I got this book in exchange for an honest review, and while I always wondered why people had to point that out, I finally know now why. It's hard to be honest when you actually don't really want to put people down, especially not when they offer you to read their books.
As it was though I didn't like much about that book. As mentioned in other reviews, the book definitely needed a little more proof-reading. The vocabulary and the tenses were all over the place. It made reading hard, I have to admit. As well, I was missing the flow in this text. It seemed very stiff, which made it less enjoyable than it maybe could have been.
As for the characters... I love bad boys, I totally do, and I adore my fighters, no doubt there, but Nathan did nothing for me whatsoever. He drank too much and almost constantly, was irresponsible in ways that just don't do it for me and Eva... Well, Eva was weird. All shy and innocent one moment, then all weird forward vamp the next.
I seriously am sorry, and I wish I could give it another rating, but two stars are all I can give because the main idea was good, but the book itself just didn't do it for me.
I'm sorry to say this, but this book was a big no for me. Where to even start...?
First, the voice of Nathan (meaning his inner thoughts) didn't at all match the personality set up for him. His characterization was all over the place, I found. First he's a player, then he feels guilty for trying to get with a guy's fiancée, and then a few chapters later, after losing a fight against said girl's fiancé, he curses the guy for making him lose the match and take the girl. Um. His thoughts are so unrealistic it makes me cry.
Further into the writing is the "telling" aspect of it. This relates to the unrealistic thoughts. The author tried so hard tell the readers every aspect of everything, and by doing so did it all through thoughts. But most of the stuff his thoughts told us was not stuff someone normal would think. For example, if a character is drunk, is a player and is thinking about his/her next conquest, the thought could be something like, 'I need my nightly fix of sex.' This shows that it's a common thing for the character to sleep around. An example of this scenario in P.A.Jones' writing would be: 'I sleep with women/men every night, and tonight I need another one.' (No, this isn't a direct example, but it's an example of the writing.
Then the descriptions. "the boy was a young adult" "looked mature inn her yellow top" No one describes someone that way! The make our scene on pages 28,29 need a new way to be written. "She this" and "she that." It's countless how many times "she" was used in that one part.
I also found the plot to be rather unrealistic too. It bounced around too much you couldn't keep track. The romance was too sudden. In general it was all over the place. I couldn't get a good grasp on the characters. They had no depth; were very one dimensional, and that's the worse for novels. Though the book was in reverse POVs (which is one thing I do like), and each person was stated clearly, I found their voices very similar.
This book was a gift from the author for an honest review. I just finished reading Struggle and I have to say that it was a welcome change from my other books. I am a romance reader, but I am a little tired of the sex taking over the book. I truly liked that your book had more to it than just the sex.
Struggle begins with the lives of two characters Eva and Nathan. They each struggle I with the way their lives have ended up. Eva loves to run and wants to make it a go for a career but her domineering mother refuses to hear it. Nathan an IT guy by day and a kick boxer by night enjoys booze and ladies. Eva has an assignment of finding an IT company to create a new we page for her college and she just so happens to meet Nathan. The sparks fly, but both are gun shy in the relationship department. He is helping her with her assignment and get back into running after an accident derails her chances of making it to a meet to keep her scholarship. Wanting to take things slow and let their relationship develop over time seems to be working for them, except with exes come into play ruining the best thing that has happened to both of them. They are left to struggle with another let down and possibly losing each other for good. Will the truth finally come out before it is to late?
I was offered a free copy for an honest review! I really liked the characters and the storyline, and there were things that bothered me but I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened. And it deserved it. The story was very well developed. Broken hearts, trust issues, shitty past can make anybody stay in his home and give up but not Nathan and Eva, they will chase their dreams and they will fight for their wants and happiness and for a chance to take what they really deserve, true love. The only thing that i didn't like so much was the fact that Eva has an issue with violence because of one ex beating her, and with Nathan's violence in the ring it makes it hard on her, but when he protects her and the way she acted really is kind of immature because she should have looked at the bigger picture. Also, i think that their story is very interesting and especially the dual pov that can help you have a whole image about both of them and how they feel. But sometimes the description, especially in the beggining made me feel a little bit tired but within reasonable limits. But in the rest of the book it was necessary and amazing ;) Love, trust, happiness are some of the feelings that you can find in this book You should really give it a chance and you won't regret it ;)
I picked this up as a freebie because it sounded like it had potential. Once I started it, I set it down several times due to lack of interest and tried to pick it back up. I hate not finishing books but I just can't do it.
The flow of the book is too choppy and the characters are flat. I would like to say it has potential but it would need a fair bit of editing before I would feel confident in saying that.
I really enjoyed this storyline of this Novel. The characters are believable and the writing flowed nicely. Its a story about broken hearts being mended, friendship, and love winning out!
So we meet Nathan, strong athletic, handsome man, who appears to be a bit of a player with some history that's being hidden ! He gets into a fight almost immediately who just happens to be a kickboxing opponent he is due to be fighting soon.
We then meet Eva, who is a sassy strong willed girl, but is also hiding secrets! Eva is at college and has a race coming up which she needs to win, to secure her scholarship so she doesn't have to work with her mother, who makes it quite clear that she will be working alongside her.
Eva gets given a task to get the college website integrated with social network sites, and is sent to have a meeting; not long after seeing Nathan across a bar, their eyes meet and something is stirred up! The IT expert turns out to be Nathan, and the attraction is full on, although they both try to keep it at bay!
They begin working together for the College project, as Nathan is desperate for the job as he has had a run of bad luck recently, he had the kickboxing fight with the guy he was fighting with, Peter, who knocked him out. Nathan was used to using women just for one night, drinking and women!
Whilst training for her race, Eva has an accident which renders her running career useless. Nathan and Eva begin to form a friendship, whilst taking things very slowly, her best friend Chloe who is fantastic by the way talks to her about letting her past go and to let Nathan in, we learn that she had been abused in her previous relationship.
Nathan also starts to let Eva in, but something is also holding him back. Nathan starts training Eva and begins to help her get her running training back on track, and soon enough they take their friendship to a relationship, but it doesn't run smoothly, unfortunately obstacles get in their way, They have a disaster date, where they don't have contact for a couple days; they soon resume where they left off! becoming closer, and falling hard for each other. Whilst Eva is helping Nathan his ex turns up causing a devastating blow to then both, again causing heartbreak for both of them, as we discover Samantha's reason for coming back into his life!
We also find out where Mason fits into the picture, he turns up at the start, and tries to get to know Eva, but she had odd feelings about him! He turned out to be OK in the end!
So out of anger and a broken heart Eva starts training harder for her race, Race day comes and Nathan hides in the seating areas, she does well and Nathan then decides that Eva is better off without him although he is struggling to let her go.
He comes home and finds her passed out in his apartment, turns out to be exhaustion, she then learns that her overbearing mother is coming to stay! Oh my what a cliffhanger! :(
**I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**
Let me get right into what made me go "WHAAAAAAAT?!"... the ending! I am hoping there is something else in the works for this couple because the ending was ... well, it left me going "WHAAAAAT?!". I can't give that away because then there's no point in reading the book :) My only other gripe is that it took half the book for Eva and Nathan to actually get together. Now, that being said, all those chapters before their meeting did give us insight into their characters.... so it was necessary, but since we didn't have all the answers going into it, maybe some of it could have been left out.
Now, for the grammar police out there...yes, there are some grammatical errors. Extra words thrown into a sentence, some misspelling and other sentence structure issues that caused me to have to read some things twice to make sense of it. For me that was not an issue. For some people it might cause you to throw your Kindle across the room and give up entirely. That's your call to make....but for me it didn't detract from the story and the story is what was really important here anyway.
I loved the relationship between Eva and Chloe. I will admit that there were times that Chloe over-affectionate behavior was a little grating...but that's obviously who she is so you take it in stride. I would have liked to have gotten to know a bit more about the relationship between Eva and her mother; but I have a feeling we will find out more about that in the second installment (ok, so I am sort of assuming here, but with the way the book ends you will get that feeling too).
Nathan... a hot, tattooed kickboxer... yes please!! He obviously has relationship issues... and boy do we find out what that issue is! Mason is also someone who pops up here and there and we find out what his real role is...and let me just say that I am glad that he stepped up to the plate with Eva when the time was right. It took a lot of balls for him to admit what he did to her and that he was willing to do it to help out Nathan.
This book was a quick read for me. I can't say that I didn't put it down, because well, sometimes life requires me to set down the Kindle... but I was able to finish it in a day. All in all, a really good story. Keep in mind this is a self published book... any writer who puts something out there deserves 5 gold stars just for putting themselves out there! The mistakes you may find, a slip in the storyline... when you don't have a team of paid pros behind you to catch all that, sometimes it slips through the cracks. But if you are looking for a good story from an Indie author...I really think you will like this one! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for a second book.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When I read the synopsis I was like "Yes, that's my kind of book!" Damaged individuals trying to move on from their past and learn to trust and love again. Plus a businessman by day, kick boxer by night? Umm, yes please!
Well, unfortunately the book did not live up to the hype. I was very quickly disappointed. A 150 page book normally takes me a day to read - IF I am loving it. This one took me three days because each page felt like pulling teeth, and I couldn't read it for long periods of time. Seriously, when I am truly enjoying a book, I will MAKE time for reading. In this case, I had the time but still didn't want to read it.
My biggest issue was the lack of depth, details, and story development. The story felt rushed and the lack of details made the storyline unconvincing. For these two to be "oh so damaged", it really didn't take long for them to get over their issues and fall in love with each other! One day they are friends and the next day they are calling each other baby and saying "I love you" a thousand times. Very unrealistic.
One big premise of this book was Nathan being a businessman by day and kick boxer by night. I think he had a total of two kick boxing fights in the book, and they are covered within the first 20 pages. After that there's not one mention about kick boxing until the very last few pages. So yeah, that was a buzzkill.
The other major annoyance was the terrible grammar, spelling, and proofreading. There was so many misspellings and comma overload - it really made me think that no one proofread this book before it was published. Some of the issues could have easily been caught from using spell check! There were a few instances during conversations where the person speaking was not properly identified, and I had to re-read the section a few times before I figured out who was the person speaking. It's the writer's job to identify this - not the reader. If I'm truly loving a book, I can look past these issues. In this case, it only added to my angst.
The one positive I found was the ending. Even though I didn't enjoy the book, the ending truly left me wondering "what the heck"? It's a cliffhanger, which is the perfect way to set up for the next installment.
This book was offered to me for free in exchange for an honest review. While I don't like giving such a low rating, there were a few things that kept me from really enjoying Struggle. I rated it 3 stars on Amazon as that equaled OK and I did not hate this book.
There are many, many typos in the book. If P.A. Jones is a self-publishing author, maybe it would help her out to have a few friends read it for grammar and spelling errors. When there are errors on every other page it tends to trip a reader up and it is a struggle to finish (no pun intended). The author could also use more contractions, the dialogue is very formal, such as "I am coming, I am coming". Also there are certain spots where the text is bold and didn't need to be. Understood if there is a text message between the characters and the author wants it to stand out, however these were just random parts of the book in bold lettering, at one point a word was actually the color red. The last thing I noticed was the characters lived in New York, not too sure if they were transplants or what, but there needed to be a few more American words such as bar instead of lounge, cell instead of mobile, apartment instead of flat and miles instead of meters. If they are New Yorkers, it makes more sense to have them talk as such.
The story of Struggle is Eva and Nathan learning to love or trust each other after bad past relationships. Eva comes off as very immature, constantly crying or doubting herself and Nathan is just all over the road. They both have some baggage from the past and they way Nathan took care of his would have had me out the door not bothering to look back. Never have I read a book where the guy that just declared his love to his new girlfriend did what he did, and the new girlfriend just stood by and let it happen. I found this to be a very unbelievable plot-line of the story no matter how immature Eva acted.
All in all there is some sort of a story here, however it could be better. The story line is choppy and it definitely needs some beta readers to help with the grammar and flow of it.
I was given an arc for this book in exchange for an honest review, so here goes. Struggle by P.A. Jones is a book about a Kick Boxer name Nathan that meets Eva who is college student working to get a scholarship with her running skills. Initially Nathan and Eva meet in a bar while Nathan was busy trying to pick up yet another one of his many one night stands. But when he sees Eva, Nathan was instantly attracted to her, and Eva was as well, but not interested because she thinks he has a girlfriend. Life kept putting Nathan in Eva’s tracks and she continued to wonder about him. Ultimately they are put together due to a school project that Eva is working on and she needs to hire IT help to complete her project, that’s where Nathan comes in and they start working together. I enjoyed reading this book because it was more than just a bunch of dirty sex scenes, and that we get both POV’s as we move from chapter to chapter, with that said though I was a little annoyed that I kept hearing the same event being repeated from each POV. I was like, didn’t I just read about this? I did however really like the struggle they both went through and how Nathan was changing to be the kind of man that Eva would want to be with. Eva was a little winey to me, but sometimes that has to be, especially when she is someone that comes from an abusive relationship and is just trying to move on and trust someone again. I found myself hooked wondering if they would finally get it together and just be a couple already. I really did like this book, I really did, the only negative thing I can say about it is that it was a little familiar, boy meets girl, they fall in love, they have a break up and they get back together and live HEA. But! I love how it was written and I look forward to reading the next book in the story of Nathan and Eva, I truly do. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I received a copy of this book from the aurthor and I do apologize I thought my review had posted sometimes I really hate new technology lol .. but anyways back to the book STRUUGGLE !! lets just say I am in love with this book I REALLY COULDN’T PUT THIS BOOK DOWN IVE READ IT THREE TIMES ALREADY SINCE IVE GOTTEN IT !!.. the decription of the characters was a job well done I felt like I was there looking at them feeling what they felt.. Eva is a College student that pretty much have mommy issues and is struggling with trying to find her own path of a career and is hoping her choice pans out but of course things go wrong for her one by one… Then there is Nathan, at first I didn’t know what his job description was I just knew he had a big meeting with a client any ways he’s an IT guy and a kickboxer .. he is also struggling .. struggling to keep clients so he can pay his bills and trying to be one of the best in kickboxing.. lets just say in the first few chapters things wasn’t panning out for him either (peter kicked his butt..haha) Nathan and Eva meet its like fireworks in the sky …but they end up working together because Eva has a project for college and lokky what we have her Nathan is the IT that she has a meeting with lucky her lol.. Eva doesn’t know how to act around him just whatever pops up first comes out type thing.. Nathan plays it off very well.. I really like how he wants to take things slow with her and I like how he wants to help her get back into running so she can compete. Nathan was nervous and scared f being in a relationship because of his past.. slowly but surely they got thru it.. I LOVED THIS BOOK !!!! PA JONES YOUR AMAZAING!!! THANK YOU SSOO MUCH FOR LETTING ME READ I WAS SAD IT WAS OVER
Let me start off by saying I am thrilled when authors ask for reviews. I was excited to read something by a new author in exchange for a review. I am a completely honest person and very opinionated so here it goes.
This is a fast paced book, and at first it bounced around a bit, but as you read the rest of the story it became better. There are a few things I didn't like and they are listed below...for me to list them means they really just bothered me. There is a strong connection between Nathan and Eva just from the first sight. Once they realize they will be working together the emotions are everywhere. Now, this storyline is a good one, I get the main idea, but the wording makes it difficult. Honestly I don't like the ending, mainly because I want to know if they work through their problems and such. Eva has a past of difficulty with guys because of one ex beating her, and with Nathan's violence in the ring it makes it hard on her, but when he protects her and the way she acted really is kind of immature because she should have looked at the bigger picture. I get the title because they both clearly go through struggles of life, but the characters really are drama filled and immature. But over all I rate this a 3 star book. If you can over look the things listed below its a good read.
First: grammatical errors, punctuation errors and just over all lack of synonyms, repetitive words.
Second: it bounced around, like really, it went so fast and in different directions considering this is a dual POV I can over look some, but not all.
I would recommend this book as one to read on rainy or snowy days when you don't want to do anything else or maybe when your on vacation.
This book sounded really good. It even started out great and drew me in but after a few chapters it really started to fall apart.
The characters seemed to change personalities constantly. I couldn't keep up. One minute you have Nathan who acts like a bad ass fighter but then he is a professional speaking man with all the courtesy and respect you would expect in a mature business man. Then he is this emotional drinker then he is sensitive and it just goes on from there. Eva seemed like a strong woman at first but then she ended up very immature. It was frustrating and made it really hard to have any connection with the characters because in all honesty I don't think it ever really gives you a strong foundation of who they are.
Then you have the storyline. It is a really good storyline just the execution was so choppy you could never get in the moment of what was happening. The dramatic events in this book were glossed over and came and went with a turn of the page. There was no build up to it just bam it all comes out then poof it's over and let's move on to something else. It was a huge disconnect. There was more in depth monologue into random things that did nothing to improve the story then there was with the main plot points. The story could've been amazing and emotional but it really fell short. The dialogue between Nathan and Eva was terrible. How you can even determine a relationship blossomed between them is beyond me because none of it made sense.
I think with a good editor and a reader group to discuss how to improve this book then a major rewrite this book could go a long way and draw in tons of readers, but as sits now? It's really rough.
**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
It was the first time that an author reached out to me to review a book and was honored to do so.
I really liked the characters, Nathan and Eva, and the storyline. It was refreshing to see that the main characters took the time to know each other and build the relationship prior to jumping into bed like a lot of other stories do. Nathan is an IT Programmer and Kickboxer who, due to a previous relationship that left him on the bottom of the barrel, does not believe in love anymore and just looks for a good time with whomever. Eva is a college student who doesn't want any relationships because of a bad one she had in the past, which left her in a dark place emotionally. Throughout the time they are getting to know each other, he tries to push her away while she tries to be with him. Situations happen that their relationship hits rock bottom but love triumphs in the end.
I wish I could give it a higher rating but I found a few things that kept me from it. The storyline builds up throughout the relationship between the characters but some of the transitions were a little confusing and I had to read back a little to ensure I was keeping track. Some scenes were a bit rushed and I felt like some of the confrontations could've been elaborated a bit more. I was blown away at the end because it ended abruptly, so I hope a second book is in the works to know how their story truly ends. But all in all, again, I really liked the story and the characters.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this it's fast paced. Give me an mma romance book and I am completely drawn in lol! Nathan and Eva are both sports driven individuals but they lead different lives. Nathan can easily get himself in and out of trouble, he was not the type to be ashamed of his manwhore ways, and always went out with his wingman James when he called, until he meets Eva and his world gets turned upside down! I must say I loved the fact that Nathan acknowledged his feelings towards Eva and did not entertain other women, for him she was it. Now Eva is a college student who is forced to work on promoting her college via social media, and that leads her to Nathan, who is an IT specialist by day and a mixed martial artist by night. Both characters have struggled to overcome their goals Eva who wants to be a runner and is discouraged by her disapproving mother, and Nathan who wants to make a name in mma. Their relationship was real, sweet and tender, Nathan and Eva were just so perfect together. As they both tried to support one another in achieving their goals, exes come out, heartache ensures and distance brings their love back into focus! Can't wait for the second book to come out love Nathan and Eva! Their was typo errors but it didn't ruin the flow of the story too much for me, overall enjoyable short read.
I stumbled across this book, I loved the cover and synopsis and gave it a shot. I'm really glad I did :-). The book was great. It was a quick read, there was no unnecessary fluff. You stayed connected with the characters.
Eva is college student struggling for strength and independence. She was in an abusive relationship a year ago that has caused her to give up on men. Her mother has her life planned for her, but Eva has dreams of becoming a professional runner. As she's struggling to stand up to her mother and get her strength back, she meets Nathan. His voice immediately calls to her; it's a type of attraction that she's never experienced. She doesn't want to get hurt and is leery at first, but she can't deny the attraction.
Nathan, was ruined by a woman he cared for and was enjoying the playboy life. Drowning his sorrows in alcohol and women. He's a kickboxing, web designer and is drawn to Eva with one look. He doesn't trust people and fights the attraction to Eva to protect both himself and her.
You will love their ups and downs as they figure things out. Can't wait for book 2!
ARC generously provide by the author in return for an honest review
I am not sure what to say about this book. It does have a good storyline but the whole story is lacking of affections. I couldn't get myself to like Eva because I feel like she cries all the time and I could get myself to feel that her friend was her best friend, what young best friend call each other sugar, sweets, or something like that to each other?
It's seems like her emotion is all over the place and why she's mad at Nathan for protecting her? And put him in the same category as her ex? I feel like all Chloe & Nathan does was trying to tell her how a great , sweet person she is.
I just don't connect to these characters. Even with how much she & Nathan claims how much they love each other, I still don't feel it. Sometime when the same thing keep on mentioning, I was like OMG enough already.
So this book is not for me so it might be for others if they enjoy a quick read and the lack of emotions these Characters. But if I was to sum up the story, it's not too bad of a story line.
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
I rarely give a book less than 3 stars, and I truly hate when I have to, but I really couldn't get into it.
The book has potential to be good, but it really needed some editing. The writing and grammar are so distracting that I couldn't connect with the characters, or most importantly enjoy the story.
The characters Eva and Nathan had great potential though. Nathan is a sexy kickboxer and Eva is a sweet college student. Nathan is a player and a heavy drinker before he meets Eva. But when they meet, there is an instant attraction.
I hate that this book has so much potential, but just needs some serious editing. I mean it's a story about a fighter. And, that's very popular right now. And the sex scenes were pretty good, also. If I were the writer, I would do some serious editing and just touch up a couple of parts, then release the book again as the 're-edited version. That's just my opinion, but I really think people would like it if that was done.
Author gave me the book for a review and I appreciate the copy!!
This is the first book that I read from P.A Jones and I was a little unsure at first. The book kind of jumped around a lot in the beginning and it took me awhile but it was worth the time reading! Nathan was such a player in the beginning and the way he fell in love with Eva was what Eva actually needed in her life! Eva is a girl that is focused on running and school and not working for her mother. When Nathan and Eva’s eye met for the first time she knew he was the one that could possibly change her life in a good way unlike Jacob her ex. This book kept me guessing and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and I look forward to the next in the series! Thanks P.A Jones for the copy!!!!! Struggle
"They say that when you die, all the deeds of your life are played out like a motion picture. Even though I wasn't dying, the situation brought all of this in front of my eyes before I lost consciousness." Struggle by P. A. Jones
First of all I'd like to say thank you to amazing P. A. Jones for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. It was quite nice and relaxing reading. I liked that the storutelling was fast-moving and it never got bored. At the same time I liked main heroes - Eva and Nathaniel. It was fascinating to watch their development. They were both afraid to love and trust other people. They both had their own issues and they together helped each other. It was the ending that made me give four stars to this book ( while reading I couldn't decide three or four). It was touching and so sweet that I didn't have any doubts left. Thanks a lot P. A. Jones - keep writing, I'll definitely read your next books!
I received this ARC for a honest review. I did like the story line in this book, I think this book has great potential. I have also read some of the reviews that have been posted already and while I will not discredit someone else's opinion I do not agree with some if them.
This story is about 2 broken souls who have had so much hurt they close their hearts off. There is a lot if emotion in this story and you can see growth in the main characters.
Eva is a college girl that wants to be a successful runner, however she has a mother that has different plans for her a previous relationship that was abusive..
Nathan wants to be a professional boxer but also had a history from a bad relationship in his past. Nathan does not want anything but one night stands until he meets Eva. But his past will come back to hurt him and Eva.
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. Eva is running from her past trying to get the future she wants. Her mother is after her to forget her dream of running and work for her. Nathan is an IT guy, a kick-boxer and a playboy and he is running from his past too. When Eva and Nathan see each other across the room, there is a connection drawing them together. They both are fighting past relationship demons and it makes it hard to get past them. They will go through a lot trying to make a relationship for them. Can they survive the past demons? Will Nathan hurt Eva in the end? The story flowed well and there were a few grammar errors that made it hard at times but didn't distract from the story for me. This is a first for me from P.A. Jones and I really enjoyed it. And I can't wait to find out what happens with Eva and Nathan.
Nathan I think he's attempting to flirt with Eva, but the boy I just don't think he's good at it, "I will definitely require you to clarify some requirements. Maybe we can meet somewhere and discuss those things." Eva she doesn't beat around the bush she says how she feels, "it's better that I give you some time to think about what you want. It just doesn't feel right that I keep running behind you and your issue keeps coming between us." But Nathan can be very forthcoming in what he wants as well, "I want to eat you for breakfast." And he goes to no ends to defend his woman, "yes, Samantha. She is my girlfriend, and my house is her house." My anger had been slowly increasing." I liked the book but I wasn't in love with it. It was missing something and I'm not sure what it was.
I was given this book by the author for an honest review. This is a story about Eva, a college student/athlete, who doesn't want to end up working with her mother and Nathan, a kick boxer/ IT guy, who seems to just be looking for a good time. Eva first saw Nathan at a bar and then again at a fight. She was drawn to him. She was very surprised when she showed up for an assignment and he was the IT guy she needed to work with. They fight their attraction at first, but end up falling in love. It's not an easy road because their past come back to get in the way; however they come together in the end. I enjoyed this book, but feel like it ended abruptly with no epilogue. I hope there is a follow up to this book.
I had read different reviews good and bad and also some ok. I did like how two first met. Eva is a college student and Nathan is a web designer. they both have a past that comes to bite them in the butt. But with love they can come together as one. I personally did like how it took awhile for them to get together. It does show that there can be a second book. I have to say the only out of the book that i didn't like was that it ended abruptly. To me is should of had a few more pages than ended. I love how it showed the difference between men and women. Most women are emotional than men are, and depending on situation. Some people feel that Eva was to emotional but I do not. I feel that being abused whether it emotional or physical can take its tow on someone. I hope there is a book two.
I couldn't connect, either with Nathan or Eva. I found their emotions to be either all over the places or nothing at all. I understood both had a bruised past, but i felt Nathan went overboard with it. Their way of handling situations was also not up to the mark, according to me. I felt like this is the normal NA story, both the lead characters have a bruised past but what they make of their present and when they find each other makes up for it or makes a reader crazy for them. I couldn't find either of these things happening in this book for me. Also, Eva was kind of a very weak personality for me. If she would have stood once for something she wanted in her life, it would have made things a bit better. In all, it was an okay read.
I really liked the characters and the storyline, and there were things that bothered me but I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened. My biggest issue from giving this a higher rating was the conversations between everyone just didn't flow mostly because there interactions were formal and the words chosen did not seem to fit the situation. There were some grammar errors but they weren't too bad that I couldn't follow the storyline.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review of this book.
I loved this book! I loved how the characters don't just fall in bed with each other but build a friendship first! From the first time Nathan and Eva see each other there is a spark between them that neither of them can deny! Nathan is an IT guy and kickboxer and Eva is a college student who in running for a scholarship but has an accident and can't run anymore. Nathan helps Eva run again and their relationship become more. THIS WAS AN AMAZING BOOK! Can't wait for more!!!
