadows of his past. In "The Dawn," alliances are tested, and secrets are unearthed, revealing the true cost of freedom in a world forever changed. As the final battle lines are drawn, James and his companions must make a stand, for the dawn of a new world is upon them, and its light will either herald their salvation or cast them into eternal shadow.
This latest installment combines relentless action, deep emotional turmoil, and a stark vision of a future where the fight for humanity's soul is as crucial as the battle for its survival. "The Dawn" is not just a story of war; it's a tale of hope, resilience, and the unyielding power of the human spirit.
Not sure of the purpose of this book in the series. I should have known from the other reviews not to read this one, I would recommend stopping with the third book - this adds virtually nothing to the story. And the ending is strange
You will be out of your seat reading this one. Excitement all the way. Unknown threats through the whole book. I can’t really tell you more at this point but if you like drama of an unknown genre read this book. It doesn’t ever disappoint.
I waited a long time book 4. I’m so glad there is the possibility of more books! Thank you W.J Lundy for your service to our country and I look forward to more of the Invasion series.
Interesting story line, another earth vs aliens! But it keeps you from putting it down! I was pleasantly surprised by how well it was written and how much it could be used to predict the future???
