Three delightful stories star the late John Foote's notorious fly-fishing addict George Baldwin Potter, who is unable to believe others are not as interested in dry-fly fishing as he. Includes special introductions to each story, plus a next-generation story by John Foote's son Timothy.
awesome writing. a pure pleasure. I read a wedding gift and fatal gesture in a collection of stories. both were delightful. the protagonist has a Walter mitty-esque quality. the scenarios remind me a bit of Edith Wharton stories.
Classic style writing tends to make this collection of stories seem "dated", but the timeless themes, dry wit and entertaining wordplay make this a must read. The stories are short, draw you in quickly and leave you wanting more.
