The Alpha's Mates

Rate this book
A rogue Alpha female. Three powerful wolf-shifters. And a desperate quest to save their world.

Reese, a rarity among shifters and a protector of the vulnerable, has always been told she was a freak—an alpha female who would never find a mate. Cast out and hunted by her own pack, she roams Elaria with the band of omegas she freed. In a twist of fate, she encounters three alphas who claim to be her mates. Soren, the stormy leader, Atlas, the calm strategist, and Calder, a hot-headed guardian. Through their hunger-filled gazes, Reese senses an inexplicable pull but is held back by her painful past. Why would the revered Alphas of the strongest pack on Elaria want her? Their claim of being destined mates contradicts everything Reese has ever known. As they prove their respect for her strength and leadership, Reese's long-held beliefs start to crumble. Is it possible that she could belong to the very Alphas she was taught to fear? In the quest to save the Moon Goddess and prevent their kind from vanishing forever, Reese must trust in her shared destiny with Soren, Atlas, and Calder. Can they break through the walls Reese has built around her heart, unlock her full potential, and bring back the shifter goddess? Or will the looming shadows of their enemies extinguish all hope, and possibly their lives?

The Alpha's Mates is a RH Omegaverse shifter fantasy story full of steam and is a suspenseful read full of action, adventure, and sexy times. This book portrays a leading lady who is lost and alone, believing no one will ever want her thanks to her designation. Her men find her and have to convince her that she is, in fact, their fated mate, all while fulfilling their destinies. The leading lady doesn't choose between the three male love interests, she loves them all. The men are happy to share their fated mate, but there is no MM in this book. The book does end on a cliffhanger.

4.75 - 5 Unique Omegaverse Stars!

The Alpha's Mates completely surprised me in the best way! I love Cathleen Cole's military romances so I was super excited to see how Cole would deliver a shifter romance. I was NOT disappointed. Many worlds that are Alpha/Beta/Omega primarily focus on the Alpha/Omega relationship but Cole took this story a different direction and made her FMC an alpha wolf and her mates alphas as well. The FMC's best friend is a Beta and the two of them are protecting an all female pack that are Omegas. Hardened by life, the FMC Reese, trusts basically no one and in her quest to protect those less fierce finds herself face-to-face with a pack that is nothing like she's used to.

The pack leader, Soren, and his bonded pairs, Calder and Atlas, know that Reese is their mate and want nothing more than to show her she will be protected and treasured. As will the rest of the women she's been taking care of. Reese, understandably, is resistant to this at first but these Alpha shifters can be quite persuasive.

"We're going to make you come so many times you're going to wonder if you're feeling pleasure or pain, Mate."

Even though they've found each other, there is MUCH more at play here and if there is to be a future for Reese and her mates and shifters in general, it is up to Reese to the save the day. I won't say much more because I don't want to ruin the story which is both immersive and fresh. You will not be disappointed in the directions this story goes!

One thing I think Cole does SUPER well with her writing is developing a strong female character that knows what she wants, what she believes in and is willing to fight to the death for her morals and beliefs. But when she's with her men her femininity and softness comes out. I seriously love that dynamic. I loved that Reese was dominant outside of the bedroom but submissive in the bedroom with her men. It's just super hot to me. Soren, Calder and Atlas give Reese everything she needs and wants and there's something incredibly sexy about a FMC showing her true nature to only her mates.

"You're mine," I growled at her. "And I'm going to fuck you again as soon as we get home." I rubbed my nose against the side of her face. "You're going to get stuffed full by all your mates. Are you ready for that?"

Reese was a wonderful character that I loved. Soren was the leader, a little grumpy and gruff and all dominance. Calder was the bad boy with a heart of mush and Atlas was the voice of reason with a dirty mouth. All three were well developed characters that made their little group perfect.

I loved this story! It had plenty of steam, no MM so Reese was the center of attention and an incredible story line with plenty of twists and turns. The Alpha's Mates ends on a HFN for Reese and her mates but a cliffhanger for the story itself which I am looking forward to continuing. Super well written story that I couldn't put down!

* trying to keep it vauge and spoiler free *

I don't think I ever read a Shifter book where the FMC was an alpha from the start. I loved it.

There's so many great things about this book. The world building, The lore the magic the awful wolf shifter politics and we can't forget about the men. 3 hunky ones to be exact

So this is a world where everything is pretty much going down hill for shifters. Oir moon goddess doesnt answer , They are slowly fading away. Numbers are decreasing and we don't know why. This causes some really backwards pack mentality, one being female alphas (rare)  are a mistake and should be eliminated.

Unfortunately for us, our FMC is a female Alpha.
I haven't read a why choose wolf shifter book in a hot minute but this was a treat. The side characters are great. I absolutely love the  fmc alpha beta I hope we see more of her and her story.

The MMCs are great And so perfect for the FMC

And when I tell you my heart geeked out. There's a quest. * screams in excitement* and a creepy forest and a battle and we meet a cute little otter.  There is some spice but it's definitely a slow medium boiling pot of water build up but it's good.

I'm really excited to see where this story takes us and I can't wait to read book Two

This was such an amazing story. I’ve only read a few books within the omegaverse and this one definitely became one of my favorites. It took a turn I was definitely not expecting but that just made it better!! Reese, Soren, Calder and Altas have just found each other only to learn that the world they are living in is in danger and it’s up to them to save it. Then you throw in Reese not trusting her mates due to her past and it makes this book so hard to put down!!

Faith, love, sacrifice, and devotion, you get all that in more in The Alpha's Mates. Writing Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen gives readers an omegaverse that focuses more on the plot than anything else and what a plot it is.

Reese is a rare female alpha and she's a badass. I love that she has all the good traits of a male alpha without too many of the negative qualities. Reese is powerful, intelligent, protective, and cunning, a true leader and that was before her mates found her. She does this all with her best friend, Emma by her side, it's a great representation of positive female friendship.

Soren, Atlas, and Calder make the three alpha males of the leading Cadre. Soren is head alpha and with all that responsibility it makes him a little gruff. Atlas is my favorite. He's the complete opposite of how he looks, he's easier to make smile or laugh. Finally, there's Calder who is a prickly crap-stirrer. Not gonna lie, initial introductions could have gone better but they're good guys and they grew on me.

All the good stuff from an omegaverse is present, designations, packs, mate bonds, steamy scenes, and more. The unexpected comes from this book reading more like a fantasy. It's steeped in lore, there are deadly forests, magical creatures, plenty of enemies, and powerful gods. It takes place in a world called Elaria and there's a lot of bad history. The mythology is excellent, the more I learn about the gods the more I want to know. Between them and a prophecy and a quest, consider my interest piqued.

I wondered why the series was named the way it was and by the end boy did I get my answer. Turns out The Alpha's Mates was an Omegaverse Fantasy of epic proportions and it's just the beginning. The ending left us with so many possibilities, I wonder what's gonna happen next.

The Alpha’s Mates – Cathleen Cole

I do love a good reverse harem fated mates story and The Alpha’s Mates did not disappoint. This was a new twist on Alphas and mates. Our FMC Reese is an Alpha on the run with a pack of other females that consists of betas and omegas when they stumble upon another pack. Of course the MMCs are her mates and Alphas too, which is different from the Alpha/omega troupe that is the norm in shifter romance books.

I loved the development of all of the characters in this story. The uniqueness of having a female Alpha was fun and I loved how tough Reese was and when she needed to be she was soft and snuggly with her mates. I loved how the MMCs were accepting of her and made her feel welcome and cherished which hadn’t been the case most of her life.

I also really enjoyed the quest they were on and it wasn’t just your typical run of the mill bad guy vs. good guy story line. While the ending left things open, I am hoping that through the rest of the series these will be wrapped up as we learn the stories of the other members of Reese’s pack.

Wow!
What a difference this storyline was from the previous books I've read by Cathleen and Frank. Well, they didn't disappoint.
I loved the storyline. It went a completely different direction than I expected, but it only added more to the story.
Filled with action and suspense, magic, spice, and all the feels.

Reese was a fantastic FMC. She was brave, strong, and had a big heart, but also a little guarded.
Soren, Atlas, and Caulder, I loved each of them too.
Together, these four went on quite the adventure. So many revelations and twists throughout. The spice between them was so hot! My favorite part was just seeing their relationship grow. I loved that the guys were so understanding and patient with Reese.

I thought it was fantastic!!
I can't wait to read Emma's story.

What’s not to love: PNR, RH, and Cathleen &Frank’s unique ability to spin a story with all the elements of an epic saga. Reese is a strong woman with a destiny to fulfill and she finds 3 equally strong Alphas: Soren, Calder, and Atlas. Together they are formidable, but as mates they’re beyond scorching. She bends only to them in pleasure, but she brings them even more. I loved the connection between them: the emotional impact, the intimacy, and the support that builds their relationship and bond.

This ends on a cliffhanger, but it’s at a good place. I think it’s a saga because there’s so much complexity: their existence is in the balance as they prepare for a war between the gods. There’s tons of action, betrayal, magical beings, and danger which kept the adrenaline pumping. I loved all the characters, the rules, the dialogue, and the sex was phenomenal! This is a great start!

I ate this book up like it was the last slice of cake.

A storyline that will captivate you to the very end. You will be dragged into the book and feel like you're with the characters as they navigate through the task ahead of them. You'll find yourself entranced by a strong fierce female character and the 3 men who want to mate her. Men who will bring out different sides of you. You'll be introduced to this new world the Cathleen and Frank created. Where wolf shifters and goddesses/gods live. You will learn the way of the world and then be left with a cliffhanger. But I promise hanging from the cliff is so worth it.

I'm a huge fan of shifter and why choose romance. I also love this authors MC romance. So I wasn't surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.

What really hooked me was that Reese, our FMC, is an Alpha in her own right. Strong, independent, fierce, protective of her all female pack. Never thinking, or feeling, that she would be worthy of love or of being protected.

Bring on Soren, Atlas and Calder, three steaming hot Alpha shifters who know immediately with their whole hearts, that Reese is their mate. Now they have to convince her!

An intriguing back story involving gods who've forsaken shifters, human/shifter wars and Reese's own traumatic upbringing, really keep you hooked.

enjoyed this one

This is a shifter novel unlike any I have read before. It is very entertaining and exciting. It encompasses an Alpha female with a pack of females and a cadre of three alphas who rule another pack. This has romance, action, fighting, Gods and Goddesses, and a saving the world overriding theme. The h and her three alpha mates get their HFN. No cheating. No romantic cliffhanger but there is an overriding theme of battling an evil goddess to save the shifter species. It was so very intriguing and I adore the all the characters. Highly recommend this one.

Cathleen and Frank didn’t again. I read by very first RH by them, so it’s only fitting that my very first wolf/shifter book is also by them. I could not get enough of Reese, Soren, Atlas, as Calder. I was so hooked it was hard to put this book down! The fight scene had me on the edge of my seat, I think I stopped breathing at one point. The cliffhanger ack! I can’t wait for the next book to be released and read Emma’s story!

I loved this! I'm a big fan of their MC books, and when I saw they had a shifter book I knew I had to read it. Reece is a rare female alpha who was treated as an outcast. After she left her pack, she formed a new one with omegas on the run. Then she finds her 3 fated mates. Mmm. This has everything you love about a shifter romance, plus a lot of really interesting drama with warring gods and goddesses. I would definitely recommend this book and can't wait for the next one to see how Emma fares.

Reese was a strong Alpha and her fated mates were sexy and captivating. A unique take on shifters stories with plenty of action and a great plot. Looking forward to the next book.

I love shifter books and this is no exception. It’s great to see a strong female mc remain so when she meets her mates. I loved the involvement of the gods and goddesses within the shifter world. I enjoyed all three of the mmc but have a soft spot for Calder 🥰.
Want to read more has left me with lots of questions about what happens next 🤣

So this delivers on everything promised!
It’s a different take on omegaverse. It is not the usual light fluff you would expect

Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity
Kick @$$ FMC
Fated Mates
Reverse harem

Minimal spice but there was so much world building and action it wasn’t missed!

Another amazing book by Cathleen & Frank! Don’t sit on this shifter book. You will not be disappointed. I couldn’t put it down. So different from other shifter books but so uniquely written that you will not be disappointed.

You can feel the love pour off the pages. The love Soren, Atlas, & Calder have for their mate Reese. Can’t wait till the next installment comes. Definitely worth it, to find out the Fate & Destiny of Reese & her mates but to also find out what happened to Emma’s future & the future of Elaria.

In The Alpha's Mates, Reese, a rare alpha female, finds herself between destiny and desire when three powerful wolf-shifters, Soren, Atlas, and Calder, claim her as their mate. Cast out by her pack, Reese must learn to trust these alphas while facing a dangerous quest to save their world.

Packed with intense chemistry, fierce alpha energy, and a heroine who's as strong as she is stubborn, this book is a wild ride for shifter romance readers.

Reese is not about to let her past define her. Fierce, sexy, and packed with alpha energy, this book will have you howling for more.

The fantasy world of Elaria is home to our protagonists. I like the idea, but unfortunately the world building had gaps that bothered me.
Open questions for me were, what time are they living? Technology? Settlements of humans, how do they look?
Also I get it's some kind of Omegaverse setting, but the hierarchy was kind of elusive. How is the society of shifters structured, how do the cadres form? Alphas are only males, are there many betas? It seems there are only alphas?
The females seem to be at a disadvantage in the whole design, they can only communicate telepathically when mated and males can without mate?

I liked that Reese was insecure and did not trust the males even though she was attracted and drawn to them by their mate bond. She kept her head straight but not only to be stubborn, she has all the right intentions.
The final battle in their first quest was too early for my liking, the built up to is was good and I really felt their urgency.
After this it was a huge info dump and their travels back home and I feel like this could have been done differently instead of this kind of boring lull on activity after the suspense and excitement of before.

It's been a little while since I've read a shifter book and I really enjoyed this. Reese is a rare female alpha and has been told she was a freak by her pack her whole life. She decides to go off on her own with her friend Emma and they gather other unloved females along the way, forming their own female pack. Little did she know a long their journey she'd run into her mates.
Because of her past it takes her awhile to warm up to them and learn to trust. I really enjoyed the back and forth between them all and the different personalities.
They end up on a quest to save the Moon Goddess and save their kind from vanishing. It's a wild adventure and we get to meet a few of the gods and goddess' along the way.
I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens in preparation for the war to come.

If you enjoy shifter books I highly recommend this one! It pulls you in from the start and you just can't put it down!

OMG this is exactly what Omegaverse should be & more. This is a new genre for these authors & they did a fantastic job. The details for the introduction of Elaria & all the characters is amazing. You feel like you're there with them. Can I go please???? There's gotta be fated mates there for me, right? 🤣 I loved everything about Reese, Soren, Atlas & Calder - the way their personalities were described was great because that played into their inner monologues perfectly. All the magic, adventures, super sexy steamy scenes 🥵 & the sexy villains made this such fun to read. I am so excited for the next story. 😍

I liked this book. How she was so sassy, fierce and independent even when she found her mates. This was a really unique omegaverse where she is alpha from the beginning and leads her own «pack» of omegas from abusive forsed mates. I also liked how Soren, Atlas and Calder stuck by her even in the worst times. The start and end was soo good but I got kind of bored in the middle so I’ll give it 3⭐️.

Good story and writing. Definitely would not say it's an omegaverse as there is no omega in the main Cadre but that is my personal opinion.
