story overall keeps it entertaining, however the typos and the names getting mixed up is really annoying. the anger in everyone's perspectives is getting to be a bit much...like why? some of the situations that happen don't add anything through overall story. I'm still thinking this author uses all ghost writers.
Just didn’t enjoy this one - made me wonder if Blake Pierce, who usually writes brilliant mystery and suspense stories, truly wrote this one? 🤔 it didn’t help that the narrator was so monotone and lacked enthusiasm. Sigh 😮💨
Jessie has to face her demons and she is feeling violence building up inside her (as it also happens with her sister Hannah). She is having difficulty to accept Ryan's beligerant behavior towards their superior and it does not help in finding leads and following them in this case where people are being killed with apparently not much to link them. I wish the story had less (or shorter) explanations about the characters and their past as they took too many pages. Hannah is blooming as a good investigator and Ash Pierce still has many secrets to keep. I thank the author for this ARC.

OMG!!! I am beginning to think that Blake Pierce and Brandon Sanderson are good friends because they BOTH love to mess with us!
And by that, I mean answer and solve a couple of questions while opening up a whole new big can of questions and problems that weren't there before!!!
WTH!
And tge WORST PART!!!
Having to WAIT for the NEXT BOOK!!!
UGH. All Y'all KNOW I don't have time for being patient! 😂
This was SO GOOD!!! It was so good to be reunited with Jessie and Ryan. I am "impatiently awaiting" the next book, Blake. I KNOW it'll be just as amazing!
I had high hopes for this book. As soon as I heard that the first person to get killed was a man, I figured it was going to be totally different. That this wasn’t going to be about rich people and rich women getting killed or punished for something they had done. I was wrong.
I always try to figure out how the title of a book connects with the plot. Took me a long time to figure out this one, and wow. Disturbing. Now that I’ve read 35 of the books, if I were Jesse Hunt living in that city, I think I would move away. That many crimes in that many days all the time would make me crazy. I know this is just fiction, but in some ways it must be believable and this is all just bizarre.
I would’ve loved to know more what happens with Hannah and the person she was helping to find. I don’t wanna give anything away. Also, Kat is clearly going off the deep end. That’s a little scary to me, but now that we know more of the truth about her attack her and what is going on medically, I’m not surprised.
This story was puzzling in the beginning and then it got really seriously mysterious. The story has so many twists, turns and what that's not it. I don't mind erotic stories so I guess the belt thing kind of threw me. But as we finally got a hold of some serious people who could have caused all these murders by asphyxiation I was fascinated at the point where I knew these crimes were committed by a women but when they brought both the women and her husband in to be interrogated I was torn whether it was the husband and his wife doing this but I quickly said no, it was someone else. I always love their stories because we have to do some thinking to try to decide if we know who did it. Love Jessie Hunt and her husband Ryan. We have a couple of more plots going on. We have Ash Pierce, who could be a problem, with her being in the same facility as Haddonfield. Hannah is coming of age as a good investigator, she could probably take over Kat's detective agency one day. Kat is trouble brewing. We are on to the next book.

Very short - maybe that's good because I'm getting tired of Jesse and her exploits they seem all most the same just different names and settings and always someone lurking in the background trying to kill her and those she loves.
This series gets better and better with each novel. Jessie, Ryan, Hannah, and Kat, as the books are so intriguing. They solve things so well, despite the threats on their lives and all the drama. You will like this one!
