Overall, this was a fun read. Perfect for a contemporary romance. Right away you could feel the angst between the main characters and there was no shortage of steamy scenes. It’s the second in a series so a lot of the backstory was already established in the first book. However, the author did a great job getting the essential points across. I did have a little trouble remembering which sister was which in the beginning because their names were similar and they appeared together a lot. There wasn’t a lot of depth in the characters, but that’s not a surprise given it is a romance novel. Lots of fun moments throughout the story and I can’t wait to see how the series concludes.

Another amazing addition to this series!! I absolutely loved watching Patrick grow and heal in this book! I absolutely wanted to jump in the pages to speak my mind to Hugh and several other moments that I don’t want to give away! This is such a great story of love and family and trials and growth! I am so sad the next book isn’t available to read yet because I ABSOLUTELY need it after that CLIFF!!! Definitely a great read! And more like 4.5 stars but I can’t do that on here!!

River is an excellent addition to The Irish Wolves series. Fun, contemporary romance with betrayal, suspense, found family and second chance romance. Personally, I felt like this book was even better than book 1.

The story follows River, the middle Byrne sister, and her relationship with Patrick, the youngest O'Faolain brother. The two have been best friends since their siblings relationship developed in book 1 but both are fighting against the attraction to each other. Patrick is a notorious playboy, and known for his inability to form a serious relationship. A betrayal sends River running, guarded by her ever vigilant sisters and best friend. The mysterious stalker/psycho from book 1 is still wrecking havoc for both families and security increases cause both families to be more or less trapped. Gentle forced proximity vibes.

The storyline was again, beautiful and pacing was steady with a pick up towards the end. The author's ability to include historical information, architectural nods and artistic descriptions is fabulous. I feel the spice was more pronounced in this book with an increase in frequency and descriptions. I loved it! I absolutely adore the sisters+Jo's relationship with each other, their unwavering loyalty to each other. I also love Nan, the Byrne's grandmother. She cracks me up! This book had much more humor and quick witty one liners that had me laughing out loud. Example "He who must not be named - Spoiler, River wasn't talking about Lord Voldemort."

I felt the author did show more realistic flaws in the sisters in this book, even if unintentionally. Given their age and how emotionally mature the sisters seem with their interactions and communications with each other, they are HORRIBLE with direct communication with their men. In both books, the sister's reaction to the first drama with their love interest was to runaway and hide with their family, totally cutting out the male and refusing any communication. As much as I love how they support each other, I hope we see more maturity out of Rowan in her book.

The suspense subplot really kicked up a level in this book. I enjoy the sporadic chapters with his insight. It helps break up the romance and keeps the story moving forward. I feel like we will see epic events in book 3 given the massive cliffhanger we are left with in this one.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to get my hands on book 3 to see how the youngest Byrne sister fairs in her love story.

Let me start by saying that romance novels are not my favorite genre. But, every once in awhile, I like to read something I know will be quick and not have a ton of depth to it. This to me was basically a soap opera with a bunch of rich main characters. The three sisters that the series is about - Raven, River and Rowan - appear to just go through life with no worries. The story centers around the three sisters and the kind of strange romance with two brothers and their Dad. If you are looking for just a romance novel to just read as a quick summer read, it's fine. I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Will He Take a Chance on Love?

Patrick is afraid of love, but afraid or not, he has fallen hard. Will he keep pushing River away, or will he take a chance on love? Soon, a dangerous stalker will create chaos. Will love survive the evil that stalks River, Patrick, and the people they love? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like contemporary romance with a bit of angst and suspense.

This book gave me romance with a side of intrigue. A relationship based on a long-term friendship becomes a bit twisted because of his lack of ability to become serious. A stalker adds an anxious chill to both the characters’ families. The author wove a great plot with a bit of history and visuals of Ireland that I loved.

I think I enjoyed this one even more than the first. River and Patrick and the chemistry between them was so good. There is the perfect dose of angst. You really get to see the characters grow. I can't wait for the final story!.

Family Bonds

This book had a slow start but it eventually drew me in to the point I couldn't put it down. I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway and had never read Anne Gregor before. This won't be the last book of Gregor's I'll read. I can't wait for Rowan's story. I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan and Gregor reminded me of her style. Plus I'm a suckered for hot Irish men.

I have been provided with a review copy of River from the author via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving an impartial review. I just really enjoyed this story and I just didn’t want it to end. I just lost myself in it and I just couldn’t get enough of these interesting characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

Sprawling…

There’s a lot of backstory and characters in this book. I guess a lot of world building and backstory and history lesson was going on. Didn't really feel a connection between River and Patrick. I didn’t really care for Patrick, either. Just my thoughts.

Goodreads win - Thank you!

A good story, with a few interesting twists. However, in my opinion, it did not measure up to the first story in the series. None the less, I'm looking forward to the next book.

This was as good as the 1st book in the series. So glad Pat got his act together and admitted that he truly loved River. Now I can't wait to read Rowan's and her silver fox Hugh story.
