Oops, she did it again.A second kid means expanding our business, so I fly to LA for a few weeks to open a West Coast branch of Suds and Sam. In doing so, I leave my wife, AKA the danger magnet, in charge of our New York office.
You’d think having a mob boss uncle, a police chief father, and a hit-man cat-sitter, my wife could stay out of trouble. But oh no, not my Sam. Ignoring all my objections, she agrees to bodyguard a penniless Ukrainian folksinger.
When the Russians get involved, the CIA wants in. Not to be outdone, Uncle Vinny calls in his goon squad while my father-in-law sends in NYPD’s best.
You don’t need to read the earlier romances in the series to enjoy this one. However, if you’re like most fans, you’ll want to binge read them all.
As always with this couple, expect a whole lot of healthy sex, laughs, and a mystery to keep you up all night.
Amazon Best Seller Stella Marie Alden loves Zumba, yoga, watercolor painting, and all genres of romances.
Her first book, ‘How to Train Your Knight’, won Romance Writers of America coveted Molly and Show me the Sparks Contests, and placed in four others. Truly remarkable, considering she’s only been writing for three years.
Growing up in Vermont, she loved to make up stories. Crayons fought each other over size and placement in their cardboard box and imaginary friends crowded the house. Her brother often complained. “Tell her no one’s here, Mother.".
Her career paths have varied. She’s been a librarian, a classical clarinetist wanna-be, recording studio engineer, broadcast electronics repairman, and now she architects software programs.
She lives in Bergen County, NJ with her life-long hero and their two cats. Her two girls are grown but ever supportive. You go Mom!
I was excited to catch up with my two favorite PI’s. Suds is in LA supervising the renovations for their new office and Sam is up to her usual tricks. Sam took a simple bodyguard gig for a popular singer, Yulia, that turns out to be a heck of a lot more. As always Suds and Sam figure out what is going on and come out on top but not without some mishaps, hijinks, and danger. It was fun to see how Suds and Sam and their kids were. I loved how Steel hit Sam with facts from reviewing their past cases and now Sam is embracing her status as a danger magnet. She now sees it as her mission from God to solve the problems placed in her path. I also greatly enjoyed how Suds dealt with Sister Mary and her issues with Mikey. As always, Stella gave us an action-packed romp with plenty of snark. I loved having some of the people from Patten joining in to resolve the case and getting to catch up with them. I received an advanced copy of this book from the Author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Stella Marie Alden has done it again with the latest Suds and Sam tale, another joyous romp filled with the mayhem and danger only Samantha Russo can embroil herself in. This book is full of the sass and snark you would expect from this series, and, of course, scattered with saucy sex scenes involving the title characters, just the thing to brighten up your January, a great fun read, I can’t wait for the next one. I received this as an ARC
As much as I absolutely love this crazy couple, this particular episode got off to a somewhat sluggish start. I kept thinking it would take off soon…but dang! It just wouldn’t kick over. But since Stella ALWAYS does a truly great job—I knew the ‘good stuff’ would kick in soon! Sure enough…before I knew it, Sam’s crazy family had me cracking up. Between her dad—the Police Chief, her Cousin Vinny—the Mob Boss, and all the rest of those characters…you’ll be rolling on the floor!
Honestly, the storyline was really good—just slow to start; the characters were absolutely a hoot as always (loved the new guy Steel); the plot took you in several different directions…all pretty darn interesting; and the HEA was as steamy as ever! You really need to add this one to your collection—it’s definitely a keeper! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and laughed until I cried in so many places!) ❤️❤️
Exciting, thrilling, magnetic. Oh my! You don't want to miss this one
Suds and Sam: At It Again (Suds and Sam Series Book 14) by Stella Marie Alden is a thrill a minute, exciting mysterious romance read that is so magnetic. Truly, Sam is not the only magnetic force in this book or the series for that matter! Suds may think Sam is a danger magnet, but in truth, he is a magnet all on his own with this characters rough, ready, possessive and protective alpha characteristics. Truly, if the fast-paced action, thrills, danger and mystery doesn't pull you in, the characters absolutely will! Highly entertaining, personable, down-right funny and chemistry galore is served up in very Suds and Sam book and this author continues this very successful blend of all those good things in this book once again. Overall, while there are several books in this series, I don't think reading them in order is imperative. However, it would be great fun binge reading from the start! This author delivered another peek into this beloved couple's lives while also including other characters in her writing worlds, along with a heartwarming and entertaining glimpse of Sud's and Sam's continued HEA. I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Oh my gosh, I love this author so much and the Suds and Sam books are a big part of the reason! These two are so hilarious! I read this book in a few hours, not because it was that short but because I couldn’t put it down. This sucker starts out with a bang and never lets up! Sebastian and Sam are caught up in craziness, as usual, and they bring in all the quirky relatives and friends….what a party! Throw in a rambling kid…Mikey is the bomb…an often naked baby…she’s airing out…and you’ve got quite a story! Oh and you can’t forget the long winded priest and the super scary nun…she’ll never be the same after meeting Suds. Great story, loved catching up with the group and meeting a couple of new and intriguing characters…hope we see more of them. I’m guessing this book could be read as a standalone but why would you do that to yourself? Read every book Ms. Alden has written, you never know when an overlap will happen…you can thank me later!
Ms. Alden’s books are so funny at times. It is nice to read something light that makes me feel better. Suds was in California to open a west coast office and left Sam in charge of the New York office. Sam took on a 20 year old client who sang songs about helping others and had millions of followers. Unfortunately she was rich, but couldn’t get to her money until she turned 21 so her parents were in charge of her money. Being such good parents, they were trying to prove she was crazy so they could take her money. Sam felt sorry for her and took her on as a client and with the understanding the company would be paid when she got her money. There were Russians after Sam and her client, guns going off half the time, and running and hiding. There was some funny times with their son taking like his father in talking people to death. I can understand why Sam hated Suds calling her a danger magnet, but it sure seemed to happen when she was around. I encourage you to read the book.
Only our danger magnet can take a job guarding a necklace being worn by a teenager and end up on the run with her. What should have been a safe and simple job leads to both of their lives being at risk. Since Suds is in California he calls in reinforcements from his old boss and friends until he can get home. When they find out who is after them they call in favors from everyone they know because this will be their hardest case yet and Suds will do anything to protect his family. As always the danger and excitement draws you in but the laugh out loud moments are also there. Mikey has picked up on his dad's bad habit and his teacher is not happy about it. The way Suds dealt with the Sister had me crying with laughter. I voluntarily read an arc copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Once again our Danger Magnet proves that's exactly what she is when she takes on a case that perhaps she should have left alone and Suds is not there to stop her. Another fabulous read in this series - NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!! Lots of fun, the usual family escapades and interferences. Think this just may be the best one yet! Suspense, danger, what is going on??? (all revealed by the end of the book). The usual hot smexy moments that we've come to expect with our intrepid duo. The cavalry come to the rescue with our favourites from previous books and the help of the Brennan brothers too and little Mikey steals the show. I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and I voluntarily leave this honest review.
Are we really that surprised the Danger Magnet, aka Sam, is at it again? Didn’t think so. At least she knows how to keep her hubby, Suds, on his toes. Even with two children, there’s never a dull moment in their lives thanks to Sam. As per usual, this book has laugh out loud banter, steamy moments, action, and suspense. We are introduced to new characters, and get to catch up with old ones. Throw in Mikey who is a rambler just like his father, baby Lucy who needs to “air out,” and a crazy, scary nun amongst other characters and you are in for an amazing fast paced ride. Great storyline and lovable characters. This is a must 1-Click! Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. Even though I received this for free, I have purchased the ebook copy of this book and the previous ones in the series for my Kindle.
Holy Moley! I absolutely love this series! The Suds and Sam adventures continue. In this one, Sam has taken on a case of a Ukrainian singer, Yulia, who is in need of protection. She is in conservator with her parents control. They are trying to keep her under their control and she wants out. While Sam tries to help, all kinds of other issues come up for the danger magnet. Sam’s family is involved and they add to the great humor of these books. This was another great read with non stop action!
I laughed partly through this one lol. Sam is definitely a danger magnet if I ever seen one. But her determination when she sets her mind on something is what I love about her. Much to Suds dismay, Sam takes on a new client, Yulia, issues her client a bodyguard, only to realize it’s way bigger than she expected. From crooked parents to assassins to a new hire in Patten securities, this duo is dare I say, At It Again lol. With the help of Slate, Suds gets a bodyguard on Sam, but it doesn’t work out as planned. When things take a turn for Sam, she has to step in to protect Yulia. When I say it will keep you on your toes, Stella has done it again with Suds and Sam! HEA guaranteed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I Always enjoy Suds and Sam’s predicaments. The Danger Magnet, Sam, is At It Again, but is it really her fault or Devine intervention? Crossover characters from Patten Security and Brennan Brothers. All the Suds and Sam characters/family including Mikey, Uncle Vinny, Frankie the hitman, Sister Scary Mary, NYPD officers, Jason the AI, CIA, Russians and a few new people. Action, adventure, passion, laugh out loud moments, and rambling are just part of the fun in Suds and Sam At It Again. Can’t wait for the next book, maybe Patten(Steel) AND for Lucy to get little older!! Gotta love anything from Stella Marie Alden!!
Sam has been asked by an insurance company to keep an eye on a valuable necklace that Yuria, a young Ukrainian pop star is wearing. It appears she's a drug addict, but that's what her parents want everyone to think. Sam is going to act as her bodyguard, although Suds, who's away on business doesn't agree. Another great, enjoyable adventure about these two mad PI's.
So, this was not my favorite of the series. I found it slow to start. However, Sam's ever entertaining family had me laughing out loud. Suds is out of town so Sam takes what should have been a simple case. But for the danger magnet of course things get out of hand. I did feel the story itself took a bit to get to. Once it got going the story took off. From the nanny crisis, scary nuns and a client who won't stay put, it is a great story.
The danger magnet is at it again. At least Sam is. She doesn’t have to look for danger it finds her. But Suds wouldn’t have it any other way. This couple will keep you entertained through out. You will laugh and cry at these two. But their love is completely off the charts true. Never a dull moment. I definitely would recommend this book and this series to anyone looking for a great read
Wow, it started right with some action. Sam and Seb were hilarious like we know and love them. It was a crazy case but a great one also, they were great, but now with the kids in the mix, hilarious. Can’t wait for the next adventure. All in all another winner.
As with any of Suds and Sam's stories you're always in for laughter, chaos and steamy scenes between this couple. I love each and every book I've read in this series. Sam being the D.M she is tries to protect the innocent while juggling motherhood and a business. Suds is away trying to provide for his family, gets pulled back to the busy city to keep his Mrs out of the loony bin. As always Sam's family play an important role in her life and shape the plot. We all love uncle vinny and how her family treat Suds. Mickey decides to follow in his father's foot steps and sets his parents in the path of sister scary Mary. Great read. Hope there's more to come
I'm part of the ARC group and I have to say this. I'm so impressed with this story. I couldn't put it down. I tried. She just keeps surprising me for the best. I personally hope she writes more about this couple.
Absolutely loved this book. While suds is in LA Sam is danger magnet is at it again when she plays bodyguard. Can he get back to her in time before it's too late? A MUST READ!!
Suds and Sam At It Again by Stella Marie Alden is a spicy hit! While a stand-alone tale, it is best to read the series to get the full flavor of Alden's story. Only then will readers understand the characters: Sister Scary Mary, the family members (the mob uncle, police chief father, hairdresser aunt, the meddling mom, the friendly/not so friendly assassin, the loving cousins), the important contacts (Patten Security), Jason (the AI who’s becoming more human-like), Father O’Connell, and the cats. All make an appearance; all are important to this family of four. Alden gives readers a loving couple trying to run and expand a detective business, a believable, convoluted, and dangerous plot, the Russians, and humor throughout. Samantha, who quite often gets herself in trouble, takes on a case protecting an expensive necklace being worn by Ukraninian Yulia Hrynyszyn. Her singing career raises a lot of money for her people in need. Unknown to Samantha, Yulia’s parents are trying to extend her conservatorship to keep control of Yulia’s money, and so the crazy, sometimes dangerous adventures begin. Alden’s first book of this series is free, and if you are like me, book lovers will not want to miss any of the others. She is one author I discovered by accident, and I will continue reading everything she writes.
Suds and Sam's new story was very exciting. This was a quick, fast paced book that was quite interesting. I liked the modern day events that were a backdrop of the story. It made it more relatable.
I always enjoy Suds and Sam but it was nice getting to meet Yulia and Steel and see the sparks flying there. Of course there were plenty of steam between Suds and Sam too. I also loved all the banter and funny times, which kept the story from getting too heavy.
The story was very intriguing and had me hooked from the beginning. It was a good mix of mystery and suspense. The writing had a nice flow to it which made it easy to be immersed in the story. I loved that we got the whole gang together and got to see so many beloved past characters. Especially Lucky as I'm a little sweet on him. Overall a very enjoyable read!!
3.5 stars I'm trying not to be too hard on this book because admittedly, Suds and Sam aren't my favourite characters of Stella's, and so I know the issues I have are a me thing and not a book thing. I find the books are more character driven rather than plot driven. A lot of people seem to love the cast of wacky side characters (they remind me of the wacky secondary characters in traditional sitcoms) and I know we need the steamy scenes, but I find how they are incorporated into the book drag down the pace of the story.
I always appreciate Stella's creativity in coming up with new predicaments for her characters, and look forward to her next book.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
OMG! This book is soo crazy. Stella jumps right from the gate and it's a mad race on every page. From kids and sleepless nights, to family never leaving you alone, and let's not forget the Russians or the supposed drug addicted singer. When Suds and Sam have time, either in a bathroom or the basement stairs their love never waivers. I honestly would've taken the 2 months in the looney bin as vacation, but obviously Sam has better judgement.
I love all of Suds and Sam's adventures and that characters are tied in from other series. I voluntarily read a copy of this book from the author and could not stop the laughing, cringing, or the exasperating family who are all up in everyone's business. One person found this helpful
I’m so happy Suds and Sam are back! These stories are a hoot and I have loved every one of them! Sam is up to her usual tricks of getting herself in danger and Suds seems powerless to stop her. There is more than meets the eye to this new case of theirs and the journey is quite the adventure. As usual, we get the joy of old friends and crazy family and the rambling of our favorite ex Navy SEAL! I don’t know how she does it, but every book in this series is better than the last and I can’t wait to see what Suds and Sam get into next!
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
It is like Christmas morning every time one of these books is released. Each one is a perfect gift, that contains everything you want, tied up with big red bow. With each book in the series, different characters come to light, at this point, you have a good visual on the whole neighborhood. It is amazing as they all pop in with this book, even a few from other series. To say I loved it, is an understatement. This book, this series will literally melt your stress, refocus you and leave you in a fit of giggles and fanning your warm face with steaminess. A fantastic ride that needs to be hasd by all, enjoy!
Another fun-filled adventure for our favourite characters! As with the previous Suds & Sam books that I have read, this one is filled with laugh out loud dialogue, dangerous situations, suspense, and romance. I loved the scenes with Mikey and Lucy. Sam’s crazy family comes into play again, and Suds’ mates from Patton Security turn up as well. These stories just get better and better, I couldn’t put this one down. I highly recommend this read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Suds and Sam are DEFINITELY at it again! After having expanded both their family and their business, Sam gets into some hijinks, but with the best of intentions! Suds is across the country and unable to help, but fortunately we hear from our friends Sky and Jason, who help out! I can't leave out what might be the cutest, funniest part of the entire book- Mikey and his rambling! There is so much to love in this installment of the S&S Series, you won't want to miss it!
